Chapter 6
"Laki will be here tommorow to give you a tour around the school."
"Okay, thank you," Luna thanked her.
She closed the door leaving Luna and Cana, "woah! This room is pretty big!" Luna said, jumping on the bed.
"Damn rich kids... this is probably bigger than my apartment."
"I wouldn't go that far." Luna looked in the drawers to see if there was any clothes, "I really need some clothes. Mines are all sweaty."
"Same. If I knew that I was going to enroll in fairy tail academy today, I would have brought some luggage."
"We can ask in the morning, right now, I'm exhausted."
"Same, I'll see you in the morning. I need my beauty rest." Cana went to the other side of the room, putting on her eye mask.
"So, do you carry around an eye mask everywhere you go?"
"Of course. It's a good habit to get into."
Luna giggled, "goodnight Cana."
The sound of a trumpet went through the whole school waking everyone up. To everyone else it was a routine, but to Cana and Luna it was their worst nightmare.
"Shut that crap up already!" Cana said covering her face with her pillow.
"Just five more minutes please!" Luna exclaimed.
The door slammed open, "rise and shine pretty birdies!"
"I already want to burn down this school," Cana whispered.
"Are you threatening to burn the school down? That's against school policy y'know."
"And Imma start by punching some sense into goody two shoes over here."
"Threatening students is against policy as well."
Cana started whispering inaudible curses at Laki.
"It's time for breakfast. Yall better hurry before the food is gone," Laki said.
"I'm up!" They both said.
They rushed down to the dining hall with their stomachs practically touching their spines. They got in line and looked at the breakfast buffet selections.
"Bacon, eggs, toast, oh my!" Luna said drooling over the food.
"Come to mama!" They both filled there plates until they couldn't put anything else on it.
"I can't wait to eat this food!" Luna said taking in the sweet and savory smell of the smoked bacon.
"Let's find somewhere to sit first." They looked around but there were no seats available in sight.
"There's no seats left, where are we going to sit?"
Cana gazed around the room until she found two seats in her line of sight.
"Two seats! Twelve o'clock!" They both ran to the seats before anybody else could steal them.
"Sorry..." a girl created multiple copies of herself to fill the two seats, "these seats are taken." The other students around her started giggling.
"Why you little..." Luna had to grab a hold of Cana before she could throw a punch.
"We're sorry, we'll find somewhere else to sit." Luna dragged Cana to the hallway.
"Why did you pull me out of there? I was about to beat the crap out of that little brat!"
"Can we at least try not to get kicked out on the first day?"
"Fine, but if another person tries to pull a stunt like that again, I'm ripping their head off."
"Note taken." Luna gazed to her side to see a whiff of blonde in the corner of her eye.
She pulled Cana behind the wall, "What are you doing?"
"Shh! Look." Cana followed Lunas eyes to see what she was talking about.
"It's your mom."
"Let's follow her."
"Woah! Wait kiddo, why are we following her?"
"Because we need to befriend her so we can tell her about the plan, and she's probably going to a place where we can sit and eat."
"Fine, but no funny business." They followed her up to the second floor where she then went into the a room.
"That looks like a classroom," Cana said, nibbling on a piece of bacon.
"Is she sitting in there by herself?"
"It seems so." Luna started walking toward the classroom, "Hey! What are you doing?" Cana whispered.
"Like you said, no one should ever feel like there alone in this world." She walked into the room.
"Dammit Luna." She followed right behind her.
Lucy was sitting at a desk reading a book while she was eating her breakfast.
Luna knocked on the door startling Lucy, "got room for two more?"
She smiled, "of course, sit." They sat in the two chairs next to her and started eating, "I heard there was two new students, but I didn't expect it to be you guys."
"You saying we dumb or something?" Cana said with her mouth full.
Lucy giggled, "no, I just didn't expect it to be you guys."
Luna wiped her mouth, "so why are you sitting here by yourself?"
"I'm not allowed to sit with everyone else, so they placed me in here to eat."
"Why would they do that?"
"Until I control my powers, I'm not allowed to be with the other kids."
"Well that sucks," Cana said, sipping some of juice.
"Cana!" Luna hit her knee.
"Ouch! What did I do?"
"You're being insensitive!"
"No, it's actually quite fine. I get to do other things that other students can't do. I have my own cabin, I get to do online classes which means nine of those boring lectures, and I sometimes get dinner delivered to my door." She leaned in closer to the both of them, "the other students are not allowed to eat in their rooms."
Both Cana and Luna looked at each other, "don't you have any friends? Anyone to hang out with?"
"No not really, but I'm ok with it. Sometimes it's good to be all alone, right?"
"Not when your alone everyday, all day," Cana said, "you need to get out, get some friends, have fun."
"How can I make friends when everyone around me is scared of me?"
"We'll be your friends," Luna said.
"I know you're just trying to make me feel better."
"Listen blondie, if we were faking we wouldn't even be here right now," Cana started, "we really want to be your friend. Everyone should have at least one friend they can count on."
"You guys really want to be my friend?"
"Of course!" Luna smiled.
"Yeah what she said," Cana said still stuffing food in her mouth.
"Wow! This is so cool!"
"Woo-hoo," Cana cheered.
The bell rang.
"Breakfast is over." Lucy said grabbing her tray, "I'll see you guys around."
Cana and Luna went to go dump their trays in the dining hall.
"I didn't realize your mom was such a..."
"Loser?" Luna said dumping her tray.
"I was going to say underprivileged, but yeah, let's go with that."
"What is wrong with this school!? How could they do something like that to her!? It broke my heart seeing my mom like that."
She sighed, "I know kid."
A person came up behind them, startling them, "howdy guys!" Laki said.
"It's you again..." Cana said crackling her knuckles. Luna glared at her, making Cana surrender.
"It's time for your first class of the day. Here are your schedules..." She gave a piece of paper to both of them.
"Biology, art, world history, and culinary?" Luna said.
"Japanese history, chemistry, gym, and culinary." Cana said.
"Your uniforms are in your room. You must wear them during school hours which is eight to two, good luck Yall." She left into the hallway leaving the two of them clueless.
"At least we have one class together, culinary."
Cana scoffed, "you mind as well just kill me now. I can't stand gym! This schedule sucks."
"Yeah I know. I don't even know what half this stuff is."
"They don't have schools there?"
"No, my dad taught me how to read and write and that's pretty much it."
"Well, good luck, you're going to need it."
