This is a story I have been waiting a long time to write and share for a while. Finding inspiration in the old fairy tails such as the: The Wild Swans by Hans and those legends of The swan maiden is a mythical creature who shape shifts from human form to swan form with her coat of white feathers.

  Even the Greek legends of Zeus who would turn into a swan and come to bed with a woman. Stories of these magical and graceful creatures who would shed into white to take flight underwing. Even also in seeing these creatures in real life, taking flight into the wide blue sky or coming to land in a splash of gold caught in the sun is a sight to see. Then being with their mates and raising their young is a sight, for anyone to see once! 

 So now I seek to retell a fairy tale, just with my own spin on it. One with elementals of humanity and love, one of struggle and failure, and what it means to learn to be yourself in the most joyful of moments to those when we wish to bow down and fight no more. Also, this is also a tale of growth from a young boy to what it means to a man and to learn to love in its many lovely forms.

 The Swan King

  There is a swan who swims alone from his kind, on a silver lake that previously the royal family had called home in the ruins above the lake.  

  Alone, he drifts in his own dream of memories of a life he can not recall. Watching the world pass as he reminds alone till the nights of the full moon give him a shape of a man who only wishes to be the swan and forgot that life in dreams endless on the silver lake. 

 Just the dream comes to ending when a youthful artist draws the swan every day and on a night of the full moon, meets the man hidden under the elegant shape. Such will this meeting once more threaten both of them as old powers seek to slay the cursed prince now knowing who he once was...
