Chapter 7: Silly Girl

“Follow me,” I say, leading Dakota and Emma away. I had a feeling Ron, Harry and Hermione would want to sit alone like they always did. We find an empty compartment and take a seat.

“Where did Gemini go?” Emma asks curiously.

“Fred and George kidnapped her,” I say.

The trains starts moving. I open the window and wave out to mother, Loser-iss and Aunty. Two of the three wave back of course.

“So, Tasha,” Dakota begins. Her accent makes my name sound like ‘Tasher’. “What elective courses are you doing?”

“Care For Magical Creatures and Muggle Studies. How about you?”

“Divination, Muggle Studies and Ghoul Studies,” she tells me. I blink in surprise. She must love creepy stuff.

“Emma?” I ask.

“Care For Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, Arithmancy, Ancient Ruins and the Orchestra,” she listed.

“Seriously?” Dakota laughed. “How are you going to get to-“

“You applied for a time turner, didn’t you?” I interrupt. Emmaline nods proudly.

“Sure did,” she says. “But, Tasha? Why do you only do two electives?”

“Well, you only have to do two.”

“Sure but-“

“I take lessons from Dumbledore on how to control my power,” I say simply. They nod silently.

Emmaline pulls out a game of Twisted Necromancer. I watch her and Dakota play quietly, my mind wondering to where Gemini and Jordan may have been.

“Hey!”

My head snaps up to the door. A shy grin finds its way onto my face. “Hi Seamus,” I greet, smiling up at him as he leans through the door.

His bright blue eyes gleam in the sunlight.

“How are you?”

“I’m good. I uh- I saw you at the cup.”

“You should’ve come over to say hello!”

“Well, I was with Malfoy,” I laugh.

His gaze drifts over to the others. “Oh; this is Dakota and Emma. They’re in our year, starting soon.”

“Awesome,” he grins. “Well, I’m Seamus. Good luck this year."

"Thanks," the girls grin together.

"Well, just wanted to pop in and uh, say hello," he told me.

"Yeah, hi Tasha," a voice calls from behind Seamus, who suddenly blinks in realization and moves to allow Dean to look in.

"Hey Dean!"

"Sorry, someone was a little too excited to see you," he replies.

Seamus jabs him sharply and I laugh.

When they leave, Emma and Dakota converge on me with a number of questions. "He made you nervous! You could see it!" Dakota laughed loudly.

"N-No," I said, looking out the window.

"Are you blushing?"

I glare at her. "Shut up."

When we arrive at school we are already dressed in our uniforms. "We should be at the school within a few minutes, but I have to go."

"What? Why?"

"I always lead the way for the first years in their boats."

"We're knew, don't we get to take boats?"

"No, just look for a familiar face and stick with them okay? You take the carriages."

"If you say so."

With that, I slide the compartment window open, turn into my phoenix form and leap out into the air on fire. It's a stormy night and I sure hope it doesn't rain.

I arrive first and stay air born as the students walk off the train like a flood. I spot Emma and Dakota with Harry and the others, which makes me happy.

"First years, follow me!" Hagrid yells.

That's when I sense the rain. I drop onto the platform and change when the downpour hits. Looks like I can't lead the way- water hurts me in my other form.

"Sorry Hagrid!" I yell, before I turn around to run away.

Instead I am faced with Katie Bell.

"What do you want?" I snap, moving around her.

She follows me. Not a smart move.

"What's with you and Seamus?" She asks.

"Nothing."

"Really? Why was he so anxious to see you today."

"Don't know."

I push through the crowd holding my robe over my head. Bell it pushing people out of the way from behind me, until I find Dean and Seamus talking to Emma.

We were on the waters edge. Down below laid the lake of Hogsmead. Seamus waves me over. I smile at him, put up my hand as a motion to wait and face Katie.

"Look Bell. I have nothing against you. It's just that-"

"Oh don't worry, Saphire. I know you're nothing against me."

I stop. "That not what I-"

"Katie, why would you say that?"

I look to my left to see Seamus standing beside me, staring at his girlfriend with a frown. He repeats his question, but she just stands there staring at him.

When she tries to step forward for a hug, he pulls back. He bumps some second year close by, who bumps another second year who stumbles backwards and into Katie.

Before I can react on my own, Seamus grabs my cloak and tugs me out of the way as Katie goes crashing over the side of the platform and into the water.

"S-Sorry!" The second year yells from the ground.

"Don't sweat it," I say, holding my hand out.

He takes it and I pull him up before he runs off.

Meanwhile, everyone seems to be either laughing or panicking at Katie's new state. Hagrid pushes through the crowd and levitates her out of the water.

Before I can see the outcome, someone is pulling my backwards into the crowd. I grin up at Dean who smirks back down. "Safer away from the edge, don't you think?"

"Sure is."

Dean and I end up sitting next to each other in the Great Hall. There's empty space on either side of us, the twins and Lee sit facing us.

People were still piling in when Seamus sat on the other side of me. I grin at him, only to see he had a red mark across his face. I cover up my anger.

"See I stun people, but she hits which is just plain mean!" I laugh.

"Yes because stunning is so much nicer," he jokes.

"When I do it is."

"Have you ever been hit my Katie? It hurts!"

"Well, I have hit Katie, but no never the other way around."

"I would never hit a girl," he suddenly admits, smiling down at me.

Of course I grin back, before noticing those around us staring, intrigued. George and Fred begin talking in-between themselves when Katie walks in.

People laugh as she walks between the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables; I sort of feel bad for her. Her hair is tattered and she musn't have had time to shower.

With a swift glare aimed at me, she sits with Leanne a long way away. Before the speech starts, I ask Seamus what made her slap him.

"She wanted to snog before we came into the Great Hall. When we were about to... I got a whiff of her didn't I? She smelled bloody awful! Probably shouldn't have told her that though."

I laugh, before realizing that he is so close to my face. It looks strange because he's right next to my ear. I snatch a glance at Katie; she didn't seem to impress.

Plus, others were giving us strange, disapproving looks. I force fight to flare in my iris' which scares them off.
