Chapter 39
"I still don't understand why we have to leave." Natsu said, watching Lucy pack her stuff.
"We just do ok!" Lucy said, frustrated. Natsu noticed how tense she was as she was stuffing her things in her bag.
"Is everything ok?"
"Everything is fine." She slammed another item into her bag, "make sure you tell the others to pack up too." She slammed the door behind her leaving a extremely confused Natsu behind.
Luna ran down the halls of each floor searching for her best friend, "Cana?" She whispered, making sure not to disturb the other guest in their rooms. She saw Lucy walking down the hallway making her face light up. Maybe this was the break she needed.
"Lucy!" She ran towards her, "have you seen Cana? I ve been searching everywhere for her." Lucy didn't bother to even look her direction as she sped walk past her, "Mom?" She whispered, as she saw Lucys infuriated expression.
Luna swung the door open, alarming Natsu. He grabbed his chest and let out a huge breath, "you can't just barge in here like that." He said.
"Where's Cana? I've been looking for her all day."
"Last time I checked she was in her room." Natsu said, his eyes now glued back to the tv.
"Thank you." Luna ran to her room to see Cana staring at the ceiling with her blankets wrapped around her body, "there you are!" She closed the door behind her and stomped toward her, "I've been looking for you everywhere. You didn't come back to eat with us and I was getting worried."
She hopped on the bed next to her, "Well where were you?" Luna said, rocking Cana back and forth, but that didn't affect her in the slightest bit. Luna was starting to get worried, "Cana?" She observed her and noticed that she was pale and had the most saddest and lost expression on her face, "are you ok?"
"I'm fine." She sniffed, "everything's fine." She took a deep breath, still staring at the ceiling.
Luna sighed and laid next to her. Their silence spoke a thousand words.
"Hey kid, don't ever let someone take advantage of you." Cana said, breaking the silence, "promise me that."
Luna turned her head facing Cana while Cana did the same facing Luna. Luna moved her hand closer to Cana's wrapping her pinky finger around hers. They both faced the ceiling again, their fingers still wrapped around each other.
"Hey, I'm just the messenger." Natsu said, putting his hands up in defense.
"Where are we going after we leave here? Is she not thinking where we're going to sleep?" Erza said.
"Calm down Erza, I'm sure she has a good reason for this." Juvia said.
Erza scoffed, "you're all idiots!" Erza grabbed her hair in frustration.
"Who are you calling an idiot?" Juvia crossed her arms, "What? Daddy's little princess can't sleep in a car for a little while. Such a spoiled brat."
"I'm not as trashy as you lockser. At least I don't go around throwing myself at everyone because my dear beloved Gray won't take me back so I have to go around throwing myself at every moving thing. You're a slut."
Something inside Juvia snapped as she landed a punch on Erza's jaw. Erza fought back, stratching Juvias cheek and kicking her in the gut. Juvia tackled Erza to the ground, knocking the air out of her. Juvia landed a few more punches before Natsu, Jellal, and Gajeel pulled them away from each other.
"What the hell is going on here?" Gajeel yelled, holding back Juvia.
"Ask her." Erza said, wiping the blood dripping from her mouth.
"What's going on?" Gajeel asked. Juvia was too angry to even speak, "Juvia! Answer me!"
She broke loose from Gajeel's grip, "screw all of you." She wiped the blood from her face and headed toward the door, "don't ever come near me again!" She slammed the door behind her, knocking down a few of the pictures on the wall.
Jellal and Natsu released their hold on Erza, letting her sit on the couch.
"You went too far, again." Natsu said, folding his arms.
"Why should I care? Why should I care about any of this! I didn't sign up for this shit!" Erza laughed as Natsu stared at her with a disappointed expression, "Oh I'm sorry, you want me to apologize to her and then we will best friends and ride off into the sunset. Bullshit."
"You're really messed up, you know that." Natsu said, following after Juvia.
"Tell me something I don't know." She whispered.
Jellal stood there still suprised at what happened, "why did you do that?"
"You're mad at me too?" She chuckled, "by now there should be enough people to make a I hate Erza fan club."
"Nobody hates you."
"Oh really? What do you call what just happened? She looked at me with hatred. I could feel her blood boiling as I kept talking." She sighed, "I hit her where it hurts, just like my dad taught me."
Jellal sighed and sat next to her, "you don't have to be like your father. You are more than just his daughter."
"No I'm not. Without him I wouldn't be who I am today. Without his power... I'm nobody." She stood from the couch, holding her bloody nose, "I'll be in here if you need me." She grabbed a bottle of booze and closed the door to her room.
