Chapter 5
"M-Mom?" An involuntary tear came out of her eye. She ran up to her almost knocking her down, "I've missed you so much!"
"Umm, I think you have me mistaken for someone else," the woman said. She looked at Cana, but Cana just shrugged.
Luna her hugged just a little bit longer. She knew that she didn't know who she was but she just needed her mother's touch one more time, "I'm sorry, it's just... you look so much like her."
"It's fine. Do you guys need any help?"
Before Luna could speak up Cana inturrupted, "we need to see the Dean."
"Of course, right this way." She gestured them to follow her.
They were walking down a long hallway until Cana spoke to her.
"What the hell was that about?"
Luna looked at Cana, "get out of my head!"
"Not until you tell me what that was about."
"It was nothing I thought she was someone else."
"What, your mother? You and me both know that that wasn't a mistake."
"Why do you care?!"
"Because you can't let that slip out again. If she knows anything about you being her daughter then you may alter the future and there's a chance you may not exist!"
"Fine, it won't happen again."
The woman knocked on the door, "you have visitors, makarov."
"Let them in."
She opened the door and let them in, "please, sit down," he said. They went inside and she closed the door behind them, "so what can I do for you guys?"
"Well this may sound crazy..." Cana started.
"Trust me I've heard alot of crazy things in my time, so I doubt it."
"We've gotten a message from the future."
He started at them blankly, "ok, that may be the craziest thing I've ever heard."
"Hear us out, she was sent here from twenty ninety nine to warn us about these super soldiers that's supposed to wipe us all out including humans."
"I'm finding that hard to believe."
"Look old man..."
"Calm down Cana, it's ok." Cana sat back down in her seat.
"Three years from now a scientist named Veena is responsible for creating a species that's supposed to wipe out all us. I've watched Them kill my dad and my mom. I didn't come here so people like you can ridicule me. You will either listen to me or watch the same thing happen to your friends and family."
He folded his arms and leaned back in his chair, "and suppose I do believe you. How are we supposed to stop this from happening?"
"I still haven't gotten that far yet."
"What?!" Cana yelled.
"I knew this was a waste of time."
"I'm telling the truth! You have to belive me! My mother told me to come here and talk to you and convince you that all this is happening."
"Oh really? And who is you're mother?"
"Lucy Heartfilia."
His eyes bulged, "you gotta be kidding me?"
"I'm not."
He sighed, "do you have any proof?"
Luna looked down at her book. Her mother said no one should ever look at it but, she had no choice, "here read it. Everything you need to know is in that book."
He put on his glasses and skimmed through the book. His eyes started to widen. He kept turning until he picked up a familiar photo, "where did you get this photo?"
"It's my mom's."
"There is only one copy of this photo, and it's sitting on my desk." He turned around the picture frame and it was the exact same picture as the one he was holding in his hand.
"You believe me now?"
"Maybe a little," he said, "does your father also go here too?"
"Yeah, his name is Natsu Dragneel."
He spit out his coffee, "you're telling me those two got together... and had a kid!"
"Yeah is that a problem?"
"Those two aren't exactly friends."
"What do mean?"
"Lucys not the most popular kid around here. She can't control her powers which means..."
"She has to be isolated from society. Is that right?" Cana inturrupted.
"Yes. We don't know when she can have an episode so we have to separate her from everyone else."
"Tch, cowards. Why don't you actually try helping her instead of treating her like shit! Like she's a nobody! Like she's alone in this world!"
"Cana!" Luna yelled.
"I need some air. If you'll excuse me." She got up from the chair and slammed the door behind her.
"Listen, I don't have that much time. My mom told me when I came here that I needed to convince everyone that this is happening."
"Who are these people?"
"Jellal, Gajeel, Gray, Erza, Levy, Juvia, and my mom and dad."
He started laughing.
"What's so funny?"
"You had to pick the group of people who absolutely can't stand each other."
"What!? Who does get along here?"
"Everyone else."
"Why did this have to be so hard?!"
"Well if you really want to achieve your goal. You're going to have to enroll in fairy tail academy."
"Really? You'll let me in? I thought this school was for the gifted? Like smart people or something?"
"Yes and it's for people like you too." He stamped two pieces of paper and gave me a key, "Welcome to fairy tail academy."
Luna ran out the door to meet up with Cana, "we're in Cana! I have your key right here, we're roomates!" Luna saw her sitting on the stairs smoking a cigarette, looking dazed, "what's wrong Cana?"
"I think I should get going now."
"What do you mean? You can't leave now."
"I don't belong with these people."
"What's your problem? Is it about what happened back in there?"
"No... I mean yes." She turned, facing Luna, "I know how it feels to be treated like you're shit because of what you can't control."
"I do too."
"No you don't kid."
"Yes I do. I can't control my powers either. I get made fun of it everyday. I was always treated differently by everyone, even by my own parents." She sat next to Cana, "I do know what you're going through and that's why I'm not letting you go through it alone." Luna put out her hand out, reaching out to here, "so what do say? Are you with me or not?"
Cana chuckled, "you're a smart kid, but also stubborn."
"I get that alot."
Cana grabbed her hand, "I'm with you till the end of the line."
