01 SEPT 17

//this entire page was written in a mix of Chavacano, English, and Tagalog, but for the non-filipino readers' convenience, Admin will just translate the whole thing into English as best as she could.

Mani and I were decorating our small Christmas tree in the living room when an unexpected visitor burst through our front door.

"Yo, what's up, dudes? Whatcha' guys-"

It was kuya D.C.

He looked at our small Christmas tree, then back to us us in a weird way.

"H-Hey now, what's with the Christmas tree? Isn't it only like, September here?"

I spoke up. "Well, our next holiday to look forward to from now is Christmas, so..."

"You're kidding." Kuya D.C said in shock. "What about Thanksgiving?"

"But we have nothing to do with such a hol-"

"Isn't that a white person's holiday?" Manila asked.

I smacked him while Kuya D.C just glared daggers at him, and rightfully so, if you ask me.

"ARAY!-"

Kuya D.C sighed. "What about Halloween?"

"It's not a popular holiday amongst the people here, so..." I answered as Manila snickered at my struggles to put the gODDAMN STAR ON THE CHRISTMAS TREE-"

"Uh, Cavite, do you need any help there?"

"Ano sa tingin mo?"*

"Haha ok ok no need to get all defensive." Kuya D.C chuckled lightly and put his hands up. He walked over to my direction and made himself more useful than the obnoxious Filipino capital opposite of me and helped me set the star on top of the Christmas tree.

As soon as we were done with that, Kuya D.C headed out the door, much to my and Manila's surprise.

My Filipino instincts kicked in.

"Hoy!** Leaving so soon? W-Why not eat something before you go? At least a drink?"

Kuya D.C chuckled. "As tempting as your food smells, I gotta head back to the hotel." He opened the door, but turned back to us one last time, and genuinely smiled.

"Merry Christmas, weirdos."

-Cavite, the only sane one, apparently
