Olivia Jeanne McAllister
Okay. So there was all that. And so, after some debates, Marshall and I reached one conclusion. It would be impossible, but hey, I'm talking to the freaking Vampire King.
"Think about it! Compare Betty to the Ice Queen like how she was last week." I persisted.
"Fi, it's crazy! And then, why would Prince Blowpop put you in danger?!" Marshall practically exploded.
"Marshall- he thinks I can handle it! I've fought the Lich before- and unless he wants us to go halfway around the world, underwater to some grave to dig up a skeleton -which, by the way, has no blood, as you well know- and then extract some... I don't know. Marrow, maybe, or brain juice, which won't be there anymore, we might as well try."
"If you're right Fi, I'm going to kill him." Marshall muttered.
I shot him a look. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, he willingly put you in danger, didn't tell you about it, and then... oh, that bast... jerk. He knew exactly what he was doing. He's betting I'll know what he's up to, and be all noble and not let you do this, and then kill myself. And then you die too, unless you're not telling me something." Marshall said bitterly.
"Something this important?! Marshall!" I said, genuinely shocked he'd think that of me.
"Exactly. Which is why... no. Fi, we just can't do this." He said.
"Marshall, we'll do it together. You and me, together." I said.
He was silent for a minute, then said, "If I die, I don't really care. I'm already dead. But if you die Fi, and I don't, I'll never forgive myself. And the Candy People will never forgive me for killing Gumball in the most painful way I know how."
"You'd do that for me?" It was sweet... in a weird kind of way. But still sweet.
"Of course, Fi. I'd... we're there." There was a reeking, radioactive cesspool next to a cave. And not a nice cave, like Marshall's.
We touched down, and Marshall looked around. "I hope you're right, Fi. I also hope you don't die, and that one is sort of taking priority right now."
"Olivia?" I called.
"What do you want, Fionna the Human?" I heard her croak.
"Are you Olivia Jeanne McAllister?" I asked.
"I don't go by that name anymore. I haven't in many, many years."
"Oh, great. You were right." Marshall muttered. I glared at him, and he rolled his eyes.
"Ms. McAllister... first of all, why do you want to destroy the world?" I asked.
"Don't prolong it!" Marshall hissed. I glared at him again, and he smacked his forehead, like why is she still there?!
"I didn't always. I was once a human being like you. I was involved in... strange things, like time travel. But that isn't what turned me into this- what turned me into this form was my twin brother, Laurence."
"Laurence?" I asked.
"The idiot helped make the Mushroom Bomb. And then, once when he got promoted, he took me on a tour of his factory. He was the original Lich- even his thoughts became twisted. His hand had been infected by radiation, turning it into a claw not unlike my own. From there the infection reached his mind. He pushed me into a vat of the same things that made the Mushroom bomb and his appearance and mind alter, trying to kill me. But I survived. And I swore revenge. While he drove himself mad, I bided my time. Unfortunately, I waited too long. With the Mushroom Bomb, I was cast out into this newly unfamiliar world, and had to exact my revenge on everything else."
"Great. We heard her backstory. Can we get what we came for now?!" Marshall hissed to me.
"And what did you come for, Your Majesty?" The Lich asked, laughing cruelly.
"Leave him alone, Olivia!" I said angrily.
"Oh, young heroine. So confused. That stupid sweater that kept you safe from me last time would be useless to you now. Your affections have shifted. The best part is, its all so... confusing for you." The Lich laughed.
I unsheathed my sword. "Do you seriously want to take me on again, Olivia? Or is that just the evil talking? Are you going to let Laurence win again?" I asked, my voice harder than even Marshall's had been in the past few days.
Olivia was quiet for a few minutes. "What is it you want, Fionna?"
"A teaspoon of your blood- to give to Gumball to fix the weather."
"Mm. The bloody rain. It almost makes me wish I had paid attention in Sunday School." She merely sounded disinterested, not malicious anymore.
"So you'll do it?" I asked.
"Mm. Maybe. You made me remember what I truly hoped. I don't like that Candy Prince though. He rmeinds me too much of my backstabbing brother. Your new friend I like, he reminds me of an old friend of mine- long dead. And you do too."
"Simon and Betty? They're not dead."
"Lies!"
"No. Surely you remember the Ice Queen? Simon's crown, and how Betty went to Scandinaiva to find a cure?"
Olivia was silent again. "I will give you the blood. You have given me my sanity back, which is a very precious thing. But I can tell the solution to your... problem is to you as well." Her voice was changing, but I slid a teaspoon in, which she slid back out quickly, filled with a dark liquid.
A minute later, a brown haired girl in her twenties, dressed in a longsleeved t-shirt and jeans stumbled out of the Cave. "Ugh... why do I feel like I've got the world's worst hangover? And a cut finger?" She asked me.
"Because you changed underwent a major change, both physically and mentally." Marshall told her.
"Really? Isn't that interesting. So, do you two Disney royals know where my friends are?" She asked us.
"Friends?" I asked her, caught a little off balance.
"Yeah. One sciency looking guy (that's Simon, he has this whole TV show thing), and his redheaded girlfriend. Oh, and there's this little blonde girl I'm babysitting? She's like, my long-lost niece or whatever. She's about three- and her name's Fionna. I'm only mentioning it because she tells everyone she meets. But she's a tough little kid."
I blinked. "No, haven't seen her. But Simon and Betty are in the Ice Kingdom."
"Ice Kingdom. That's new. Okay, where am I? Laurence said if I got drunk at another theme park, he'd cut off all the wi-fi. Harry Potter World should warn you about the firewhiskey, okay? Anyway... okay, who're you supposed to be again?" She asked us.
"What?" Marshall asked her.
"Disney World. I know you can't break character or whatever... no, wait. Don't tell me... you're those people for that new flick... oh, god what's it called again?"
She looked towards us, then started mumbling, "Think, think, think."
The she had an idea. "Okay, Bunny Ears here is dressed up like that kid from My Sims Agents- the girlfriend of that corporate guy at the ski lodge who tries to frame the Yeti. Fist-bump, the Sims Agents are awesome on the Wii, no matter how old you are." I fist-bumped her, confused.
"And then, your friend here watched the movie Avatar and he's dressed like... I don't know, the Jake Sully guy maybe. Awesome movie, and awesome effort. Fist bump." Marshall fist bumped her, looking as confused as I felt.
"But neither of those are Disney... oh my god, I'm at a Comic Con! Sweeeeet. This explains so much. If anyone asks, I'm the Lich Queen and I forgot my costume. I use Laurence's account on his role-playing games often enough." Then she saluted us (making a sort of 'V' with her fingers, but not like the wizard 'V') and walked off, humming.
"I have the oddest feeling she'll be back." Marshall muttered. I nodded, and said, "Let's label her blood."
Marshall handled this one (he literally refused my help- what, is that some kind of macho thing?) all by himself. He then told me to get some sleep, it's a long flight to Ooo. Which then led back to another awkward conversation about sleeping arrangements. Basically, it was the same as last night, except he floated, instead of trapping me under his arm.
We then began the flight to Ooo the next morning. If you think about it, it's sort of useless. Marceline had told us that Bonnibel Ceinlys was the Candy Princess of Ooo, and I don't get why Gumball's blood wouldn't have worked just as well. Or Gertrude's instead of Gunter's. Or Bilie the Heroine, my personal role model. (Actually... I'm not quite sure if Billie is alive or dead. There was this whole thing with the Lich... yeah)
