Chapter 45

Gajeel watched as Lucy stared out the window, lost in space, "Damn, what did this chick do that was so bad that we have to move out suddenly?" He glanced down at her hands and saw what looked like blood smeared all over her hands up to her arms. His eyes practically bulged out of his head when he saw them, "there's no way blondie could do something like that..." he laughed to himself, "there's no way. She has to be one of the most innocent people I've ever met-" The sound of double doors closing from a car alerted Gajeel causing him to turn his head. It was an ambulance and a truck that had coroner written in black on it. Two men cam out of the hotel with a black bag on top of a gurney making the shape of a human body.

"Damn," said one of the paramedics, "the way that man died was bloody horrible."

"Literally," said another paramedic, "it looked like there were about twenty stab wounds just in his chest." The first paramedic shivered at the sight of the body laying on the floor when they arrived, "it was like somebody just snapped."

Gajeel's jaw was on the floor with his eyes bulged almsot out of his eye sockets. He started putting the clues and hints together as he slowly turned his head to Lucy, watching her as she stared out the window, "I'm in a car with a murderer!" He thought.

"Hey guys." The car door opened revealing Natsu. Relieved, Gajeel let out a breath of relief, happy, that he wasn't alone anymore. "Anything happen while we were upstairs?"

Gajeel turned toward Lucy, his eyes still widened, "Umm, nothing much."

"What about you Lucy?" Lucy continued staring out the window, deep in thought. Natsu sighed, "still not talking huh?" He placed his bag in the back and sat next to her. He gently rubbed her back making Lucy feel a little less tense about the whole situation, "its going to be ok Lucy. We all make mistakes."

"This wasn't just a mistake Natsu! She freaking murdered someone!" Gajeel thought.

Levy soon came rushing in, "What's up guys?" She got in the back, sitting next to Gajeel, "did you hear about that man over there?" Gajeel immediately tensed up, "I heard he got stabbed over a hundred times! They said they're calling it a homicide."

"Are you serious?" Natsu said, playing with Lucys blonde locks, "I wonder if the murderer is still here?"

"She's right next to you idiot!" Gajeel thought, now wanting to claw out his eyes because he can't tell his friends.

He thought next she would snap on them.

"Hello..." a sleep deprived Jellal came in the car.

"What's wrong with you?" Levy asked.

"Well I was trying to take a nap, until I heard screaming coming from the room next to ours."

"Screaming?" Levy asked, "What kind of screaming?"

"Like the sound of someone being... murdered or something." Jellal rubbed his eyes and stretched out his muscles, "but it was probably just their TV."

Gajeel appeared behind Jellal, shaking, "do you mind telling me what happened after that?"

"Well..." Jellal put his finger on his chin, "the only thing I can think of is after the screaming stopped Lucy came in telling us we had to leave."

"Oh my god!" Gajeel at this point was internally screaming his head off.

"Sheesh, people need to learn when to turn their TV's down. People may be trying to sleep." Natsu shook his head, "some people don't have any manners."

"I know you're not talking Natsu," Levy said, "you're the last person in this car with some manners."

"Hey!" He waved his fist around, "I can have manners."

"Yeah, when it's convenient." Levy smirked.

"Why you-"

"Oh my gosh guys!" Gajeel yelled, "don't you guys see what's happening here?!"

Everyone stared at him in confusion, "What are you talking about Gajeel?" Levy asked.

"Can't you see who the murderer is!?"

"You're going on about that?" Jellal yawned.

"Do you know who murdered that man Gajeel?" Levy asked.

He nodded his head, "and they're closer than you think," he said, the pitch of his voice getting higher and higher.

"Who is it?" Natsu asked.

"I don't know how to say it but... it's-" A powerful explosion went off on the side of the hotel, shaking the car, almost flipping it over. The windows shattered causing glass to fall all over them.

"What the hell was that?" Lucy said, coming back to her senses.

"I don't know, but it looked liked it came from the side of the hotel room we were staying on." Natsu said, pulling glass shards from his arm.

"You don't think..." Jellal looked at everyone making them all nod. They all rushed out running inside of the hotel.

The sound of an unbearable ringing invaded her ears as she tried sitting up. She groaned at the pain coming from her head, "Damn..." She whispered holding her head, "What the heck was that?"

She watched as people ran out of the hotel, some injured and others helping the injured. The building was falling apart as the flames erupted more and more. She was alarmed when she felt a wet substance coming from her head. She looked down at her hands and saw blood.

"Juvia! Juvia!" In the distance she heard her name, "Juvia! Juvia!"

"Huh?" She turned and saw Lucy, Jellal, and Natsu running toward her.

Natsu grabbed her face bringing her eyes in level with his, "are you ok?"

All she heard was a whisper. Her hearing was too clouded for her to understand what he was saying, "I don't know..."

He released his hands from her face and realized the blood dripping from her head onto his hands. With quick thinking, Natsu took off his shirt giving it to Lucy, "cover your mouth with this, the smoke in here is lethal." He grabbed Juvia, "I'll help her, you guys find the rest." He ran outside disappearing into the smoke.

Jellal took off his shirt, "Gray was probably with Juvia so search down here for him and help as many people as you can."

"Alright, but what about you?" Lucy said, her words a little muffled by Natsu's shirt.

"I'm going to go look for them." He wrapped his shirt around his nose and mouth and ran into the smoke, disappearing.

"Luna!" Cana screamed, "where are you!?" She felt the room shake. She ran towards one of the windows, "the buildings falling..."

Jellal rushed up the stairs, up to the fifth floor. The smoke in the air started to make it harder for him to breathe, "I'm coming guys. Just hold on for a little bit longer."

Erza rolled over on her back, "What the hell?" She sighed, closing her eyes, "I hope that wasn't us..."

She heard the door being kicked down, "Erza!" He yelled out her name. She recognized that voice anywhere.

"I'm in here!" She grabbed her chest in pain from the force of the blast.

He quickly rushed to where she was. He saw her on the ground and kneeled beside her, "are you ok? Are you hurt?"

"My chest hurts," Erza said grabbing her chest, coughing. Jellal took off his shirt and wrapped it around Erza's face.

He helped her get off the ground and back to her feet, "do you know where the others are?"

"I think they're in the other room." Erza coughed again, but more violently this time.

"Let's hurry."

"Gray!" Lucy yelled, trying to get through the screaming crowd of people, "Gray! Where are you?" She spotted a bathroom and ran towards it, hoping he was there. She ran inside and closed the door behind her. Luckily there wasn't that much smoke in there. She took off the shirt, going into a coughing fit. She looked up and saw two vents. Immediately she ran up to them and closed them, not allowing anymore smoke to come in. As she was going to the last one she spotted a wheelchair and a body laying on the floor. She rushed and saw Gray on the floor, unconscious.

"Gray!" She closed the last vent and ran to his side. She flipped him over and examined his body making sure he wasn't injured badly, "Gray wake up!" She shook his body, "I need you to wake up now!"

He groaned and struggled to open his eyes, "come on Gray..."

He opened his eyes half way, "Shit my head..." he raised his hands up blocking the light coming from the ceiling, "what happened?"

"An explosion went off and we need to get out of here."

Gray came back to his senses, "Where's my chair?" Lucy quickly grabbed it and helped him on, "so where is everyone else?"

"How the hell do they expect us to stop this?" Gajeel yelled. Watching the building fall apart from the flames.

"They don't expect us to stop it..." Levy took off her jacket, throwing it on the side, while taking out a pen from her pocket, "we just need to give them some time." The pen began to light up along with her body. Gajeel watched her in amazement as he watched her, remembering her capabilities.

"I need you to start making support beams that go up to the top floor and put them all around the building." Levy began drawing out of thin air with her pen. The glowing lights lit up the thick smoke that filled the sky, "I'll handle the smoke." The lights revealed a large fan that was as tall as the third floor of the building.

"Luna! Where are you!" Cana screamed looking under random pieces of rubble, "where are you?!"

"Cana..." She heard a faint whisper from behind her.

"Luna? Was that you!?" Using her abilities she lifted pieces of rubble from behind her.

"Cana..." She heard the faint whisper again, causing her to go insane.

"You have to tell me where you are Luna!" She screamed, using her hands to dig through the pile of debris, "Luna! Answer me!" She kept digging through the debris. It seemed the more she dug the deeper it became.

"Luna!" She screamed again, "Luna!"
