"It a boy!" The nurse says to the patient, a woman that just gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy. The nurse is holding the dirty baby boy, who is crying from being out of his mother's belly. But his crying isn't annoying anyone, but instead calming everyone down. It has a beautiful melody that no one knows how it happened but they aren't complaining. This baby is not like the others, it has something special that no other seem to have.

The nurse took the baby out to be clean while the woman laid down onto the bed, finally being able to relax. Her husband right next to her, having the widest smile in his entire life. He could compare this day as when he got married to the most perfect woman in this world. Even without saying anything they could agree with something, no matter what happens, they will always make sure this baby has the happiest life. But what will the future hold?

The baby seems to be a calm baby, just like his mother. He got the most delicate face, it reminds them of the woman's face, such beauty. Having such adorable chubby cheeks and the brightest brown eye that rivals the man. When the nurse gave the baby to the mother, the baby broke into the widest smile a baby could master, it seemed he knew who his parents were.

The happiest family, who knew that the world hated them so much to crumpled everything that they hold deeply into their heart. To break them like they didn't worth anything. To shatter everything. Who knew people dislike this type of people.

___

The child always wore a smile. It such a bright smile that people compare it to the sun. Who was brighter? That question always appears in their minds when they meet the bright, happy kid. He has a good family, the best one out there. They would always be there for him, no matter what happens. They made sure that their kid was protected from the danger of the world.

He was always so happy, nice and positive at his school that the other student like him from the very start. He would always think about the good thing and move away from the bad things. He was always so optimist, and even smile when he makes a mistake. His life is always happy.

Yet, life can't be happy for too long. No matter how much you try, sadness will appear right in front of you. Yes, it will slowly, and painfully, go away but you can't avoid it. That is just how life is, you experience emotions and that how it goes. But how much sadness can a human take until they give up? How much it too much? Sadly, we can't control how much we can take, we can't say "that is too much sadness, please give me another emotion."

__

Some people are the definition of pain. They cause pain to other people. They don't care about other people's emotions. They just want to crush them, like they are worth nothing at all. They want to grab their heart and crush it with their own hands, watching as the heart slowly break into pieces. Especially the ones who are smiling no matter what. The like, enjoy, watching the happy kids slowly break into tears.

Breaking their useless little hearts. Torturing their so call wonderful lives. Life is cruel, they taught him that the hard way. It just how it is. That is life, no one will be able to change it. Everyone is different.

"P-Please s-stop," it wasn't enough. They keep going no matter when the kid pleaded. They keep kicking him, they didn't leave any spot unharmed. They did that every day, dragging him away from the others and make sure no one saw. Whoever saw what was happening didn't have the courage to tell the teachers, afraid that they might do the same to him.

He was six when they started bullying him. Yet that didn't break him. With bruises showing no matter how much he tries to hide them, he would always try to be happy for others. He wanted to make others people happy, he didn't care about himself. He loves when a person would show him the most beautiful smile they could master. They didn't need to know how much he silently cried in his room.

His mother and father didn't need to know. But the found out and tried to do something about it. The school didn't have any evidence to prove that the bruises were created in the school. The kid kept telling his parents that it was his fault, that he keeps falling when he's playing. It was always like that. He kept telling excuses when a new bruise was created, the other students that witness didn't tell anyone about what really is happening.

It was always like that. He lived like that. He was used to it. Six years living like that. But that didn't make him stop smiling. He would smile no matter what. His lips bleeding, who cares. He would always smile, make friends and your thing a normal kid would be doing. He ignored everything else. How he gets bully by more people. How some of his friends betray him and join on hurting him. He ignored how slowly his heart was breaking. That is until he realized how much the changed him. He didn't realize that his heart is couldn't take it anymore.

His bright eyes, full of happiness, became dull and empty. His smile and laughs turn into nothing at all, with no emotions in it. He began to smile less until he didn't smile at all. He didn't care about anyone anymore. They were all worthless, just like himself. He would always sit in the corner alone. He suddenly stopped speaking at all. What is the point anyway? He realizes why he liked to make people smile. It was because that the only happiness he will get.

But it didn't stop there. Oh how much he wishes it did. He stopped seeing his dad less. He would sometimes hear screaming from his mom and dad. Every night he could hear them argue. He couldn't sleep at all. His mom and dad weren't like this. They were always happy, they always protected him from the danger of this world.

He never saw his parents together. His father would sleep on the sofa while his mother in the bed they used to sleep together. Why did this happen to him? He saw how his family slowly crumble into pieces. When his dad would leave to work, he could sometimes hear his mom crying inside her room. Those cry never left his head.

That is until his dad left the house. That broke him, his perfect family broken. He could take how him father smile at him sadly while he already had his things packed. That was a fake smile, he could see it clearly because that was the smile he used. He didn't understand why his dad left. He wanted to ask her mother but he couldn't. He didn't want to hurt her more.

Soon after, he found his mother getting cuts in her body. How is she getting those? He saw how every day, a new one appear. He saw how his mother smile slowly disappeared just like his. He missed his mother beautiful smile. He missed his mother. He missed his father. What happened to the happiest family? That is until a nightmare happened. That image will never leave his mind no matter how much he tries. His mother with a razor in her hand cutting herself. She didn't notice him he was there.

He back away and ran to his room. That is where his nightmare started to get worse. His mother was worthless. His father was worthless. What was the point in living if every day was a nightmare that you would never escape? He couldn't sleep, didn't care about eating and staying healthy.

He never noticed how her mother would not eat for a whole day. How she didn't do anything at all. She would stay at her bed for the whole day without even saying hello to him. How much did she change? How much did his family change?

What caused her to be like this? What made his father leave? He always relied on his dad and his mom. Not anymore. He realized that he was alone in this world.

A year passed and he could tell his mother couldn't take it anymore. He thought that her mother didn't care about him and forgotten him. Did she ever think of his only son? What were her final words before she decided to kill herself?

He found her on the floor when he came back from school. Blood spill in the kitchen used to be white tiles with a bloody knife in her hand. She stabbed herself in her heart. Was she finally happy? He grab her cold hands and put in on his cheek. He couldn't stop looking at her body lying on the floor. He burst into tears as she saw her mother for once looking calm. Then he looked at her face and found how her cheeks were stain with dry tears. His mother cried at her last moment.

He let go of her cold hand and laid it down gently and the floor. He looked at the counter and saw a paper. He walked slowly at the thing like he was being controlled by someone. He found a letter written by his mother. He could recognize that writing no matter what.

"I'm sorry Sub. I guess I couldn't take it anymore. The pain in my heart wouldn't go away no matter how much I want it to get rid of it. It hurt more when I looked at your eyes. I don't care about myself but instead, I care about you. You used to be so bright that it was the only things that could make me ignore my problems.

You are important to me ever since you were born. It even made me smile a real smile for a long time. I knew something happens to you when I saw you change. I wish I did more to prevent you from changing. Yet that was the time I found out your father was cheating on me with another woman.

That made my pain grow that I forgot about my angel. I tried to get rid of this pain, I really did. But it wasn't enough. I gave up. You deserve someone better than me. Live your life Sub. I know you will be able to. Do it without me. I don't deserve you, my little angel. I may not be with you when you find friends that really mean a lot to you when you grow older. When you can finally master a real smile, not the fake ones. I made you suffer so I deserve my punishment. But always remember that I would always be watching you.

I will miss you, my little angel. But I couldn't make it this time."

It took me a long time to finally let go of my dead mother. Whenever I closed my eyes, I would always find myself thinking of her. Is she really happy with the decision she made? I continue with my life as my mom told me. I tried to look for someone, anyone, to help me. But they didn't appear anywhere. I wanted someone who understands my pain.

Will I ever meet the people my mother mention? I went and live with my aunt that kindly let me inside her family. But I didn't deserve to live there. In school, no one would get near me. I didn't care. They would never understand what I was feeling. They will never be my friends.

I soon found myself in high school. It was miserable. The bullying stop but I heard people talking bad at me. They always wore faces with disgust when I walk in the hallway. I didn't care but I need deep in my heart that I did. No one. No one talked to me. That is until it happened.

"Um...Sorry if I'm disturbing you but I'm new here and wanted someone to show me the whole school. Also, I couldn't take it how many people hate you just because you were always alone. I hate those people. And since I don't know anyone, I want you to become my first friend."

I looked up and saw someone actually talking to me. I look at their eyes and could tell that he was sincere. Become friends? I would never admit how much that made me want to smile. Instead I answer with no emotion.

"I guess I could show you around."

He grin so big that I was afraid he would injure himself. How did that made someone be able to grin so big.

"THANK YOU SO MUCH! HEY CAN I CALL YOU MY FRIEND!"

How can someone be so happy to be around me. I didn't deserve anyone friendship. I'll just make them leave me. But he reminded me of past me. His eyes remind me of how I used to be. His happiness is contagious, spreading towards me. People were looking at us because of how loud he is.

"Sure."

I smile. A real smile. How was he able to make me smile just because he wanted to call me a friend.

"YAY! Can you tell me a your name?"

"Sub and you?"

"My name is Elijah and it a pleasure to meet you Sub but you can call me Sketch 'cause it sounds so cool!"

I laughed, a laugh that finally hold an emotion in it. I finally meet him mom.

———————————————————-

Did you like this chapter? It really took me awhile to write it. I really took me a while to decided if I should write this or not. I'm sorry if I wrote it wrong.

This is all Sub's backstory. I don't think the letter his mom wrote is good enough. I might change that in the future. Oh and also Sketch was Sub's first friend. Ouch.

I think that all. If any errors are found, please tell me.

I'm sorry for writing something sensitive. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I promise. If you know someone who may feel the same way, please help them. You may not know but they are suffering inside no matter how much they say they're fine. If you are feeling like this, please get some help. I know it difficult but it important. I don't want anyone to feel like this. If you need help, I can try to help you if you want. I don't know if I will be useful but I will try my best.

💕 I love you guys 💕
