Chapter 4

"Be careful, there syndicates crawling all over this place," Cana said.

"Syndicates? What are those?"

"Where do you live? Under a rock? Ever since the incident twenty years ago, humans created syndicates to hunt down meta humans and keep us under control."

"What happened twenty years ago?"

"A meta human decided to go out and wipe out an entire country."

"What!? Why would they do that?"

"I don't know. Since no one knows his real name they call him the god of death," She scoffed, "people actually worship that sick bastard. He's the reason why so many of us are getting killed."

She scanned around the corner to make sure there was no sign of any syndicates, "lets get going. I know a guy with a car that can get us there."

They arrived outside of a repair shop.

"What the hell do you think you're doing here?!" A man came out.

"Hey Bacchus, take it easy, I need a favor."

"Why should I do anything for you after what happened!?"

"What do you want me to do? Hold your hand while you cry or something?"

Luna tugged on Cana's shirt, "I think when you're asking for favors you should be nice, you know, just an idea."

"Quiet, I know what I'm doing," She whispered.

"You stood me up Cana! I looked like a fool in that restaurant. The manager had to come out and give me free cake just so I could stop crying!"

"I'm sorry Bacchus, I promise I'll make it up to you, just please..." She went up to him grabbing the collar of his shirt giving him a passionate kiss, "for me?"

"I think I'm going to be sick," Luna said, covering her mouth.

He was in a daze, "Anything for you."

"Great!"

"Ok, since none of my newer cars are available we will have to ride in this bad boy." He took off a sheet revealing an old run down car.

"Bacchus... is this a joke?"

"What do you mean? This is a classic."

"A classic piece of trash! This thing looks like it can't even get out the driveway!"

"Oh come on, at least try it out before you start complaining."

"Fine, but if this thing blows up when I start it I'm haunting you till the day you die." She got in car.

"The keys are in the dash." She put the key in.

"The engine sounds pretty good," She said.

"I told you, now let me go get my jacket and we can go."

"Ok sweetheart." She batted her eyes.

When he was inside Cana put the car in drive, "Wait! I thought we were bringing him too?"

"Not exactly." She pressed her foot on the gas going full speed.

"Ahh! You're crazy you know that!" Luna screamed.

"And I'm proud of it!" She turned into traffic almost causing multiple accidents.

"Hey! Hey!" Bacchus started screaming in the distance.

"Don't worry babe! I'll bring it back in one piece! Woo-hoo!"

He sighed, "Why do I keep trusting her?"

It's been about two hours since they started their journey toward fairy tail academy.

"I'm guessing your not from around here," Cana said.

"Not exactly."

"So where you from kid?"

"Can't you just read my mind?"

Cana chuckled, "my power can only stretch so far. I can only see things that happened in the last twelve hours."

"Don't you ever think you can do more than that?"

"More than what?"

"You know... Expand your powers."

"No thanks, dealing with this is enough. I just got control over the voices in my head."

"Voices?"

She sighed, "I didn't get my powers until I was ten and when I got my powers they also came with the voices. I thought they were just voices in my head until I realized they were from other people."

"Woah! It must be cool being able to read people's mind and stuff!"

"Yeah, but it also comes with a price. Being a meta human in today's society, sucks."

Luna continued looking out the window, "It's just as bad here as it is back home."

"You still haven't told me where you're from."

"What if I told you I'm from the future?"

Cana bursted out laughing, "hahaha! Good one kid." She looked back at Luna to see her serious expression, "please tell me you're kidding?"

"Does it look like I am?"

"Kid you must have skipped your meds today because that's literally impossible."

"Not where I'm from."

"Ok I'll bite, what time are you from?" She tried, stifling in her laughter.

"Year twenty ninety nine."

"Shit! That's twenty seven years from now."

"Yeah and three years from now it all goes to hell."

She looked at her serious expression, "W-What do you mean?"

"According to my mom, a scientist named Veena created what my time has called super soldiers. They're supposed to hunt and kill us. Now they're starting to kill humans."

"What!? What do you mean? They can't do that!"

"Well that's what happened."

"How many of us are left?"

"Not many, probably a couple thousand, max." Luna looked down in her lap, "I was sent back here to stop her from creating them, but first I need to get to fairy tail academy."

"If what you're telling me is true and I'm not saying it isn't, why would they send a kid?"

"My mom was supposed to go, but they ended up having to send me instead."

"What happened to you're mom?"

"I dont know. I didnt get a chance to see her after they..." she sighed, "She's probably dead right now..."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset."

"It's fine, but right now I can't let them down. They didn't send me back here for nothing."

"Well, I'm with you all the way kid," Cana smiled. She looked back at the road, "we're here."

Luna looked up from the windshield, "It's huge."

"Well, it is fairy tail."

They parked the car and walked toward the door.

Cana pounded on the door, "sheesh Cana! Don't be so loud!"

"How else are they gonna hear me?" She continued banging on the door until someone spoke.

"I'm coming!" They opened the door.

Luna gasped.

The woman was a blonde girl with chocolate eyes, "can I help you guys?"

"M-Mom?"
