(A/N) I'm back! *crickets chirp* *small "yay" from someone is heard* Um, okay. Well, new chapter, new fun. Enjoy!
"You ready?" Emma asked Eli. "We'll grab some new clothes for him on the way, Onyx has been needing to go to the store for a while, she'll grab some clothes."
"Tell me how much it cost, I'll pay you back," Aunt April said firmly.
"No, if you try I'm dropping him off at the door and disappearing," Emma replied.
"Ladies, I'm sure we can work this out when Eli is dropped off." Uncle Jimmo said, smiling. He glanced out the window, checking for a car. "How are you getting to your house?"
Emma grinned. "We're teleporting."
He blinked, not believing it.
"She can teleport," Eli confirmed.
Emma smirked, teleporting behind Uncle Jimmo, startling him. "Believe me now?" She asked, still smirking as she walked back over to stand next to Eli again. "We need to get going, Onyx said she'd leave for the store without me if I took too long." She grabbed Eli's shoulder teleporting the two of them to the house.
"You're lucky," Onyx said as soon as they appeared. "I almost left without you."
Eli gaped. The girl had long black hair and matching wings. Big, black, feathered wings.
"She's a Fleetwing, you can close your mouth," Emma said, closing Eli's mouth.
"So this is Eli," Onyx said, turning around, a mixing bowl in her arms. "Emma wouldn't stop talking about how the slugs down there were adorable."
"And she wouldn't stop dreaming about it." Another girl entered what Eli assumed to be the kitchen. She, oddly, had horns, a scorpion tail, and wings. Eli began to feel a little light-headed.
"Uh, guys, do you think he's gonna pass out?" Emma asked, watching him carefully. "Secilia makes that same face whenever she passes out from blood loss."
"He's not bleeding," a deeper voice came from a black, tiger-sized cat with wings.
"Yeah, I think he's gonna pass out," Emma said, frowning. "Oh, he's a little overloaded. I guess I didn't realize how startling we could be. Especially all at once. Kat, let's prevent anyone from coming in until he regains his feet and stops looking like he's going to pass out."
Kat nodded, leaving.
"And Nightfleet? I'd stop talking for a little while, I don't think he can quite wrap his head around something that looks a lot like a cat talking."
The giant cat snorted, moving over to stand by Onyx.
"Well, is he going to pass out? Do I need to go without you?" Onyx asked, putting down the mixing bowl and grabbing a large backpack.
"You going to be okay?" Emma asked Eli, concern written all over her face. "Hey, Onyx, Are Annmarie, Logan, and Elizabeth here?"
"Annmarie's here, Logan just left, and Elizabeth will be here in another two days."
"Do you think this is like altitude sickness?" Emma wondered. "I'm calling Aunt Amelia." She tapped on her arm a few times, then began speaking. "Hi, Aunt Amelia, is there anything that could cause something that looks a lot like blood loss, but isn't? Cause Eli is really pale, and kinda swaying, but Nightfleet says he isn't bleeding. Yeah, him. No, I haven't explained. Ah, okay." She nodded at Onyx. "He's just overloaded. He should be fine when he processes it all."
"He should probably sit down." Onyx decided, steering Eli over to a nearby stool. He sat down, placing his head on the counter.
"What are you making, Onyx?" Emma wondered, wandering over to the mixing bowl and sticking her finger in. When she pulled it out and licked it, she made a face. "Eww, blueberries." She washed her hand off in the sink, steam rising off it as she heat dried her hand.
"Geez Emma, I would've thought you'd ask whether something has blueberries or not." Secilia floated down through the ceiling. Emma stopped her.
"Eli's a little overloaded."
"Okay, I'll leave." Secilia disappeared, probably going back to her work.
"Are you okay Eli? Or do you need more time." Onyx asked gently.
Eli lifted his head and nodded. "I'm good, just needed a moment." He frowned. "Who's voice was that, and why did it come from the ceiling?"
Emma opened her mouth, then shut it again. "Do you want to know how many different kinds of magic are in this house?"
"Slug me," Eli replied.
Emma shrugged. "Just don't pass out. Secilia and Danny are half ghost, Kat's hybrid-type magic, Annmarie and Logan are merfolk, Elizabeth is an emotional magic-type, Colyn, Onyx, and I are all aliens, Keith's relatively normal, Ankira is half alien, Summaria can turn invisible, and Arrow is telepathic."
Eli blinked. "So aliens are real."
Onyx snorted. "That's what you got from that?"
"You literally just told me that I have been talking to an alien since I met you." Eli continued.
"Yep, you are correct." Emma continued. "The voice coming from above you was Secilia, she was probably coming in for a snack."
"We've wasted enough time, can we get going to the store?" Onyx asked.
"Jeez, smooth your feathers," Emma replied. "He literally just found out that aliens are real."
"He lives in an entire magical world, I think he can process that on the way to the store," Onyx replied impatiently. "Cause while the clothes he's currently wearing aren't really going to get any strange looks, especially if you're with me."
"I'm teleporting him, so he can process while we wait for you to fly over," Emma corrected.
"Same difference, can we just go?"
"Yep, leaving. Eli, I would stand up, it's annoying to be sitting down when you teleport, then suddenly end up on your backside. It's also uncomfortable. And can be embarrassing." Emma offered Eli her arm, and he resignedly grabbed her wrist, standing up. "See you Onyx!"
Appearing next to the store's front door, Eli frowned. "Teleporting doesn't feel like anything."
"You just realized that?"
"Well, no, but this is the first time I've actually thought about it."
Emma grinned. "Yeah, the only person who's ever felt something when I teleported them, was Illya, and she's a Kirin. Apparently, Kirin are rather immune to magic."
They stood there for a couple of minutes in awkward silence. After that, Onyx had arrived, a black dot rapidly getting larger, then braking with a gust of wind to land in front of them.
"Hey guys," she said cheerily, not even breathing hard.
"How far is it from here to the house?" Eli asked.
"A couple of miles," Emma replied.
Eli gaped at Onyx again. How in the 99 caverns could she fly so fast?
"You'll inhale someone's feathers if you leave your mouth open like that," Onyx chided. Eli snapped his mouth shut with an audible 'click'.
Emma shook her head. "Get used to it, impossible things happen a lot around here."
(A/N) Well, kinda a filler, but hey. It was fun having Eli almost pass out like that. Emma got a little out of hand-
(Emma)- Hey! Not my fault Aunt Amelia ends up picturing every time Secilia's passed out from blood loss whenever someone goes pale. I haven't actually seen Secilia pass out from blood loss.
(Colyn)- I'll just get my sister out of here, sorry for interrupting your thingy.
Well, that was interesting, BYE!
