Cooking The Very Best
A four course meal that is elegant and even worth tasting without a staff of my own. Instead, Mr. Satan makes me sound like I am the best chef in the whole universe. He made me sound like I don't need a staff, just these two hands.
Well, I have never done a four course meal all by myself in a time constraint. Honstly, this can turn out to be a complete failure or the best thing since the battle against Buu.
I just hope I can live up to the legend Mr. Satan made up for me.
"Could you possibly tell me everything you told them about me?" I asked Mr. Satan as I started putting a half apron on and hooking a cloth on my pants to dry my hands.
"Well, you have a legend that is as great as my great legend."
"So you made me seem like the goddess of cooking. Good show."
"You can do it! Don't sell yourself so short! You are talented. I wouldn't have signed you up if I didn't know you could do it."
"But I have never done something like this before! I'm suppose to have a team of chefs."
"But you are no ordinary chef, Akari." Then his voice got down to a whisper. "You are a Saiyan chef. Saiyans do the impossible all the time. You can do it. I know you can." He smiled and I half smiled back.
"Besides, you wouldn't want to let anyone down."
"Not at all... not at all." I said, folding my arms as the alarm rang out.
We were now starting this stressful competition. I started by making my home made ramen noodles to make fresh ramen for a course. I also went to prep my vegetables for it and for my other dishes.
Then my phone decides to ring. It was Vegeta on the other line.
"Hey, Katarina, what is the greatest food you can think of?"
"Really?! You are asking me that question now?!"
"Well, you are a chef. You know food."
"I'm kinda busy, hun. But if it's to impress Whis, then I would do something unpredictable." I said as I sliced carrots, onions, and other various vegetables.
"Okay, thanks."
"No problem, Veggie."
"Really?"
"I'm just messing with you, Vegeta. Love ya, gotta go, wish me luck!"
"Knock 'Em dead, Katarina." He said and I smirked.
"Will do, Prince Vegeta." I said as I hung up the phone. Next I had to break down the chicken for the main course.
After awhile I was able to season the chicken, throw it in a skillet and let the skin get extra crispy.
I started to make the rice for my main course, which was going to be seame chicken and pork fried rice. It took awhile to cook rice.
I was also starting my other course of sushi wraps. Skillfully cutting some raw tuna, do make some spicy tuna wraps. I also had to try and make other courses, as well make then elegant. I had to level up all of these different dishes to make them out of this world.
I was doing pretty well with no sous chefs around my kitchen, just myself, the ingredients, culinary know-how, and the clock. I needed to keep going with this whole competition, I needed to show my best.
After a bit, the clock was running down, now I needed plate my creations. The clock ran down even more as I plated my last course.
Time was called and I basically was collapsing from the pure exhaustion of the competition. It was now time for the judging. Was I going to make Mr. Satan proud or be a laughing stock...
Other chefs went and walked around looking at their competition. I didn't even bother, I was tired.
"Ha! A home chef entering by themselves? They don't stand a chance in this at all. I've won for the past five years." A blond female chef said. Her messy bun, make-up, and the way she talked definetly showed how she was. She was the stereotypical I always get my way kind of girl from I gathered.
She then found me, the home chef. "Well, this must be the home chef. No one would ever try to make sesame chicken and pork fried rice if they weren't already and amateur." She laughed as she saw my plates for the judges. "You won't even stand a chance, home chef." She said right to my face and then she walked away, her kitchen staff behind her, snickering.
I wasn't a professional at all. I was just a home cook, how could I ever win?
The judges now came to my booth where at first glance they didn't seemed to be amazed.
"What is your first dish?" One judge asked as I handed them the bowls.
"This is handmade ramen, a great way to start off the whole meal." I said and they looked at me as if I were crazy. They nodded and started eating. They really enjoyed it, really getting into it.
"This is amazing! This is probably the best bowl of elevated ramen I have ever eaten!" The judge said as he basically ate everything in the bowl.
The other judges loved it too!
"Next course please?"
"My next course is a spicey tuna roll." And I served the plates and they happily ate.
They had huge smiles, like how Whis smiles when he eats something amazing.
Afterwords they wanted the next course, which was my main course that was sesame chicken and pork fried rice.
They again were overjoyed and loved my dish! They were utterly speechless.
"This reminds me of home! This is delicious!" One judge said as he basically cleaned his plate, unable to help himself.
"And your final course?" The other judge asked, excited like.
"My final course is a fluffy Japanese Cheesecake." And as soon as I served it they took a bite and seemed to melt.
"Oh my goodness! This is incredible!" They said as they kept on eating. Afterwords they set down their plates and bowed, myself bowing to them.
They left with a joyful smile on their face, which made me smile from ear to ear. Mr. Satan came along and saw me out of my kitchen.
"Well? How did it go, Akari?"
"They left with full bellies and a warm smile on their face." I smiled and he smiled too.
"I knew you could do it, Akari. You are exactly how I described you to everyone." Mr. Satan said.
Maybe I could pull this off.
"Now we are going to announce the winner of our culinary competition. Please meet in front of the stage." The speakers bellowed the loud message.
Everyone gathered and one judge walked up to the microphone.
"Our winner today is quite a surprising entry in our competition. Our winner is... Akari Son of Satan City!"
I cried tears of joy as I came up on stage. The blond chef from earlier was bawling her eyes out as I walked on stage.
"She doesn't even have any others with her! She should be disqualified!" The blond chef said as black mascara ran down her face, making her look like a sad raccoon.
"She truly has shown this competition who's boss just competing by herself, beautiful job chef Son!" The judge said as he placed a metal around my neck. I smiled as they took pictures of me. Mr. Satan made sure his assistants were getting brilliant pictures of me for the newspaper.
"There she is! My chef!" Mr. Satan yelled as I walked down.
I just won a competition all by myself.
I called Vegeta.
"Hey Vegeta! Guess what!"
"What?"
"I won my competition!"
"That's my Katarina! Guess what!"
"What?"
"I'm going to be Whis' student!"
