Chapter I: Welcome to Hell
It was just an ordinary day. I got up, took a shower, and got dressed into a pair of light wash jeans, a black, sparkly Disney Parks t-shirt, and my maroon flannel. It was a Friday, thankfully.
I was really tired, but trudged through it. I went downstairs to put my contacts in. Today was a surprisingly slow day, but it was February, so it was okay, I suppose. I met with my brother, Ryan, who, as always, seriously got on my nerves. He always made comments and called me names. Today, my name was EMOtional. I was about to tell him to stop, when my dad came upstairs from the basement in a hurry.
"Why aren't your shoes on?", he yelled at me.
I couldn't answer; it was a rhetorical question, after all. I got myself ready while my dad brought my brother to school. Ryan and I were exactly twenty-three months apart, making us incredibly intolerable for each other, our parents, and, well, anyone who has ever seen us in a room together. I had only turned fourteen little over a month ago. I quickly finished my breakfast as my mom came downstairs.
"Why aren't you ready?' she shouted.
"I am, though!", I accidentally shouted back.
With that, my dad walked into the house.
"Are you ready?", he asked.
I took a deep breath before answering, "yes."
I grabbed my stuff and walked outside and into the car.
Welcome to Hell.
