We were on our way from our hometown, Harano, to the bustling city of Grimera. We saw a few knights along the way and hid from them. I did kill like a patrol before I left the village, so obviously I'm a wanted man.

We were only a quarter of the way there. This journey seems to be getting more and more difficult to walk but everyone else seems to not feel it. Oh well its time to hunt, so we had to decide who would hunt tonight.

I decided that Leah would hunt so she could get back in tune with her instincts and be able to kill things. Yknow, like a real Demonic black dragon. About 30-40 minutes later she came back covered in blood and bruises while dragging a giant boar.

As much as she was grumbling she looked satisfied with her prize. I skinned and smoked the meat so it would last us longer, and so we had our first meal on the way to Grimera.

It wasn't easy to eat or tasty, it was bland and tasteless like eating clay. I didn't like it but it was food and we needed it. I scanned the campsite after making sure the fire was properly put out. As I looked around I noticed a few odd things, the trees looked slightly dead and the shrubbery looked like it had been torn through like a grater going through cheese albeit slightly unnoticeable but not completely for someone like me.

Just as I was thinking about what to do with this new information my brother called for me.

"Dru! Come take a look at this!" He said excitedly. I went over to him and noticed that what he was staring at was a egg and as all common knowledge dictates.

"That's gonna be a problem ain't it?" I said with a sweat drop. We all laughed a little and I picked up the egg.

"What do you suppose is in it guys?" My nervousness rising thinking of if whatever is the mother of this egg is comes back.

"Well logic dictates due to me being a dragon I know this is some sort of dragon egg although even with my vast knowledge I cannot identify what dragon..." Leah sat there and pondered why it was that she couldn't remember what type of dragon it was.

"Well whatever it is it isn't safe for this little egg to be alone in the forest. We should take it with us!" Dren said excitedly. How in the hell did this dumb child end up my brother... I wouldve face palmed but I had an egg in my hands that was trembling, wait, HOLY SHIT ITS GONNA HATCH! I placed it on the ground and backed away slowly.

Leah and Dren doing the same just as we were about to bolt I hear crack. Ah shit, whelp this life was good while it lasted. And then out popped a mid sized snake-looking creature with a horn and a spiral type coloring on it. The coloring was purple swirling with blue all the way up to its head, which was pure black where the purple and blue faded out. It looked around then locked eyes with me and Leah and immediately said two words that made my blood run, "momma? Dadda?"

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Leah and I both exclaimed. Ok me calm down it could just be seeing things behind us and/or is confused. It ran-er-slithered to me and curled around my leg and looked up at me with puppy dog eyes.

"Dadda?" The little snake like animal said earnestly. It curled up my leg and around my torso and ended with wrapping around my neck lightly, it's big green eyes with diagonal slits in the middle brightly stared into mine.

The little snake creature was surprisingly not too slimy despite the gleam of slime on its scales. While I was busy staring at the little creature I heard a growl and whipped around just as a giant wolf leaped out of the bushes at me and the creature around my neck launched its body at the wolf and wrapped tightly around it the wolf started thrashing and scratching at its assailant but the creature responded with a bite on the wolf's head and the wolf started trembling then it convulsed violently then fell limp.

So that must mean the little snake has poison, even more of a danger. The snake turned around and looked at me expectantly as if asking for praise for one sidedly fighting that wolf, I mean who wouldn't want praised for beating a giant wolf when your the size of the palm of my hand?

I rolled my eyes, "Alright, you did good saving me back there." The snake jumped up and down happily and slithered over to Leah and curled around her. Dren has just been sitting there staring at all this. Leah pat the head of the snake and it, purred? Leah called Dren over and asked him if he wants to pet the little snake. Just as Dren went over to them the little snake hissed and lashed out at him, thankfully he's the fastest guy I know and he dodged it.

I sweat-dropped, "Well I guess the little one doesn't like other people." We shared a laugh and the snake curled up on Leah's chest and went to sleep. It must've been tired from hatching and running all around then fighting a wolf and more running. Well time to sleep, I went and laid in my tree hammock I created situated away from Leah and she (looking red for some odd reason?) went in her own. This was going to be a long night as I laid my head to rest.

In the morning we all packed up and hid the fire as we headed once again on the trail to Grimera. The journey may be longer than expected if we keep having to stop for things like forks in the road and the like. I just hope we don't have to deal with the repercussions of taking the little one with us.

We all trudged along the path Leah still had the little snake asleep on her chest, Dren was above in the trees, and I was walking slightly ahead of Leah for safety. We came to a fork in the road with a sign on it saying, "Left to Timur's Darek" and "Right to Taruk Village".
