The next morning, Rotta, in her bedrobe, came downstairs when she heard some weird noises in the living room.

Peter was out of his crib, kneeling by the couch and doing a floor puzzle!

Over the next two days, Peter pondered over finding a way to speak.

And then he found a way.

As his parents were having a conversation, Peter took out a magnifying glass and studied their lips. He tried to follow: "Bah...bah...g...guh...go...go...yeah! Yeah!"

When he was 6 days old, Peter woke up and decided to try something new. He put one knee to his chest, rose on his arms and legs...and stood up! "Yeah! I did it!" he cheered.

Greg fainted. "Eh?" wondered Peter. Why did he just pass out like that?

Eventually, Peter was put on TV. The news reporter even said he was the latest news flash.

Word soon spread about the amazing Peter Hecks. Everyone wanted to meet him.

One fateful day, Rotta got a call. "Hello?...Oh, yes he is. Hang on." She turned to Peter, who was standing nearby. "It's for you."

Peter took the phone and held it against his side. "Hello?"

"This is NASA. Are you Peter Hecks?"

"Absolutely," said Peter.

"Can you help with our next space mission?"

"Sounds thrilling!" Peter turned to Rotta. "Can I go, Mom?"

"Sure," said Rotta with a smirk. She had a completely unforgivable plan in mind.

"Good bye!" said Peter.

"Bye."

After training hard over the weekend, Peter donned an astronaut suit and blasted off with the astronauts into outer space.

Rotta and Greg were down below.

"He's a freak!" said Greg. "I don't know what to do with him! I can tell you have a plan, but what is it?"

"Don't sweat it, Greg," Rotta said slyly. "It's all planned out."
