Chapter 2
Year 2072
Tokyo, Japan
9:45 PM
"Hey look over there! What's that light?"
A crowd began to form, watching the bright light as it fell from the sky.
"What is that mom?" A little girl asked her mother.
"I have no idea honey."
Men in uniform stared at the blinding light, "Do you know what it is General?"
"No, but I'll send a team out to find out."
In an open field, the light crashed down making a crater for miles into the ground. Luna grabbed her head feeling a bit of blood, "Ouch! That really hurt." She glanced at the button on the side of the door reading the words eject. She reached over and slammed her fist on the button making the seatbelts in the chamber release her. As soon as she stepped out of the machine she felt as if her stomach turned upside down.
She ran outside throwing up whatever contents she had left in her stomach, "so much for that shot Aunt Lev." She wiped her mouth and observed her surroundings, "where am I?"
She looked around to see if there were any clues to where she was. Then she remembered.
"The book." She reached into her bag and grabbed the book. She opened it but a couple of letters fell out. She picked them up and read them.
They were love letters.
"Why would there be love letters in here?" She skimmed through the book, "December 25, 2072," She read.
"Today's Christmas, but I have no one to celebrate it with. Everyone is having a good time with their friends downstairs but of course, I'm not allowed to go. I still don't have any control over my powers. They think I'm a threat to them. This school is supposed to teach me how to control it, but why am I still struggling?"
She turned through the other pages, and almost every page was like this.
"Is this mom's diary? Why would she give me her diary? Did she make a mistake and gave me this instead?"
She tried to see if her mom wrote anything on the day she left. The last day she wrote was June fifth, 2099, A few days before they were attacked.
"We're finally almost done building it. The plan will be here before we know it. This is our last chance, Our last chance to stop her plans, to save the future." Luna noticed a few tears marks staining the paper causing the ink to smudge, "I'm the only one capable of traveling back, which means I have to leave them behind. Natsu, Luna, I hope you can forgive me for leaving you behind, but I have to do this for your future."
She flipped the pages. Pictures and pictures were piled in the book. But one caught the interest of Luna. A picture of her mom and dad.
She touched it, "they look so happy. I've never seen them like that."
She kept flipping through the book until she found a map.
It leads to a school.
Fairy tail academy, School for the gifted.
"Mama went to this school. I remember her talking about it. That's where she met daddy and everyone else."
"It's in Tokyo, Japan. Is that where I am now?"
Her head shot up. She could hear sirens heading in her direction. She gathered her stuff and started running to find somewhere to hide. Trucks, tanks, police cars, and any kind of military weapon you could think of was heading in her direction.
A car not like the others drove in front of them.
A woman and a man got out of the car. She was a black-haired woman with olive skin, piercing blue eyes, and a scar that went down her jawline. She had a lab coat on with a few stains of blood on it.
"Wait a minute. I've seen her in here." She skimmed through the book. She knew she saw her from somewhere, "Veena is her name."
She was one of the scientists responsible for the syndicates.
"Do you know what it is mam?" An officer asked her.
She put on her glasses, "it looks like a ship of some kind, but I may be wrong." She went inside and observed it, "search the perimeter, someone was in here and it was recently."
The soldiers followed her orders and went to search.
"Make sure you bring this to my lab in the next three hours. I want to examine it further, and if you find the specimen that was in here, bring them to me, alive."
"Understood." She got back in her car and drove off.
Luna peaked up from the rock she was hiding behind to see where the soldiers were.
"Two to my right. Two in front. I got this, I think." She took out a firecracker that she stole from her dad a little while ago during one of her birthday parties.
"Please tell me my powers are back." She tried to use her powers but it wasn't working since her mom gave her that shot to contain her powers, "come on, come on!" A little flame emitted from her finger, "Yes!"
She lit the firecracker and threw it, "fire in the hole!"
A loud boom was heard which was the cue for Luna to run like hell. The soldiers were too distracted by the explosion to even notice.
But one soldier was one step ahead, "Hey! There's the alien! Get it!"
"I'm not an alien!" She yelled.
She ran into a busy market place, "Excuse me! Pardon me!" She was jumping over tables and maneuvering through people in the streets.
"Stop that girl!" One of the soldiers yelled.
Luna kept running and running trying to escape the market place. As she was running she grabbed some clothes and a bit of food.
"Hey! You need to pay for that!"
"Sorry! I'm on a mission right now, maybe later!"
"This is useless captain! We're never going to catch up with her!"
"Go around and block all the exits."
"Yes sir!"
As Luna was running she caught a glimpse of two soldiers trying to surround her.
"Stop! Or I will shoot!" One soldier pointed the gun at her.
She kept running towards him.
"I said stop! I will shoot!" His hand was shaking in fear, "Why isn't she stopping?!" He thought.
She kicked the gun from his hand.
He threw a punch at her, but she dodged it
She kneed his stomach, knocking him to the ground.
"Hey!" Another soldier came around the corner, with his gun pointed at her.
Before he could shoot, she picked up the other soldiers' gun and shot him in his shoulder making him collapse to the ground, gabbing his wound.
"She's over there! Get her!"
"These guys don't quit!" She said. She kept running, trying to look for an exit. She saw a blockade of soldiers waiting for her at the exit.
"Crap!" She turned into an alleyway and ran into an apartment building.
She sat down, exhausted from all the running.
"What are you doing here?" Luna turned to see a girl with bubble gum pink hair and green eyes staring at her. She couldn't have been older than her.
"I was running," Luna said.
"Why were you running?"
"Because bad men are chasing me."
"Why? Did you do something wrong?"
"No."
"Then why are they chasi-"
"Look, I don't have that much time. I need to get out of here and get to fairy tail academy."
"Why do you want to go there?"
"I need to find somebody very important. Do you know where it is?"
"It's about twenty miles from here in that direction," she pointed.
"Great," She thought, lightly banging the back of her head on the wall.
"If you follow this road it should lead you straight there."
We both turned to the vigorous banging at the door, "come out! We know you're in there!"
"Gotta run!. Thanks for the directions!" They tore down the door about to fire at her but she was already out the window.
"It would be nice if I had my powers," She said.
"Nobody gets in or out!" The soldier yelled, "you have orders to shoot on sight."
She gulped. She knew she was going to have to do something risky if she wanted to escape.
She pulled her hood overhead, covering her face. She blended in with the crowd, sneaking past soldier after soldier.
"I don't understand how can't we catch this brat. Let me get a crack at this girl, I'll show her some respect."
"Oh really?" Luna thought, cracking her knuckles.
She crept up behind the both of them, slowly, knocking their heads into each other, knocking them out cold.
"I'm still waiting for you to show me that respect."
She dug around their uniforms to find anything useful.
Four grenades.
A gun.
Half-eaten snickers bar.
"This will do." She went as close to the blockade as she could. She pulled the pin from the grenade and threw it at the blockade but not close enough to kill them.
"Grenade!" The explosion separated the soldiers, making a clear path for her to go through.
But she would have to make it quick.
She pulled out the gun just in case.
They were people running in all directions, screaming, panicking.
A good diversion for her to sneak past them.
She walked with her head down and ran right past them.
"Next stop, fairy tail academy."
