Chapter 13, Shopping?!
~Kristina's POV~

I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on my door, I sighed and pulled the covers off before finding my way to the door. "Yes? Who is it?" I asked as I opened the door, the person didn't reply so I studied the posture for a second I figured out from the height, stance, and shape. That it was a girl around the age of 15 and the only one to suite that description, "hey Winry." I smiled and held the door open for her.
"I have been meaning to ask this for a while, how can you tell who it is when you can't see them?" I could feel her confused stare baring into the back of my head.
"Well, I listen to the vibrations and your breathing, from them I can tell the way you stand and the height, I can also tell your shape therefor if you are male or female and from all that I could figure out you were a 15 year old female and the only one to fit that description was you." I said as I shrugged my shoulders and sat back down on the bed.
"How long did it take you to figure all that out?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well how old were you when you figured out how to listen to the vibrations?"
"Well I was 11, and I figured it out almost straight away." I said, then realised that she didn't know how I lost my sight, I was hoping she didn't pick up on any if that.
"Oh okay." She replied, I could hear the smile in voice. I sighed in relief that she didn't comprehend what I said clearly. "Wait a minute, so you weren't born blind, so how did you become blind?" Damn, I spoke to soon.
"Well you see . . ." I trailed off wondering how I was going to explain this. I sighed and decided to tell her the truth, well a shortened version. "When I was young, my parents were killed in an accident. I then only had my older brother and twin sister left, but one night our house was broken into and both of them killed, I then went to my aunties house to learn alchemy. Then when I was 10 I went back to my house to bring my siblings back." I heard her gasp as I said that, and could just guess that she now knew why I had automail as well. "Well my price was my sight and my arms." And I again didn't tell the whole story, when will I trust people again? I blame you uncle, you were supposed to be my family, but you betrayed me how can I trust people who aren't my family if I can't even trust you?
"S-so, you have n-no family left?"
"Do you mean that care or are alive, because only one of my aunties and uncles were willing to help, hell the one that was supposed to be taking care of my siblings and me rapped my sister and me! They don't give a damn." I said, and I felt some arms around me, I gasped and went to pull away at first, but she just pulled me closer.
"I am so sorry, I can't even imagine going through that kind of pain. I am so sorry."
"I-it's not your fault, you didn't do any of that did you? A-and it's not like you can help what has already happened." I said still shocked at the affection that I was getting, I decided to change the subject. "So um, what did you come in here for in the first place?"
"Oh right, well I was coming to get you and take you to Ed and Al, I need to talk to you all about how the automail is going, and you need some cheering up by the sounds of it." I could hear her smile in her voice.
"Okay?" I replied slightly concerned as to what she had in mind.
"Well let's go get the boys!" She went to the door and opened it.
"What time is it?"
"About 7, why?"
"Well the boys will still be in bed if that's the time, so let's go wake Ed up." I smiled at her.
"Sure."
We walked into the room beside mine and when we walked in I heard Winry chuckle slightly. Not being able to see what was funny I decided to ask. "What's so funny Winry?"
"Ed." Was all she said, and I could swear I could hear both a blush and giant smile in her voice.
"You like him don't you?"
"W-what, n-no I-i mean he's just a childhood friend, I-it would be so weird liking him." Her stuttering made it obvious that she actually did, but what was that emotion I was feeling, almost . . . Envy? But why would I feel like that, I mean is it the fact I have a small crush on Ed? Did I actually think I stood a chance with him? I mean who would like a sorry excuse for a human like me? No one, that's who.
"Kristy, are you okay?" Winry asked me snapping me out of my trance.
"Huh, yeah I'm fine, just thinking a bit. So did you wake Ed up?"
"Yeah, I'm right here." He replied. And I could feel a slight tension in the air, before Winry shuffled around a bit, almost as if facing away from Ed.
"Winry, you okay?" I asked, her reply was mumbling that I couldn't understand, as if she was embarrassed to say it. "I'm sorry, what was that?" I asked, and I could hear in the background ed shuffling around quickly. What was going on?
"I said, Ed's getting dressed." She said, the blush clear in her voice, but not visible. No all that was visible was a black void.
I couldn't help but laugh slightly at her reaction. "Oh come on Winry, you've seen him without a shirt on multiple times when you've done his automail."
"Oh thankyou for reminding me, Ed I need to go to the shops to get some materials for automail, and I was hoping you guys could come with me." I could feel the happiness in her voice. I was almost praying that Ed said no and she could go by herself.
"Sure." He said damn him.
"Well I'll just stay here." I said my nerves clear in my voice.
"Kristy, are you okay?" Ed asked I could just picture his confused face . . . If I knew what his face looked like, all I know is that he has golden hair and golden eyes, much like the people from that place destroyed centuries ago, Xerxes or something it was called.
"Peachy." I said with sarcasm clear in my voice. "But if you guys don't mind, I'll stay here and not go shopping."
"Oh come on Kristy, we can go into a heap of shops and get clothes and stuff, it will be so much fun." She squealed, at that moment I let my emotional barrier down and showed my horrified expression.
"Kristy, you don't like shopping much, do you?" Ed asked, all I could do was shake my head.
"Your a girl, you HAVE to like shopping, I means trying on all the clothes, and getting jewellery, getting the very last item on the shelf." Okay she was waaaayyy too girly for me, I am NEVER going shopping with her.
"Sorry but I am really not the shopping type, never have been, and never will."
"But why?" Winry asked, her voice clearly showing her confused expression.
"I hate people." I realised after what I had said. "Okay, I don't hate people I hate crowds, and the longest I have spent shopping before wanting to run out is about half-an-hour. Other than that, I'll avoided shops as well as I can.
"Come on, your a girl, your supposed to like this stuff."
"Well incase you haven't realised she's/I'm not an average girl." Both me and Ed said together. We then looked at each other, well I looked in his general direction, and I could feel his stare on me.
For the next 10 minutes Winry was begging me to come and I reluctantly agreed. Now we
have been at the shops for who knows how long, but I was starting to get fidgety, but was trying desperately not to run straight back to Central command and locking my door shut. I have no idea how many clothes Winry has tried to get me into, to only fail. I hate trying on clothes, I mean has she not noticed I stay with one type of clothes, she even tried to get me into a sleeveless short summer dress . . . Multiple times.
"Oooo, you HAVE to try this one on!" Winry practically screamed.
"No!" Was the only thing I said, and I could hear Edward chuckle behind me, but he was probably glad that I wasn't encouraging Winry to milk him dry.
"But, you don't even know what it looks like."
"It is another summer dress?" I asked. But there was no reply. "I'll take that as a yes. Weren't we supposed to come here to get you some automail parts." I said hoping that once we got them we could leave this crowded place, I was basically being shoved around all the time.
"Oh right." She replied sheepishly. "I forgot."
"Well come on, let's go get the stuff and get out of here." We were walking around for a while trying to find were we could get the stuff from.
"Okay, I need a cylinder for a left arm and right leg, and a few plates for all of them." She said looking at a piece of paper in her hand.
"Um Winry, don't you mean left leg, my automail leg is left." Ed said suspiciously, damn he's to perspective for his own good.
"Yes, that was what I meant, silly me, I just got them muddled up, I was ment to say right arm and left leg." Winry said, but I could tell from the tone in her voice she was lying, apparently neither Ed nor Al could pick it up though.
I swear we had spent another hour there, and I could tell I was not going to be able to hold
back much longer. "Guys, I think we've spent enough time here." I could feel a few beads of sweat fall down the side of my face.
"Kristy, are you okay?" I heard Ed ask. But I wasn't sure how to reply, I could hear all the noise around me, the feet hitting the ground, the children screaming, the store owners shouting for you to buy their products. I couldn't take it an longer, I wanted to run, yet I was frozen in place. "Winry, I think we have to leave now." I could hear Ed turn away from me.
"But, I still haven't looked at all the stuff I wanted to." She wined, obviously not turning around to see me.
"Winry, we need to leave, something's funny with Kristy." At that point I could hear her start to turn around, but before she could even meet me face to face, my legs made their decision of what they wanted to do. I could hear them all screaming my name as I ran, I had no idea where I was going, but I needed to get away from all the noise, I couldn't stand the noise.

"Kristina! KRISTINA!" I shouted as I saw the girl running through the crowds. I had no idea what to do. "Winry, what do we do?" I said and turned to face the blond girl, and expression of shock clear on her face.
"I-I don't know, I've never seen someone run away with so much fear before."
"What are you talking about?" Was all I could say, I mean I couldn't really tell that she was scared. But I didn't really look at her to see if she was.
"Her eyes, she looked . . . Petrified." Al said for Winry.
"We have to go get her, who knows what could happen." Winry said, and started running in the direction Kristy went, with us following her, Al trying to keep up with all the bags in his arms.
'Why did she run off like that? Why is she so scared of crowds? Why is she so. . .Different?'
Okay so I am gonna end it here and I am sooooooo, sorry that it took a while to update, and them I am leaving it at a cliffhanger like this I'm sorry please don't kill me.
Kristy: you don't know how much I want to.
Me:no I don't, by the way yes I react like that in the shops, and I have lasted about half-an-hour before wanting to run out. But thankfully I have never actually run out before, my parents are nice enough to A: not force me to stay long or B: let me stay home, anyway. By people and till next time. Yeah sorry but no interesting authors note, the sugar is all out of my system. Although I was slightly crazy today. I can briefly remember saying and I quote. "I wanna die, I'm gonna kill myself . . . Wait what. *Slapping forhead* what am I saying? oooo I'll play music and sing." Yeah, me was little crazy today's oh and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! But I wrote this on both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, yes I stayed up till like 1:30 writing this for y'all, and I am sorry if I don't have it posted on New Years, but out internet is playing up, so this might be posted late, again sorry peeps!
