Chapter 40
Chelia and Mira pulled into a driveway.
"Woah!" Chelia yelled looking out the windshield, "you didn't tell me you were freaking loaded! This place is a castle."
"I wouldn't say loaded, more like, more than average."
"Yeah, this is way more than average. What exactly do you do? Are you a drug lord or something?"
Mira laughed, "Nope, I'm a writer."
"What!? Writers can afford this?"
"Depends on if your books are selling." She opened the front door, revealing her luxurious lifestyle.
Chelia's eyes widened, "I wanna become a writer too."
Mira giggled, "make yourself at home."
Chelia walked around the living room examining everything. Since she hasn't been anywhere except fairy tail academy, this was all knew for her, "Hey Mira?"
Mira poked her head out from the kitchen, "what's up?"
Chelia grabbed her stomach as it let out a embarrassing loud growl, "do you have anything to eat?"
Mira smiled, "sure, what are you in the mood for? Italian? Chinese?"
"Can you make me an omelette?" Chelia's eye lit up.
Mira stared at her confused, "Why an omelette?"
"I never had one. I always wanted to try one."
Mira grabbed her head, "you mean to tell me you never had an omelette before! What kind of prison are you living in?!" Mira paced back and forth, "this is just unacceptable. This should be considered a crime!"
"A crime?"
"A crime I tell you!" Mira grabbed her spatula and raised it in the air, "I'm going to make you the best darn omelette you're ever going to eat in your life!"
A smile formed in the corner of Chelia's mouth. For a second this woman she just met made her forget all the bad that is happening to her.
"Get in here so you can watch me!" Mira said from the kitchen.
"Coming!"
"Juvia!" Natsu yelled out, "Juvia! Please come out!" This was the last place he could think of to search.
"I'm over here." She whispered, but loud enough for him to hear.
He looked in the direction where the voice came from and saw Juvia sitting on the ledge.
"Dammit Juvia, you can't just run off like that." Natsu sat beside her, dangling his legs over the edge. He took a deep breath, "She didn't mean that y'know."
She scoffed, "Yes she did."
"Yeah... I know."
"Why does she think that everything has to go her way!? Not everything is about her! This is the exact reason why we're not friends anymore."
"Was what she said true? Did that really happen?"
She sighed, "when me and Gray broke up, I was devastated. I needed something to ease the pain, so yes, I did throw myself around, if you want to call it that."
"Why did you guys even break up? Everyone thought you guys would be together for practically forever."
"Let's say I had to for a friend."
"Wait a minute! You broke up with Gray?" Natsu said, bursting out laughing.
"Hey! What is that supposed to mean?"
Natsu wiped a stray tear from his eyes, "I would've never thought you would be the one to break up with Gray. Ever since we were in middle school you were crazy about him. You stalked him at him at one point."
Juvia giggled, "yeah I was crazy about him back then... and I still am. But I had to choose between him or one of the most important people in my life."
"You shouldn't have to give up your happiness for one person, you need to think about yourself. You matter. If that person can't understand that, then they don't need to be in your life."
"Wow, those are some wise words. Never would have that you would be the one to say something..." She put her hand on her chin, "so smart." She smirked.
He gently pushed her, "Hey! I can be serious when it's necessary."
Juvia laughed, "and the rest of the time your a goofball."
They both laughed. Natsu glanced at his watch, "we have to leave in a little bit." He stood up, hopping off the ledge back onto safe ground, offering Juvia a hand, "we should get going."
Juvia gladly took his hand, "thanks Natsu, I really mean it."
"No problem Juvia, it's what friends are for." He smiled. He wrapped his arm around Juvias shoulder, reminiscing about the past.
"So now you can add your Vegetables and meat," Mira said.
Chelia looked at all the options around her. There was spinach, red onions, tomatoes, hash browns, ham, and sausage. Chelia stared at the ingredients trying to figure out what she wanted.
"I usually add everything in my omelette for an explosion of flavor." Mira said, imitating an explosion.
"I guess I'll have everything," Chelia smiled.
"Good choice." Mira threw all the ingredients with the eggs and waited a few minutes to flip it.
Chelia closed her eyes and took in the delicious smell of the ham and sausage, "that smells so good."
"It taste even better than it smells." Mira smiled, placing the plate in front of her, topping it off with a layer of shredded cheese, "eat up."
Chelia grabbed her fork and slowly dug her fork into the eggs, grabbing a handful of sweet vegetables and meat. Her mouth watered as she watched the cheese stretch from the plate all the way to her mouth. She took her first bite and was sent to a food paradise, "this is so good! How did you learn how to cook like this?"
"I just learned on my own. When you don't have anyone to cook for you, you have to teach yourself." Chelia took another bite of the omelette, amusing Mira, "so..." Mira crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair, "you wanna tell me why you were on the side of the road earlier?"
