Chapter 35

"did you notice his footprints?" Ling asked "back when we were all fighting in the forest?"

"No, your point?" Ed questioned still focused on envy.

"Its just that he's freakishly heavy for the size of his body, he might be a bit bigger than he looks.

His form continued to grow before stopping once he reached at least 40 feet tall, screams from deformed faces surrounding the air around him. I took a step back as he made eye contact grinning widely and stomping on the ground sending us flying.

"How can that be a homunculus? They're supposed to be artificial humans right?"

The faces continued screaming in agony, potentially talking but nothing comprehensive, the lifeless faces that were once a human life. Envy continued to attack, flinging his tail towards Ling, throwing him away. "LING!" Ed shouts as Ling lands with a thud, myself just frozen. Suddenly I feel a pressure in my back as I'm pushed into Ed and were both thrown back into a deep puddle of blood.

"Where's your bravery now? You were ready to go just a few seconds ago! Ha!"

I freeze the world around me getting hazy, the artificial world within my mind growing in and out of focus, a voice echoing in my head that wasn't quite comprehensible. "ty" was that a voice? "isty" hmm it sounds like it " KRISTY" wait that's me "KRISTY MOVE!" I duck feeling a breeze go over my back a slight scrape of something brushing against it, that was close. The world around me takes focus again, I take a few deep breaths.

"We need weapons. We need to win." I clapped my hands and it seems Ed picked up.

"With this ocean of blood," Ed clapped his hand and lent down beside me. "There's plenty of iron to work with!" a sword rose from Eds light a scythe from my own.

"You have a tackiest taste." Ling grumbles as Ed hands the sword to him before transmuting his automail into a blade.

"Hey come on", Ed sighed "I think it looks pretty cool myself." Eds face suddenly turned serious "can we take him."

"Probably not," I mutter swinging the weapon in my hands.

"Hes a giant monster, then on top of that im pretty sure he broke two of my ribs." Ling patted his chest gently.

"I think were all pretty beat up, but that's besides the point. We have no choice, all that matters now is giving him a taste of his own medicine." I growl stepping closer towards envy getting ready.
