Chapter 1 - Wake Up Call

-Present, June 6th-

"Sister! Sister!"

I groaned a little as I felt my little sister, Lukari, shake me awake.

"What?" I asked as I sat up and rubbed my eyes sleepily.

"It's time to get up. I made breakfast!" Lukari replied.

I flopped back down on the bed, as I sighed a little, before I rolled over and pulled the blanket over my head.

"C'mon. Gimme 5 more minutes.... Please?" I begged.

I felt Lukari yank the blanket off my body, making me let out a small whine.

"No, because you always sleep past 5 minutes once I wake you up and when you fall back asleep..." Lukari said as she tossed the blanket in my closet.

Damn' it, Lukari.

"Why do you always have to be a little bit strict about when I sleep?" I asked wearily as I got up from the bed and took a shower before I started getting dressed after drying my hair.

"So you don't become an insomniac..." Lukari replied simply.

"But, I'm a dark type pokémon and you know that! I don't wake up until nightfall so I don't fall asleep during my job as a night guard over at the local art museum!!

It's hard to keep an eye out for any burglars when you're sleepy on the job y'know!" I complained as I stated my reason.

"Then you can take a light nap around 4:00 and get up around 8:00 in the evening so you'll be prepared for your night guard job..." Lukari replied simply again, before she opened up the curtains to let the sunlight in my bedroom once I was fully dressed.

"Until then...You need to eat. Not rest. You'll starve yourself if you keep sleeping in until 2:00." Lukari sighed as she turned around to face me.

I started to rub myself between the eyes as I sighed in annoyance.

Ugh.

My own 25 year old little sister.

Starting to sound more like Mom when we were 'lil mons.

Yes, 'lil mons is my fancy way of saying "pre-evolution pokémon".

It's just how I like saying it.

And it sounds better that way in my opinion.

"Fine..." I said as I gave Lukari my "Alright...I give up...You win" look.

Lukari smiled a little to herself, knowing that she won this argument, before she sat down on my bed and started to help me brush my poofed up hair.

My hair always gets poofy right after I use my hair dryer.

"It's surprising that Lukari can be so calm for a clumsy girl like her...That makes me wonder...How is she pulling this off while remaining calm about this?" I think to myself as I looked at Lukari's ruby eyes.

To be honest, I envy Lukari.

She looks exactly like our mother.

I wish I had her hair and her ruby eyes.

But, I like my green eyes and purple hair better.

A lot of other pokémon tell me that I look really cute and pretty as my sister is.

I'm grateful that sis and I got our good looks from mum and dad.

"You want your hair up in a ponytail, braid, scrunchie, or you want your hair down?" Lukari suddenly asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"I want my hair in a scrunchie...Like the usual..." I replied.

"Okay..." Lukari says before she fixed my hair up in a scrunchie, using the green hair bead I wear constantly.

Then she setted my hairbrush aside.

"Alrighty, then...I'm done." Lukari said to me before she got off of my bed and stood up to stretch the tiredness out of her body.
