Frequently asked questions

Hello all participants. Here I've compiled a list of questions that I have been asked about these awards, along with other popular questions that people have. Please check here often for updates and feel free to ask questions of your own.

1. Has my book been judged yet?
Rather than answering this question from fifty different participants, I have devised a simple way to determine. Books that have been judged will have a star next to them on the accepted participants chapter of this book. The book that is currently being judged will be in parenthesis. The genre currently being judged will be in brackets, and if the genre has been completely judged it will have bullets next to it. If your book is not currently being judged or has not been judged yet there will be no marks or symbols on your story.

2. When will judging begin?
Judging does not have a set time to begin. I will be judging books as they are accepted to prevent a month long waiting period between accepting entries and final scores being released.

3. How do I know what my book is being judged on?
You can find the judging rubric for poetry along with the judging rubric for all other genres in the chapter titled Judging rubrics.

4. How many winners will there be?
Since this is a small awards, only five books per genre, there will only be one first place winner per category and an honorable mention.

5. It's great that I won, but what did I win?
You can find the prizes listed in the next chapter. Prizes include shout-outs, covers, reviews and more depending on wether you get first place or honorable mention.

6. Who will be judging my story?
To prevent lengthy waiting delays and unresponsive judges, I will be the only judge.

7. Why do the rules say that I have to follow you?
I have this rule in place so I can find your profile and book easily when judging, in case something happens to the accepted entries reading list. This way here you can also receive message board updates about the awards. You are more than welcome to unfollow me at the conclusion of the awards if you feel the need to do so.

8. Are anime books able to participate?
Yes, an anime book is definitely able to participate. You ca enter anime books under fanfiction, or the genre that it is most closely related to.

9. Why isn't there a special genre for anime?
There is no special genre for anime because it typically doesn't do well in awards. If a lot of anime books enter this year, there might be an anime category next time around.

10. What do I do if my genre is full?
Now that many genres are starting to fill, I've gotten this from multiple users. If your genre is full you can either enter the book into the category of its sub-genre or you can enter it in random. Your call on that one.

That's all for now folks. If you have any other questions that are not on this list, please ask them and I will be sure to add them. Thank you. ^_^
