Y/N POV 

I never enjoyed fighting in my life really

I was pretty good when it comes to fighting, able to win some fights by mostly dodging and countering

But when the doctor announced I had a high resistance to Honkai, everything went so fast for me

In less than a month, I was enrolled into Schicksal, trained to fight Honkai, and protect Mankind

Hell, I never carried a weapon in my life, yet, I was part of the strongest in the world!

That was awesome!

But reality quickly catched me up

I wasn't able to do anything in missions

I put everyone in danger, since I wasn't able to fight properly

I was shamed by everyone, as the dishonour of Schicksal

Everything they say, about me, and tell me that I should quit, for better people to come instead

Maybe their right, and I should stop all of this

But sadly for them, I never gave a shit about other opinions

Y/N: Alright.... Time for me to die, huh?

I walked toward the Arena, and see Durandal was already there, in a different Battlesuits than usual

Y/N: Heh, you really went all out here, Durandal

Durandal: Indeed, you asked me to not pull back my punched on you, and I respected your request

Y/N: And it seems like we have some watchers here

I looked around, and see a lot of Valkyries cheering for Durandal, and yet, none for me

Y/N: Welp, guess it's time to start, are you ready?

Durandal: I am, but are you?

Y/N: Never have been, but that's how we get better, huh?

She smiled, before assuming her battle stance, as I only assumed a boxing one, since it's the only one I know

Announcement: Begin!

Durandal instantly rushed at me, and send a punch at my face, that I managed to block, but was still pushed back a yard away

Y/N: Sheesh, talk about the strongest Valkyrie huh? But it's just starting!

I rushed at her, sending quick jab at her, that she dodged easily

She tried to counter one of my punch with her own, but I managed to move my head in time, but it still grazed by cheeks

Durandal: Not bad, I must say, but I think we should stop the warm up now

Y/N: Alright then, show me your best, Durandal!

She smiled, before two spears appeard at her side, in each hand, before she rushed at me

She send slashes at me, like the spears were swords, grazing me all over my body, before I jumped back, trying to gain some distance

When I landed, she was already behind me, and kick me in the back

I slided on the ground, but when I looked behind me, she was in the air, a giant spear in hand

My eyes widened, as I thought I will die this time

But suddendly, I heard a small voice in my head, whispering me something

???: Remember, every attack is like a music. The only thing you need to do, is learn the patern~

I took a deep breath, before closing my eyes, and then opening them with a smirk

Narrator POV

Durandal send her spear at Y/N, creating a tower of flame, as people cheered for her victory

Durandal: Did I over did it? I hope he is okay.....

Suddendly, they heard footsteps coming from the tower of flame, everyone being silent

Someone walked out of it, showing Y/N, his shirt torn, and some burn marks on his body, but he was still smirking

Y/N: Well, you almost got me there, I must say, but this isn't your best, isn't it?

She looked at him shocked, as he did a 'come on' sign

Y/N: Let's fight more seriously, Durandal!

She smirked back, before grabbing her two spears again, and rush at him

Y/N closed his eyes, and focused on his ears

Y/N: If I see the thing, fear will overcome my sense, and I will be hit...........

She was about to stab him in the gut, as he sighed

Y/N: Two steps back

He took two quick steps back, surprising Durandal, who got back on the attack

Y/N: Duck down

He ducked down, dodging a slash from Durandal, as someone watching from his office, smirked

Otto: Incredible....... Really incredible........

Durandal continue to attack, as Y/N keep whispering everything he had to do

Y/N: All this week of training really paid off, huh?

Durandal: It seems so

She jumped back, before transforming her spears into a bow, and aim at Y/N

Durandal: Let's finish it, Y/N!

Y/N: *Mind* This attack will be way stronger than the last ones, so I need to give everything I have to stop it

He opened his eyes, and smiled at his oppenent

Y/N: Yes!

He placed his right hand behind him, ready to stop the arrow, and nodded

Y/N: Whenever you want, Durandal!

Durandal: Alright then, here I go!

She shoot the arrow at him, as he send his hand forward, blocking the arrow before it hit him

His arm skin was slowly burning by the power of the arrow, and making him slide back slowly

 Valkyrie: He is going to lose! It's Durandal after all!

Valkyrie 2: What can someone without training can do after all?!

He stopped sliding back, as Y/N slowly pushed back the arrow

Y/N: I, too, trained hard to get this far!

He took step ahead, as the arrow started to slowly disappear

Y/N I will not lose like that! No! I will never lose again!

In his office, Otto was overjoyed by the performance of Y/N

Otto: Incredible! No! Magnificent! The honkai energy of the spear is slowly being nullified by him! I knew you had something up your sleeves, Y/N!

Y/N punched back the spear back to Durandal, barely missing her, as he pointed his fist at her, half of his arm burned

Y/N: Hah! Take this losers! Let's continue this fight, Durandal! So I can........ win........

He smirked, before closing his eyes, and fall back

But Durandal was faster, and carried him on her back, smiling gently

Durandal: You did your best here Y/N, I'm proud of you

She walked away, to take him to the medical bay, as an announcement was make

Announcement: Winner of the fight is Durandal!

Everyone was left in shock, as they all got back to their missions or chores

Timeskip

Y/N slowly opened his eyes, to see he was in the medical bay, his hand bandaged, as he sat up

???: Well, you really impressed everyone there, Y/N

He looked at his side, and see the Overseer, smiling at him

Y/N: What happened........

Otto: You pushed through your limit against Durandal, but passed out after you countered her attack

Y/N: So........ I lost?

Otto: In the end, you lost the fight, yes

Y/N looked down, clenching his fist, trembling

Y/N: So even at my best, it's still wasn't enough........ Even if it was by time, A victory would still be a victory for me.........

Small tears falled from his eyes, as he sobbed

Y/N: I really wanted to win..........!

Otto: But in a way, you did

He looked at the Overseer in shock, who smirked

Otto: You have gained the respect of everyone here, by pushing back Valkyrie Durandal, that was said without equal

Y/N: Everyone....... Respect me.........?

Otto: Indeed, you may be a rank below them, but now, they see you as a symbol to never give up, and always push back your limit. It may sounds cliché, but it is a good start

Y/N: Oh........ Is Durandal here?

Otto: She is in the arena, training, you can go out and see her

Y/N nodded, before get up from the bed, and head out to the Arena, leaving Y/N alone

Otto: The weakest fighter of Schicksal, huh? It seems like I will have to change the order now. You have a good rival to the title of the strongest now, Durandal

With Y/N, while he was walking to the Arena, everyone he meet greeted him with respect and even bow in front of him

For him, it sure was a weird feeling

Finally, he arrived to the arena, and saw Durandal finished with her training

Durandal: Training without Y/N sure is different.......

Y/N: Well, maybe I can stay with you?

She looked to him, and smile gently

Durandal: I would love that

She walked to his side, and was hesitant to grab his hand

He saw that, and decided to make the first move, grabbing her hand, leading her out of the arena

Y/N: Let's go to this date today, ok? We both need some rest before starting training again

She blushed at the touch, but still hugged his arm

Durandal: I believe you will make the right choices

They started to walk away, together, hand holding(lewd)
