Chapter 38

Chelia walked down the side of the road with nothing except the clothes on her back. Tired and malnourished from the long journey she sat down on the sidewalk watching as the cars sped by her.

She wiped the sweat from her face, "I don't even know what to do? If Wendy was here..." Tears began forming in the corner of her eyes, "...She would know what to do."

She watched the sky as it darkened turning into night. Emotions running through her head as she stared at the glistening night sky. She stretched her hand to the sky, doing the one thing she only knows how to do in situations like this.

Wish.

"Bring her back to me..." She said, sadness and guilt laced in her voice.

She turned to the outburst to the side of her and immediately turned away from the blinding headlights. A stranger walked out of their car, "are you ok?" They yelled.

Chelia covered her eyes the best she could from the headlights. She stared at the stranger walking toward her, mixed emotions running inside her. The stranger bent down, "I saw you from down the road." They glanced down at Chelia noticing her injuries that covered her from head to toe, "you poor thing..." She reached out her hand but only resulted in Chelia slapping it away.

"Don't touch me." She backed away slowly.

The stranger reached her hand out to her, "I'm not here to hurt you. I just wanna-"

"You just wanna what? Protect someone from off the street? I could be a murderer or a thief for all you know."

Chelia, still covering her eyes from the headlights, noticed a small smile forming in the corner of her mouth, "I'm going to go with my gut and say you're not any of those things." She tried once again, reaching her hand out, "don't leave me hanging kid."

Chelia stared at her hand, wondering what her options were. Stay out here and die from hunger and thirst? Or go with this person she doesn't know and risk it all trusting this person?

She sighed as she grabbed their hand, "if I see one sign of any funny business..."

"Trust me. I'm not like that." They helped Chelia get back on her feet.

As Chelia dusted her clothes off she took a glance at the person.

It was a woman. A beautiful woman. Chelia stared at her in awe as the moonlight enhanced her features and the wind blowing her pure white hair making her even more irresistible.

"By the way, the names Mirajane. But you can call me Mira." She smiled.

"Chelia."

"Beautiful name." She said earning a blush from Chelia, "so where you headed to Chelia?"

"Honestly, I don't even know."

"Ooh, are you one of those adventurous type of people who just go wherever the wind takes them."

"Umm yeah?" Chelia said, shrugging her shoulders. She knew she couldn't tell anyone about what's really going on. She didn't know who to trust.

"I wish I could do that, but responsibilities." She walked to her car but not before looking back at a frozen Chelia, "are you coming or not?" She giggled.

"Oh right..." She got in the passenger seat and buckled in waiting for Mirajane to start their journey.

"Does my house sound nice?" She started her car.

"That's fine with me." Chelia continued staring out the window ignoring Mirajane's presence only making Mira sigh.

"This is going to be a long night."
