Two months later

In his overpriced expensive Ralph Lauren two-piece suit, Scott Ontario made his way down the hallway of the company building heading to his office (he was the new head of marketing department) as he was greeted by all the staff. Honestly, he himself had been surprised by the way he became more responsible and dedicated to work unlike before. Everyone had noticed the drastic change in him, even the public took note of his withdrawal from the media. This change all started weeks after his engagement to Amanda Chester.

Only the Ontarios knew why the sudden change. Ethan Ontario had told Scott that if he could act responsible then his engagement to Amanda would be lifted.

Since then, Scott had tried to be on his father's good book surprising his family and himself. So many things he took for granted, he now became accountable and sensible. It was a whole new Scott Ontario.

"Mr Ontario." His assistant rushed to him quickly as soon as he got off the elevator.

"You have a visitor." She told him while trying to keep up with Scott.

"I asked the personnel manager to get the database of all the staffs, has he given it to you?" Scott asked while working towards his office.

"Not yet, I spoke to him about it and he said this afternoon, 2pm sharp." His assistant, Miss Betty told him.

"How about the appointment with the workers at the mine, has my brother said anything about it?" Scott asked her. Before Betty could talk, he spoke, "Has anyone been sent to oversee the work at our mines?"

Betty cleared her throat. "Sir, I really think you should know who is here to meet you." Betty told him nervously when she saw that he was reaching for the door.

"Who, mom?" Scott asked, twisting the door handle.

"No..." Betty hesitated for a while. "It's  your fiancée." She bowed her head.

Scott froze his hand on the door and turned to Betty. "What?"

Betty raised her head. "I tried to stop her but she wouldn't listen, she threatened to call security on me. And... She—she is your fiancée I could not—"

Scott raised a hand, silencing Betty at once. "I'll take it from here."

Betty nodded immediately, turning to take to her heels.

Scott fisted the handle of the door, till his kuckle turned red. He threw the door open and that's when he saw her— Amanda. She was dressed in a skimpy black dress barely covering her whole body, her face was baked with makeup. Scott couldn't fathom how he was attracted to her in the first place, the only thing in his heart was pure hatred.

"I won't say this twice, get out." He deadpanned, watching her sit on his table with her legs crossed. She was feeling important. He wished he could wipe the dirty smirk off her face so bad.

There was never any relationship between the couple. Scott loathed her and was not concealing the fact, he didn't want her around, he despised her whole being! He would have known, she was just a gold digging whore, always threatening to tell everyone about their fake engagement. But of course he knew she could not do it because Scott knew Amanda liked all the fame and attention she got, even the riches she enjoyed now was all thanks to Scott. Then again, if Amanda decided to open her mouth to create another media sensation, then his father would really DISOWN and DISINHERIT him.

Amanda rolled her eyes. "Is that all you've got?" She smiled at him, thrusting her chest forward. "Baby, we are engaged to be married the least you can do is fake that you're happy." Her smile turned to a smirk.

Like Scott said, Amanda was only after his money and the fame. Although, a part of her believed that Scott felt something for her that was why he could not let her go. Her own theory why Scott's family didn't interfere with the engagement was that maybe his family, especially his father, didn't care about it or that they were waiting for the right time to explode.

Did she like Scott? Yes, she did, even with the way he treated her coldly.

"I'm calling in security." Scott took out his phone.

Amanda stood up. "You don't need to do that, I came here for a reason." She said to him.

"Wanna talk to me, use your fucking phone. Don't come looking for me in this building or my house, you got that?" He said, walking past her. "The door is in front of you." He walked up to his chair.

Amanda whipped her head back at him. "You can't treat me this way!" She stomped her leg, glaring at him.

Scott sat on his swivel chair, opening up some files. "I can treat you how ever I like." He said, sparing her no glance.

"I am your fiancée Scott! I deserve to be treated like one." Amanda snapped at him.

Scott sighed. He still had a lot of work to be done and Amanda was being a nuisance. He just had to ignore her. "Can you leave already, I'm about to lose my patience." Scott warned her, still not glancing at her.

Amanda took in a deep breath and closed her eyes trying to remove bad energy, she opened her eyes and she smiled. "Baby, I'm gonna go now okay? We'll talk some other time." Amanda told him. "Bye." She decided to walk up to him to give him a kiss.

"Don't even think about it." He said with his voice in a very threatening way. Immediately, Amanda halted.

She turned back, leaving the office.

Scott shifted all the files away angrily. He just couldn't stand the woman!

"Hi, can I get mini carrot cupcakes?" A teenage female customer requested from the counter.

"Sure sweetheart." The female attendant, smiled at the teenage.

"And two strawberry caramel sundae." The teenager said to the lady behind the counter.

"Okay." The attendant left to get the girl's order.

The new opened branch was as successful as the ones in Ireland. In two months, AnStin treats pastry restaurant had gained public eyes, it was the talk of the town. Everyone wanted to get a taste of their delicious goodies and Anna was always getting clients who wanted her to bake their wedding cake, birthday cake, any kind of cake for any occasion.

"Madame," one of the people working in the resturant came to meet her. "There is someone insisting to meet you, she says she wants a cake and she would like to talk to you."

"Me?" Anna was in the storeroom, checking for all supplies. "She should meet Jackie, let Jackie take her order." Anna said to the lady. She was used to customers requesting that Anna herself take the order but Anna was only there temporary, she was already training Jackie who was just as good as her.

"She said if not you, no one else. She's really adamant." The lady said.

Anna sighed. Customers. "I'll be right there, give me a minute or two."

"Okay." After nodding, the lady left.

Anna went into her office, she took off her chef uniform. She was dressed in blue crew-neck tee and denim jeans. She went into her private restroom, rinsed her face and dabbed it with a small towel. She had to look presentable.

"Hilda, where is the lady?" Anna asked the lady who had come to inform her.

"Table number seven, the one close to the window." Hilda said to her.

Anna walked out, heading for table seven which had the window view. The lady was engrossed, reading the menu book.

"Good afternoon," Anna gave a warm smile and that was when the lady looked up. "You requested to see me."

"Oh!" The lady gave a big smile at Anna.

Before Anna, sat an olive skinned dark haired lady. She definitely looked Latina. Anna instantly knew the full lashes the lady had on were too fake to be real, the lady wore a mini black transparent see through dress.

"I'm Anna Windsor, Head Chef." Anna said taking her seat, directly facing the lady.

"I'm Amanda, I'm getting married. You can call it the wedding of the year, and so, I need your help." Amanda smiled happily.

The light reflected in Amanda's eyes and Anna glanced briefly at it. Her eyes were Hazel, but darker and fiercer. It made Anna wonder if they were just lenses.

"So Amanda, I heard you didn't want my assistant to help with it. I assure you that she's as good as I am and she can handle whatever you desire." Anna said politely.

Amanda rolled her eyes. "The reason I'm here is because I have tasted your special cream cake and I must say it is the best I've tasted so far. You're the only one that would get the creativity I've cooked up in my head." She stated.

Anna kept smiling. "Okay, why don't I show you our gallery and have you pick out what you think is—"

She waved her hand carelessly. "I've gone through your gallery online, they are okay, but I didn't see what I want. Like I said, I want to invent what my cake is gonna look like."

"Okay... Sure." Anna nodded slowly. "Let's hear it." Anna gestured for her to continue.

"Here it is...." Amanda started describing the cake while Anna mentally noted everything.

To Anna, Amanda wanted a big cake, an extravagant one to say. She wanted the cake to be seven ft tall, made with different, tasty layers of frosting, she didn't want the traditional white cake, Amanda wanted a red cake with lots and lots of detailed characters of the movie Bridgerton (which in fact Anna hasn't watched). It was really Amanda's invented cake.

"Aren't you supposed to write all that I've said down or something?" Amanda paused her long list, frowning at Anna.

"You don't have to worry, you'll get everything you want. Would that be all?" Anna asked, hopeful that Amanda was done talking.

"I was also thinking...." Amanda seemed excited to talk about her idea.

Oh boy. Anna was sentenced to listen for another three minutes of Amanda's cake design. It's a wedding cake! Not a little girl's birthday cake for crying out loud. Anna wanted to scream at her.

"What do you think?" Amanda smiled proudly thinking Anna was really dedicated to helping her actualize her dream cake because Anna had a smile plastered on her face.

Anna exhaled still smiling. "That was quite the explanation." She chuckled.

Amanda laughed. "I know right?! It's my wedding, I want everything to be perfect! I just can't wait." She told Anna.

"So when is the wedding?" Anna decided to ask her.

"Well..." Amanda tossed her hair from her face. "We're yet to set a date. With so many things going on right now, my fiancé travels a lot and so I want to fix a date that aligns with his schedule." Amanda told her, purposely flashing her ring at Anna's face.

Anna wanted to roll her eyes mentally but then she had to take two looks at the ring. "Nice ring, it's really beautiful." Anna said, staring at Amanda's finger. It looked like something she had seen before, but where?

"It's really expensive you know, cost a fortune." Amanda loved showing off the heirloom ring. She thrusted her hand forward, gesturing for Anna to get a better look.

"May I?" Anna requested permission to hold Amanda's hand. Amanda nodded. "It's stunning." She took Amanda's hand, studying the ring. "Your fiancé must really love you."

Anna knew that the ring was so familiar but she could not recall where she had seen it. It was a round and marquise center ruby ring with smaller diamonds around the ring.

Amanda blushed, turning pink. "Of course he does." She pulled her hand away from Anna. "He is the best and we are so much in love."

Anna smiled. "Awwwn. Don't worry, I'll make the cake you want, it will be the best, the talk of town." Anna reassured her.

"I knew I came to the right place." Amanda was satisfied with Anna's approach. "When can I come for the cake tasting?"

"Whenever you're ready, you'll just have to let me know so that I can prepare." Anna nodded with a smile.

"Okay." Amanda pulled out her phone. "I'll need your number."

"Usually, I don't give out my number. For you I will." Anna said to her before collecting Amanda's phone to input her number.

Amanda dialed the number and Anna's phone rang in her hand. "So, that is my number."

Anna nodded, taking a glance at her phone. "Okay."

Amanda looked at her phone. "Gosh, I have an appointment at the spa, I have to go. I'll see you.... Next time?" Amanda stood up.

Anna stood too. "Yes." She brought her hand out for a handshake but Amanda pulled her into an unexpected hug.

"Great. Till then." Amanda broke away, before walking out.

Anna inhaled for a moment and then exhaled. Why did she feel something off about this woman? She decided not to dwell on it as she shrugged it off. Anna went into the kitchen, calling her assistant. Jackie.

Jackie was a chubby Asian American, she was not tall. Monoloid eyes, chubby cheeks too.

    "Yes Anna?" Jackie answered.

"Have you watched Bridgerton?" Anna inquired.

"Yeah, it's a pretty interesting movie." Jackie told Anna.

"We have an unusual client. Wedding cake red, defined with the characters of Bridgerton. Seven ft tall and blah blah blah..."

Jackie chuckled. "She could have looked for a more befitting theme for her cake than Bridgerton."

Anna shook her head. "I'll browse the movie later, you could think of something to impress her. I trust you."

"Are you giving me the work?" Jackie blinked at her.

"Let's just say you're the head designer and I'll just be beside you as your assistant." Anna grinned at her. "Anyways! I'm exhausted, I'm going home. I'll see you tomorrow." Anna said while walking out.

    "Bye!" Jackie waved.

Scott stood under his shower, allowing the water cleanse his body while he had one hand against the wall. The place was rather too quiet as he got out of his bathroom. He glanced around his room, ruffling his wet hair with a towel.

His bed was neatly arranged, a thought ran through his mind. When last had he gotten laid? It's been almost three weeks. Three weeks?! That's the longest he had stayed without sex. Ever since his false engagement to Amanda, he never touched her but had his fun with other women. Amanda was aware of this, but she knew that those women were nothing but night stands to satisfy his immediate urge. She was the one he was going to marry, other girls were just too jealous of her.

Come to think of it, until when did he have to put up with the charade? When was his father lifting the engagement? 3 months? 5 months? A year? How long was he going to stay engaged to Amanda?!

"Daniel." Scott spoke to his phone. He had called Daniel.

    "What's up?" Daniel answered.

"I wanted to know about the miners, what happened?" Scott asked.

There was an accident at one of the mines, although no one was seriously injured but some workers demanded an audience with someone from the top.

"I have taken care of everything. The accident was caused by negligence but it's all being taken care of." His brother assured him. "I heard Amanda came to see you at the office."

Scott chuckled. "News travels fast huh. I really need to speak to our security team, that woman should be banned from the building." He spoke with scorn.

"Don't worry, it will all be over soon. You've been impressing dad lately, I'm sure he will change his mind sooner."

"I am beginning to think he loves seeing me suffer. I just want Amanda out of my life for good. Heaven knows that woman is driving me crazy." Scott spoke his mind.

Daniel sighed weakly. "I gotta go man, I had an exhausting trip back home."

"Was it Ireland again?" Scott asked him.

Daniel was silent for a moment. "Yeah."

Scott scoffed. "Man, what's in Ireland that you go there so often? I didn't want to say this but mom and dad are becoming suspicious."

   "They are?"

"Of course they are! Who wouldn't be? I'm your brother, why don't you tell me what's so special about Ireland." Scott asked him.

"Ireland makes me happy. It's my happy place. A place where I don't need to be the Daniel Ontario, perfect son of Ethan Ontario."

Scott laughed heartily. "You're flattering yourself Daniel." He joked.

Daniel chuckled softly. "I don't think you understand. You're used to being you, but I'm not like that."

"Yeah. The favored son, Daniel Ontario. The good kid." Scott chuckled. "But seriously, don't fall in love. I know what I'm saying. Women aren't worth it, take for instance that bitch Amanda." He told Daniel.

He laughed. "You only say that because you haven't met her yet."

    "Who?" Scott raised a brow.

    "The one." Daniel answered him.
