Chapter 2: Black Panther
(Also I'm using google translate for the Wakandan language.)
There have been stories of land in Sub-Saharan Africa known as Wakanda, the people of Wakanda have advanced technology that many would want to get their hands on but they keep it out of outsiders' hands. They have a leader known as the Black Panther who protects and leads Wakanda in many ways that they see fit, the last person who held the mantle was T'Challa Udaku but he sadly passed from cancer. Now his son must fill in his father's footsteps but he doesn't know how to.
(Wakanda 2031)
People were walking down the streets of Wakanda laughing and celebrating with each other as they had heard rumors of a new Black Panther coming but weren't aware of the stress that it would bring upon him.
A woman was walking down the road looking around as she was calling out a name "T'nalla nibo ni o wa? (T'Nalla where are you?)" She called out as she then saw a boy walk down an alley she ran and grabbed his arm making him turn around, "Anti Shuri" He said as the woman now named Shuri sighed "T'Nalla why did you run away?" She asked as T'Nalla looked down. "I don't know if I'm ready,"
Shuri tilted his head up and smiled at him, "T'Nalla when my brother passed It hurt but I know that when he died I had to help his son become ready which is why he left the mantle to you because he wanted you to follow his footsteps and make him proud of you." She said as T'Nalla took a deep breath before nodding his head. "I'll make him proud." He said as Shuri rubbed his head. "Come, we must prepare for the ceremony." She said as T'Nalla followed her.
(Wakanda Waterfall)
Many Wakandan tribes were dressed and prepared for the ceremony as T'Nalla came out in his boxers with Panther markings on his shoulders and back as he looked up and saw the tribes singing the ceremonial music as he held an Iklwa sword with a Nguni shield. He looked and saw Shuri walking towards him as he kneeled.
"Today we shall have the ceremonial challenge of being king of Wakanda, We shall now strip Prince T'Nalla of the powers of the Black Panther," She announced as T'Nalla took a sip from the bowl she had in her hands as he clenched his fists feeling his body in pain before taking a deep breath as it went away.
"Victory by ritual combat shall be from yielding or death. If any tribed wishes to put forth a warrior, I now offer a chance to the throne." She said as many tribes began to speak saying that many of them will not challenge T'Nalla. "Is there any member of a royal blood who wishes to challenge for the throne?" She called out they then heard the sounds of a chant coming from a cave as they turned and saw the Jabari walking through.
One of them walked in front of T'Nalla before taking off his ceremonial monkey mask showing a young man who looked around the age of 18. "M'Ballu, I'm surprised to see you here," Shuri said as M'Ballu chuckled. "I came to see if my friend T'Nalla was ready and worthy to be king yet," He said as T'Nalla shook his head and smiled, "Sounds like you to do that."
"It seems that T'Nalla has a challenger M'Ballu, son of M'Baku," Shuri said as M'Ballu put his mask back on T'Nalla put on a ceremonial panther mask as he put the Nguni shield in front of him while putting the Ikwala sword behind him as M'Ballu held his knobkierie with both hands and smirked behind his mask, "Glory to Hanuman," He said as T'Nalla nodded.
"Let the challenge, begin!" Shuri said before backing up as the tribes began to play music as they circled each other twirling their weapons before M'Ballu charged at T'Nalla and swung his knobkierie hitting the shield as T'Nalla pushed him back before swinging his sword which M'Ballu blocked it.
"I must admit, fighting like this with you is fun." He said as T'Nalla was pushing against him and smiled. "Same, maybe we could do this again when I'm king." He said as he backed up before swinging his sword again M'Ballu dodged before hitting him in the side and kicking the shield out of his hand. "Prove that you can beat me and be king T'Nalla!"
T'Nalla rubbed his side before swinging his sword at M'Ballu's feet which made him jump a bit before T'Nalla swept his leg and then wrapped his legs around his neck and held his arm in a tight grip. "Yield!" He said as M'Ballu struggled a bit before punching T'Nalla in his injured side, weakening his hold as M'Ballu broke the hold before putting T'Nalla in a chokehold as he struggled.
"It seems that you won't be king, to be honest, King M'Ballu has a nice ring to it." He said as T'Nalla clenched his teeth and gripped M'Ballu's arms tightly before leaning forward as he flipped him over his shoulder before gripping M'Ballu's arms and held them tight as he wrapped his legs around his neck again and began to choke him again, "Yield!".
M'Ballu attempted to break free again before clenching his teeth and tapped T'Nalla's side as he let him go allowing him to breathe as he rolled off of him and coughed as he looked at him. "Not bad, King T'Nalla." He said as T'Nalla smiled before helping him off of the ground.
Shuri walked over and hugged T'Nalla he smiled and hugged her back before looking at the tribes who bowed their head and crossed their arms in the Wakandan salute. "Our new ruler, King T'Nalla!" Shuri said as everyone cheered.
T'Nalla looked at his aunt and smiled as she wiped a tear from her eye and hugged him again. "T'Challa would be very proud of you." She said as T'Nalla hugged her tightly as he looked at the Black panther statue and nodded.
"I'll try and be a good king for the people of Wakanda."
