Emma
(A/N) So, yep! New Chapter.
"We'll have to get you some new clothes, apparently," Aunt April said, ruffling his hair. The next morning when he came down to breakfast, he found blueberry muffins, something he hadn't had in forever.
"I don't really plan on staying long," He said apologetically. "Slugterra needs me. While the rest of the Shane Gang can handle it for a while, they won't last forever."
"Of course, but we can't have you wearing too small stuff while you're here." Aunt April had that look in her eyes that meant she wasn't giving in, so it was useless to argue.
"So, has anything strange happened around here?" Eli wondered, glancing around as he sat down at the table, grabbing a muffin.
"Yeah, you shoulda seen it, the whole world glitched!" Max waved his arms around animatedly, occasionally interrupted by Sylvie as he described it.
"Oh really?" Eli asked after Max had finished.
"Yeah. You should see the sky! There are so many stars!" Sylvie added.
"Whatever happened, cleared a lot of the light pollution from the air. Changed a lot of other things as well, while we're still connected to power, the power is different, closer to the slug energy that's in the caverns." Uncle Jimmo said.
"And everything works?" Eli wondered.
"That's the strange part, everything works a lot better than it used to, all electronics remaining charged for longer, and are charging faster," Aunt April added.
"Downsides?" Eli asked.
"We can't get in contact with any of your relatives, the phone just says they're out of range, whatever that means." Aunt April said, spreading butter on her muffin.
"I think I know what happened," Eli admitted. "A while ago, we ran into a pair of teens named Emma and Colyn. They were from the surface."
"How'd they get down to Slugterra then?" Uncle Jimmo asked.
"Emma said she teleported both of them down by accident. They said that Slugterra plus this neighborhood had been transported to another world."
"That glitch," Max realized, "It made us switch worlds!"
"I think it was a product of you switching universes. Apparently, the one we were in before, blew up," Eli explained.
"What happened to everyone else? Did they all just, go boom?" Sylvie asked tentatively.
"No, they're somewhere else. They're safe, I think, but somewhere else." Eli reassured his young cousin.
"So, what's with the power?" Uncle Jimmo asked.
"Dunno, I guess we could try and find Emma or Colyn, but I don't know how," Eli offered.
"We could look them up," Max offered. "There is still an internet, but it's more bright and happy."
"Well, I guess that could work. Not exactly used to the more modern stuff yet." Eli frowned. "What was their last name? Oh, I got it, they said their last name was Sandiego."
"Sandiego? I think they were on a news report, something about new additions to some sort of team." Aunt April recalled. She pulled out her phone, looking the teens up. "I got it here, Emma and Colyn Sandiego, relatively new additions to the Fantasyverse team, mysteriously appearing out of nowhere with powers far beyond anything the rest of the Fantasyverse team has shown in the past."
"What kind of news article is that?" Eli asked, getting up to look over her shoulder.
"Sit down an eat your food young man," she scolded. Eli grimaced but sat down anyway. Out of nowhere, a small chirp came from below him, and he looked down to see Burpy.
"Hey there Burpy, finally awake?" He asked, setting the small slug on his shoulder. "I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever wake up."
Burpy chirped, then hopped off Eli's shoulder, hunting around for some food.
"Good thing I always keep some slug food around, it's an old habit from when your father would drop by randomly," Uncle Jimmo commented, getting up and going to one of the cupboards. He pulled out a container of slug food, pouring some into a bowl, and setting it in front of Burpy.
The other nine slugs Eli had all came down the stairs in a little pack, apparently having just woken up.
"Did you bring your entire arsenal, Eli?" Aunt April asked, smiling at him.
"No, just eight of them are mine though, I figured I'd probably run into Emma and Colyn, so I brought along their two slugs to." Eli smiled.
"Always the one to be considerate," Uncle Jimmo said, pouring bowls for the new arrivals.
"I heard you wanted to see me?" Emma's voice came from behind Eli, and he shot up from his chair, hand immediately going to where his blaster was usually holstered.
"Emma, how-" Eli stopped himself. "Nevermind, I'm not going to ask."
"I try and keep tabs on everyone I've encountered, especially ones that are new to a world," Emma explained. "I've been rather busy the last few days, so sorry about not dropping by earlier."
"He just got here last night," Aunt April said.
"Explains the slightly too small pyjamas, I suppose," Emma quipped. "Hey Flamingo, how've you been?" She petted the slugs head a few times, smiling. "How are you, Hedgehog?"
The slugs chirped, then went back to their meals.
"Oh, you don't say. I do think I could help though," Emma straightened and grinned at Eli. "Secilia should be able to help, she knows a lot more about electrical stuff than I do."
"Who's this Secilia person?" Uncle Jimmo asked.
"My friend, she's nice," Emma replied, smiling. "She knows a lot about electrical stuff, I'm sure she can help."
"I have the blueprints of the part Kord needs," Eli offered, pointing up the stairs. "They're in my bag."
"I'll just wait until you guys finish breakfast, I'm not in a hurry, if I was, you'd know," Emma said, sitting cross-legged in the air.
"You would've grabbed me then teleported out?" Eli guessed.
"Yeah, probably," she admitted.
"I won't be too long, probably," Eli said. She nodded, still floating there.
(A/N) Yep, that was interesting, okay maybe not really, but still. Comment and stuff, I like to know if anyone's reading deep enough to actually comment. Even if it is scolding me to get moving with the story.
