Epilogue
Jennifer stood in front of the attic door, visibly shaking with excitement.
"Are you ready?" Howard asked before opening the door in question.
"It's okay if you need a few moments to prepare yourself," Catherine added as she stood behind the upset Thinblood.
"No, I will be okay," Jenny said. "Go ahead and open the door."
As Howard entered the room for the umpteenth time, the magic circle located in one corner of the room immediately drew his eyes. There, inside of his magic circle floated the specter of Nathan. Upon seeing who followed Howard into the room, his form suddenly became all but solid. "Jenny!" the ghost called out, and it rushed to the side of the circle closest to Jennifer.
"Nathan!" Jenny called out while rushing to the edge of the circle. "When they told me you were here, I almost couldn't believe them. But then I remembered that these are the two strongest mages in existence. That's when I began to hope that what they said was true."
"Who are the two strongest mages?" Nathan asked confused.
"Why the Necromancer and Lady Catherine," Jenny replied with equal confusion.
"Who is the Necromancer? And LADY Catherine as in the Elder who controls a third of Arkham?"
"Much has changed in the last thirty years, Nathan. Don't sweat the small stuff," Howard interjected. "The important thing is that the two of you are now back together."
"Yes, he is right," Jenny agreed. "Oh Nathan, how I have missed you."
"I have missed you as well, Jenny, and may I say that you look ravishing?" Nathan gushed.
Jenny was wearing a high-class gown, the type the middle class only wore for very special occasions. This dress was mostly cream-colored with floral accents that matched Jenny's now blue eyes. Since she was not channeling her vampiric strength at the moment, her eyes had reverted to their natural color.
Jenny was also wearing a hat whose style was currently all the rage, complete with artificial blue flowers. These flowers, of course, matched the shade of blue on her dress.
"Why thank you, Nathan," Jenny replied with a smile and a blush. "I have been saving it for over thirty years. I had hoped to wear it at our eventual wedding. Then, after you passed, it was one of the few things that I could not part with."
"Oh Jenny," Nahan said, tears streaming down his ghostly cheeks. "I did not know that you still felt that way after I spurned you as I did."
"Nathan, I never begrudged you that. After all, finding out a secret like your beloved is a vampire is not something most mortals can deal with. I was just glad that you began seeing me again," Jenny said, tears now streaming out of her own eyes.
"Thank you for that," Nathan replied. "I will never forget all the times we shared both before and after I learned the truth. Living or undead, you were the only woman for me."
"As much as I hate to break in on your conversation," Catherine said. "But we are limited on time since Jennifer took a while to prepare for the reunion. I am afraid that sunrise is only an hour away and we have to get her to safety before then."
"Don't worry, we can always meet again another time, assuming Howard can arrange it." Jenny said when she saw the look of distress on her lover's face.
"Of course. As long as you stay with our faction, you can visit one another as often as you like," Howard replied.
"You see, Nathan, we both have all the time in the world," Jenny reported with a smile.
Nathan returned her smile, apparently overjoyed to spend more time with his beloved.

After Jenny and Catherine left, Howard returned to the alchemical laboratory. He had a few last things to tell his ghostly friend.
"Ah Howard, I was wondering when you would return," Nathan began with a smile as soon as Howard entered the chamber.
"Nathan, I am afraid that I have to inform you of some very sad news," Howard began. "I didn't tell you before because I wasn't sure if it was actually you or a spirit pretending to be you."
"And now you know it is me?"
"Yes, I am sure of it."
"What made you sure?"
"Because of how you reacted when Jenny walked into the room. It did not take a second for you to realize who she was based on her descriptions from your journal," Howard noted. "Only the real Nathan would recognize her that quickly."
"Thank you for finally realizing that I am me," Nathan said with a chuckle. "Now some of your strange behavior makes sense,"
"So before I tell you this I need to make sure of something."
"And what is that?"
"Are you happy to stay imprisoned in the magic circle indefinitely?" Howard asked.
"Howard, you are my oldest friend. You should know the answer to that question."
"I need to hear it from you, though."
"I just found out the love of my life will be visiting here periodically. Of course, I am happy to stay here. Besides, I will also get to see my best friend regularly if I stay," Nathan stated with a grin.
"Good. If you tried to leave on your own, it would cause a magical cascade and explosion that would seriously damage Wiltshire Manor, and neither of us would like that."
"Of course not. This Manor is my home and will be my heritage one day..." Nathan replied.
"No Nathan, a ghost cannot inherit a house. They cannot inherit at all. Besides, I am afraid that they have already passed it on to me."
"Then it is as I feared then," Nathan said, tears forming in his ghostly eyes. "After not seeing him for so long I had a feeling that he was gravely ill. However, I didn't think that he too had passed on."
"Yes, old friend. I am afraid to inform you that your father, Mr. Harold Wiltshire, has passed on to the next life."
