The Cure

Okay, so after we FINALLY got back to Aaa, and gave the blood and stuff to Gumball, we were pushed roughly out of his lab and told to assess the damage. Let's see- the Candy Kingdom was half-disintegrated, even the people, from all the rain, and Gumball looked extremely tired. Half his lab was gone, so it's going to be even more time.

All the water was permanently red, and some people were losing their umbrellas on the way down. In the meantime, Finn had been taking on my work along with Cake, Marceline and Jake- and there was a lot of it. Fights were breaking out all over for the clean water that was left, people were trying to keep their loved ones with them with disastrous consequences, and there was a lot of distrust going around.

Maybe that was the real reason Olivia and Siofra were in Ooo. Simon and Betty were trying to help were they could, but to be fair, she was the Ice Queen, and everyone knows it. So they just stayed out of the way, and tryed to send snow down to melt when they're in range.

"It's like the freaking American Civil War." Marshall said darkly.

"Which one?" Simon asked, slurping his shake.

"The first one. Brother against brother, and all that." I said.

"Mm. Second one was less bloody." Betty said.

It had been a few days since Marshall and I had gotten back. I checked my watch. "It's 4:35. In five...four...three...two...one..." But unlike they usually did, Marshall and Simon didn't disappear. Instead, Siofra came strolling through the mouth of the cave. "Hello. I was just checking back with you guys to make sure the homicidal maniac didn't wait it out and come back."

Marshall and I looked at each other. "Were you the one who...?" We started to ask.

"Fixed the weather? No. The Christian God and I have a deal. I don't mess with her stuff, she doesn't mess with mine. Same with Buddha, the Hindu gods, the Greeks... everybody, actually."

"Her?" Betty asked.

"Yeah. Her. No one ever sees her behind-the-scenes representatives. Just Moses, Jesus, lots of yusses. Again, don't tell Disney. They have rabid lawyers." Siofra said.

"Um... none of us can-" I started.

"Olivia." Was all Siofra said.

"Olivia?" Simon and Betty said together.

"Yeah. Crazy lady I ran into on the way back. She was yelling at some guy about some game, and her hands were surrounded by green fire. Of course, she was also that chick who tried to install some weird thing in my cottage years ago. Then there was New York."

"Do I want to know when?" Betty sighed.

"Nope. Just know that it was New York, not New Amsterdam or what the natives called it. The method of time travel she uses is a lot more bumpy though. I think she lost someone on her last trip." Siofra sighed.

"So she just disappeared here last time...?" Simon said, perking up a bit.

"Nope. She was the Lich Queen." I said, sipping my shake.

"Really? Huh. Never would have guessed. Anyway, I'm moving the cottage to where England and Trannsylvania used to be, just to check." Siofra said, before leaving.

"So Gumwad finally fixed the weather?" Marshall asked, draining his shake.

"Probably." I agreed.

"You two don't give him enough credit." Betty scolded.

Marshall and I looked at each other. "We give him the credit." I said.

"We just don't like him. He tried to get me to commit suicide for his stupid list." Marshall finished.

"Trust me. Makes more sense if we just hate him. Like Lee. Lee is hated, Gumball is disliked." I added.

"To be fair, Lee tried to kill her, scared her, fell in love with her, tried to replace me and kill me, and was just so annoying." Marshall said.

"I still don't get how it works. It's complicated magic." Betty muttered.

"You just met Siofra." I said.

"And she's half-faerie." Marshall agreed. We don't question how Siofra works.

Gumball was our next visitor. "I did it! I finally fixed the weather!"

"That's great! Thanks Gumball!" I said, smiling at him. He really does try hard.

Marshall growled something I didn't hear, and Gumball shot him a look. "What do you mean?! And who was that blonde girl I saw going down the mountain?"

"That was Siofra. She's a half-faerie, time-traveling witch." I said.

"And?! She looked fairly human to me!" Gumball said, flapping his arms up and down.

Marshall regarded him with interest. "You look like Laurence McAllister. And Siofra's only half-human, and like Fi said, a time traveler. Side note- how did you know Olivia's real name?"

"How do you think?! She inhabited my body and took over my mind!" Gumball hissed.

Marshall rolled his eyes. "And yet, you seem surprisingly sane for Olivia being in control of your mind."

"I was possessed by the most evil person in Aaa!" Gumball hissed.

"Evil? No, not really. Crazy? Yes, she is. Very much so." Marshall said. Simon, Betty and I were just watching with interest.

Gumball groaned exasperatedly. "I have to get back to the Candy Kingdom, and supervise reconstruction. Marceline is already distributing the water purification tablets to the main water sources of Aaa, and sucking out the red. How someone like you ended up with such a polite sister is beyond me."

He left snootily, but then he stuck his head back in and said, "You know where to find me if you want more polite company, Fionna." Simon threw a snowball at him, making sure to miss. "Call first before you drop by!" He said cheerfully. Gumball shot him a withering look and left. Betty, who had been holding in her laughter, finally broke down. "Simon! You're so bad!"

Marshall high-fived Simon. "Dude, you should play baseball." He winked at me. and I hit his shoulder softly, causing him to laugh.

"Marshall!"

"Fi!" He said back in the same tone, before grabbing my waist and pulling me closer. I snuggled up against him with no complaints. Don't Simon and Betty have somewhere they have to be...? And therefore leaving us alone?

"So Prince Gumdrop finally fixed the weather. Good for him- he's the one who messed up the 'precipitation pattern' -as he put it- in the first place." Simon huffed.

He and Marshall high-fived again. Simon had taken to calling Gumball all of Marshall's nicknames for him once he heard about Gumball and The Ice Queen.

"He still doesn't believe in magic?" Betty asked.

"He referred to the messed up weather as an enchantment." Marshall pointed out.

"He had no other word for it. He's still a skeptic." I argued.

"Basically, Gumwad is not a believer of things that are dancing in front of his face." Simon finished.

Thinking I couldn't see, Marshall motioned to me. "Marshall, what are you doing?" I asked.

"Remember how you had a crush on Gumwad for the longest time?"

"Yeah. It was pretty stupid, now that I think about it. We have literally nothing in common, and he's as big of a wimp as Laurence." I said. Simon cracked up at that, and Betty hit him on the arm like I did to Marshall.

"What? Laurence is a coward. He was also the most evil person in Ooo for a while." Simon said, rubbing his arm, before he and Marshall cracked up again.

I tugged on Marshall's arm. "C'mon, Marshall. We have to go help out. Thanks for having us."

"No problem, Fionna. You two drop by anytime." Betty said, smiling.

"But call first!" Simon said quickly. Marshall shuddered a little, but we finally left.

"So where do we go?" He asked me.

"Okay, I'll admit it. It was kind of an excuse to get you all to myself." I admitted, smiling.

Marshall put his arms around my waist again. I looked up into his red eyes, ignoring his great grin.

"Oh you did, did you?" He asked, still grinning. I nodded, not looking away from his mesmerizing eyes. He kissed me softly. "Then let's go."

THIS IS NOT THE END! There are like, two more parts!

Also, you may be wondering what the point of Siofra is in this chapter. Well, the first chapter that she appeared in (in my Merricup story) was called 'The Cure'. I couldn't pass up the chance. Sorry.
