Troubled

We got back to the ranch and got back to normal everyday life. Michael began spending more time plus nights in my suite. I got so comfortable that I began using more of the house. I even cooked dinner a couple of times for him and the staff. Everything was going good until I began getting morning sickness all day.

I threw up any and everything that I attempted to eat or drink. I laid in bed all day that Tuesday with the garbage pail next to me. Michael stayed as long as he could but he had to go take care of business that Wednesday and wouldn't be back until late Friday night.

That morning he kissed me goodbye and promised to call every chance he got. Storm came to check on me every couple of hours and tried to get me to eat something. I tried but it came right back up. This kept happening all that day and Thursday so I got weaker as the time went by. Every time I talked to Michael I tried to perk up so he wouldn't worry about me.

Friday morning I woke up and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I held onto the sink for extra support but my hand slipped and I fell down, hitting my head on the ceramic sink as I fell to the floor. I blacked out.

In a distance I heard a scream. I opened my eyes but the room was spinning. Next thing I remember was an ice pack on my head making my whole body shiver. Then I was lifted onto a stretcher and wheeled out the house. The sirens made my head pound even more.

I woke up in a room hooked to an I.V., an oxygen cannula, and my head wrapped up. Storm was sitting by my hospital bed watching attentively. I said "what happened?"

"You fell, hit your head hard and passed out. How do you feel?"

I didn't realize my head still hurt until right then. I answered her. Just then the door opened and Michael came rushing in. He looked like he had been running.

He came right up to the bed and kissed my lips. He said "I got here as fast as I could, are you ok?"

I nodded. A thought ran through my head and I frantically moved the covers to see if I still had a baby bump.

He said "Dr. Jacobs is on the way to do an ultrasound to check on the baby. Apparently you are seriously dehydrated"

Storm got up to leave and Michael walked her to the door. I could hear them whispering but couldn't make out what they were saying. It seemed like my head began pounding harder.

Michael asked if I wanted any pain meds. I declined until I got to see the baby on the screen.

It seemed like it took the doctor forever to get there but really it was only about thirty minutes. He didn't waste anytime getting to business.

The screen lit up and then the doctor said "Wow!"

I just knew the baby was not alive anymore but then I seen what surprised the doctor. There were two strings of pearls which were spines. I said "Twins?"

Doc said "No, it's triplets!"

He showed us the three babies. Two in one sack and one in the sack that he previously thought was empty. He listened to heart beats then asked Michael if he wanted to know the sex of the babies. I think Michael was in shock but nodded his head. Since there were identical babies he only checked one in the sack of two. Those were girls . Then in the sack alone was a little boy. He told me I needed to stay at least a couple of nights to get rehydrated and to watch the mild concussion I had. He told me that I was almost four months pregnant and I should be getting a lot of nutrients. Especially since I was carrying more than one baby.

When doc left he ordered the nurse to give me a pain medication for my headache and add medication for nausea to the I.V.

Michael was overjoyed. Three babies in one pregnancy was way more than he bargained for. He kept kissing me and thanking me.

The nurse administered the medications. Michael told me to get some rest while he ran home to get both of us some personal belongings. That's the last thing I heard before all hell broke loose.
