PHASTOS PREPARED his theory while everyone stood around doing nothing. Kingo explained to Makkari what was happening and all she replied with was finally my boredom is ending.

Makkari walked over after and they looked at the artefacts they had stolen over the years.

"So, how did you end up scoring this Emerald Tablet," Druig started pulling it from behind him. Sol tried to reach for it, "My beautiful, beautiful Sol?"

Makkari came behind him and snatched it from his hands. "Did you miss me," he asked her causing the speedster to roll her eyes.

"A distraction," Sol smirked.

"A distraction?"

"I created the illusion of the sun exploding and Makkari sped in and stole it."

"That's very devious of you two," Druig said causing her to smile. He glanced down at her lips.

"I'm sorry what are we watching? Because this..."

"Is this gonna be a thing again?" Kingo joined.

"Are you two..."

"No, we're... friends," Solarya replied.

"Sure," Makkari signed.

"Phastos. I need to control the mind of a Celestial," Druig interrupted.

"Okay, get ready for it," he did a motion with his hands and bangles appeared on the hologram.

"Bracelets?" Kingo questioned, "You made us bracelets."

"So here's a little Celestial 101," Phastos started. Druig nudged Solarya playfully and she nudged him back, "Celestials are the most powerful energy generators in the universe. When Arishem made us, he imbued us with infinite cosmic energy to keep our bodies regenerating. The bracelets, in theory, shut down our regeneration process. And once that happens our bodies accumulate extra cosmic energy."

"What for?" Sersi asked.

"Well, if the Deviants can absorb our energy, what if we can absorb each other's energy as well. If I can find a way to connect us all, one of us could become immensely powerful, pulling the accumulated energy from the rest, forming..." it appeared on the hologram, "A Uni-Mind."

Everyone was silent.

"That is a terrible name," Solarya said.

"Uni, meaning one, mind meaning mind," Phastos explained.

"Oh, no we heard you the first time," Kingo said.

"Terrible name," Sprite agreed.

"We'll brainstorm... Brainstorm! That's a way better name," said Kingo.

"No, I invented it, so I'm calling it whatever I want," Phastos denied.

Makkari got their attention, "So suppose Druig can say... put Tiamut to sleep. Then what?"

"We find humans a new home on another planet," Sersi responded.

"Are we building a big ship too? Take a pair of each animal?" Sprite asked sarcastically causing Solarya to chuckle.

"Well, you know what's never saved the planet? Your sarcasm," Phastos stated.

"Space colonization could take decades," Sprite replied.

"It can happen quickly with our help," Sersi spoke.

Kingo voiced his opinions, "What if we accidentally end up killing Tiamut? We could be responsible for billions of lives not being created across the universe. Boss am I right?"

"Say something Ikaris," Sprite pleaded, "You don't think we should be doing this." They looked at him as he looked down at Sprite.

"Ajak choose Sersi to lead us," he said, "Sersi should decide." They turned to look at Sersi.

"Forget who Ajak choose. You're the strongest. You should be making this decision," Sprite said, "Fine. Just keep lying to yourself," Sprite walked off.

"Sprite..." Ikaris trailed. He glanced at Sersi before going after her.

"Okay, this is not..." Phastos started.

"Ikaris," Kingo walked after him.

"Don't run after him," Phastos exclaimed, "Kingo, I... You guys."

"Well this is an interesting turn of events," Solarya said. She walked to one of the chairs and sat resting her feet on the desk. Druig looked at her, "What?"

"Nothing."

From across the room, Makkari watched them and looked at Phastos, "They're so ending up together by the end of this."

An alarm went off and Phastos panicked, "Oh, no. My God."

"What about the Uni-Mind?" Sersi asked.

Phastos shoook his head, "I haven't figured out a way to connect us, but I'm close. I'm close, very, very close."

"How much longer?"

"I don't know Sersi!" Phastos yelled. He took something from the hologram and gave it to Makkari, "Find the point of emergence."

Makkari sped off leaving papers flying everywhere in her path. Solarya sighed and sat.

Ikaris stormed into the lab dressed in his suit.

"I'm close to figuring it out," Phastos said to him. Ikaris' eyes shone as he blasted the hologram that was slowly forming into something real.

It shattered to pieces and Solarya stood alarmed. "What the hell?"

"Boss, what are you doing?" Kingo asked.

"I've let this go on long enough."

"Don't hurt him!" Sersi yelled running to help Phastos stand, "He lied to us. he already knew about the emergence."

"No he didn't," Kingo denied.

"Ajak told me everything when we left Babylon," Ikaris admitted.

"What?"

"You were never gonna let us stop the emergence," Phastos stated.

"No. I only want to protect you from the Deviants."

"If Ajak wanted you to take her place, why did she choose me?" Sersi questioned. Ikaris glanced to the ground and it was silent, "What have you done?"

"He killed her," Druig spoke.

Tears gathered in his eyes, "I had to."

Sersi shuddered, "She loved you."

"Did she?"

"She loved you," Sersi repeated.

"Do you think it was easy to live with the truth?" questioned Ikaris, "To know that one day all this would end? To keep on lying to you?"

"It seemed pretty easy enough if you did it for so long," Solarya said.

"If we gave humanity the choice, how many of them would be willing to die so that billions more could be born?" Ikaris asked.

Phastos spoke, "We're not giving them a choice. Is this why you're willing to kill? You are so pathetic!"

I'm an Eternal Phastos," Ikaris spoke calmly, "I exist for Arishem. As do you. It's who you are."

Phastos shook his head, "I wouldn't change a single thing about who I am. Born or made. But I do not exist for Arishem, I exist for my family!"

"Then you are making the same mistake Ajak did."

Just then Makkari sped in with a smile, "I found Tiamut." Ikaris fired.

"No!"

"Makkari!" Kingo jumped in front of her and the beam hit him. Solarya kneeled next to him as Makkari came forward.

"Get out of here," Kingo commanded.

"Kingo..."

A light appeared at Kingo's hands, he raised it towards him, "You do not turn against your family. Gilgamesh died because of you."

"You won't succeed against me. I will kill every one of you if I have to." He glanced at them and then at Sersi who was crying before heading towards the door.

"Wait," Sprite said, "I'm going with you."

"Sprite..." Sersi trailed.

Thena walked into the room and saw Kingo's outstrecthed hand and Ikaris' attire, "What is this?" Sprite caused the illusion of moths and they disappeared.
