Chapter 23 || The Torturous Past of Thapar's

Anaisha reached her home at 12 noon. When she reached home, only Leher was there, who greeted her and asked her in a concerned voice, "All fine Anaisha? How's Kabir now? He was so much depressed yesterday."

Anaisha smiled lightly at her sister-in-law, and said in a exhausted voice, "Yes all is fine Bhabhi and Kabir's better now. Can we please talk about this later, please? I'm really tired."

Leher flashed her an understanding smile and replied, "Okay! You go and take rest. I'll bring coffee for you." Anaisha gave a nod and went to her room. As she left for her room, Leher went to the kitchen to prepare coffee for her smiling to herself, seemed like finally everything will be smooth for them now!

Dressed in Kabir's loose full-sleeved grey pullover and her denim shorts, she entered her room and lied down on her bed after removing her sneakers. Yesterday night was exhausting, mentally and emotionally! She had never in her wildest dream ever imagined Kabir to be like how he was yesterday. After what happened yesterday, their equation surely did have changed. Everything had surely changed! But she was grateful for whatever had happened between them last night as she never felt this close to him. He had proved her that she really was an integral part of his life. She was his present and absolutely his future!

Leher came to her room with her coffee after some minutes. She understood by Anaisha's face that this was not the right time to ask her anything. So she kept her coffee on the side table and caressed her Anaisha's hairs. She told Annie to have her coffee and left her room, closing the door behind her.
Anaisha sipped her coffee and started recalling yesterday's events.......

She observed Kabir, who after telling her the reason for this sudden visit, was looking straight at the road while driving. She could see something sparkle at the corner of his eyes. She was right; he wanted to share his past with her! But his pale face was giving her second thoughts. Should she stop him from talking about his troubled past? Or should she encourage him to share it? What if he shared it, and then got even more depressed? Or what if after sharing it, he felt better and lighter? This was so damn confusing!

They reached Kabir's home after a silent ride. They went inside and then Kabir took her upstairs. She thought that they were going into his room but that wasn't their destination. He went and stood in front of a room which was locked. The same room, about which when she asked him on their first date, he said that it belonged to someone who meant a lot to him and at that moment he wasn't ready to reveal anything else about it. So she didn't ask him further. 'But why are we here?' she wondered.

Kabir opened that room with the key and led her inside. He made her sit on the couch and went towards the cupboards to take out something. Anaisha looked around herself. The room seemed to belong to a small kid, a little girl precisely. There were stuff toys, board games, girly accessories, a twin sized bed covered with pink and purple bedsheet and the whole room was painted in the same colour as the bedsheet.

There were some pictures; few had a small girl in them while in few a guy and that girl were, the guy in those pictures looked like a young Kabir. There were few pictures in which Kabir's parents were there with the girl and the boy, and honestly they looked really happy in them. She hadn't seen that much happiness in their eyes whenever she met them. Looking around gave her a slight idea about what was coming next. She knew whatever it was, its end won't be a merry one.

She was still gazing at the pictures and the stuff kept in the room that she didn't notice when Kabir came back with a box containing some photo albums and sat beside her on the couch. "Anaisha?" Kabir asked her in a low voice.

"Huh...huh?" Anaisha replied, startled with Kabir's sudden whisper. She looked at him and then the photo album he was holding. He opened the album, there were pictures of his parents, probably from their wedding.

Before she could ask him anything, he started speaking in a soft yet painful voice, "My parents met each other at my maternal aunt's wedding and fell for each other at first sight. They literally fell in love with each other at first sight! They were so much in love, that after dating each other for just six months, they decided to get married. I guess this was their first mistake!

"Their families had no issues with it since my paternal and maternal grandfathers were friends with each other. My parents got married soon and after marriage they realized what a big mistake they did! You know what they felt for each other was not actually love; it was just strong feeling of attraction that's it! That's what I believe otherwise things wouldn't have fallen apart for them!
Just after one year of marriage, they were already on loggerheads with each other.

"Dad hated mom's work alcoholic and self-centered nature and mom hated his overbearing behaviour and orthodox mentality. My GM told me that their fights used to go on for so long, that many a times they didn't talk to each other for a long time. They had personality clashes, ego problems and superiority complex issues.

"When they got married, they didn't see the pros and cons of this relation. They only saw that they love each other.....and that was wrong according to me. For them it was enough that they loved each other. I really wish they had kept on believing that.

"Their issued were drifting them apart so on their parents' advices they decided to solved their problems and have a child........and that's how I came into this world."

His paused for a minute to look at Anaisha, who very attentively was listening to him. Seeing her pay her full attention towards him, he continued with the same sad tone in his voice, "After I was born, their fights stopped for a while but soon they were back to square one! My mom felt that being a mother became a hindrance in her career and dad wasn't helping her purposely because he didn't want her to work. Dad on the other hand thought that mom wasn't serious about her child or husband and was being selfish.

"Their issues, instead of resolving, increased even more. When I turned two, my mom thought that I won't need her anymore. So she resumed her work and left me under the care of my GM and Granddad. For her, it was like; her life was same as before. She got so much engrossed with her work that she forgot that she even had a small son of two years.

"Dad didn't like that at all. Though due to his profession, he wasn't himself able to be there with me. He wanted mom to quit her career or at least take a hiatus for some time but mom didn't give in as she had already taken a break of two years after I was born.

She and dad again got in a fight because of mom's decision of continuing her work. They always used to try to avoid each other as much as they could to avoid getting into fights as it was becoming obvious for everyone to guess that things weren't right between them.

"And they were never bothered about me! If not for GM and Granddad then I don't know how I would have survived!" His voice was cracking by then. Anaisha squeezed his hand to assure him that she's there for him. She kept the photo album aside and hugged him tightly. Kabir hugged her back.

He gulped the lump in his throat and then continued in a tormented voice, "The differences between my parents kept on increasing, but they still remained married to each other just for their social status and society! I was six, when my parents after lot of pestering and convincing from their families, decided to give their marriage a second chance. They tried their best to mend their issues and were successful in doing that but then......my mom got pregnant for the second time with my baby sister, Samyra!"

Hearing this, Anaisha gasped, realizing the girl in the pictures which were hanging on the wall was Samyra, Kabir's little sister! While Anaisha was contemplating this, she felt a tear fall on her forehead. She looked up and saw Kabir's blood shot red eyes filled with tears.

She wiped his tears with her hand and corcernedly pleaded, "Look Kabir if this is tormenting you so much then please doesn't continue further. I can't see you like this. Damn this past thing, I don't want to know anything on the cost of seeing you so vulnerable."

Kabir smiled weakly at her and whispered blankly, "True, it hurts me like hell but now I've made up my mind to share this with you. It actually makes me feel a little lighter. I've never trusted anyone so much so as to share it with them. But I trust you more than my life Anaisha; please let me talk about it. Please!"

Anaisha looked at him and gave him a nod to go ahead but hoped in her heart that it won't hurt him more. She couldn't see him like this, so miserable and weak. She prayed whatever it was, it shouldn't hurt him now. But then why did she feel that the worse part was still left?

He picked up another album and opened it; there were lots of photos, of him and Samyra in them. He pointed at her pictures and spoke to Anaisha with an admiration filled voice, "That's Samyra! She's cute ain't she? You know I loved her a lot. My baby sister, my little badmaash!" He showed her some more pictures of Samyra doing silly stuff and antics and recalled all those happy times he had with her.

Anaisha saw immense pain in his eyes when he was looking at his sister's pictures. She wiped his tears and rubbed his arms. He sat quiet for a while after showing all the pictures, and she too just kept soothing his pain with her silent assurance.

He gave her a small smile and continued in a tormented voice, "Mom wasn't happy with the news of her second pregnancy. She thought that again the same things would happen but with dad's reassurance that they'll make it through it and will together raise me and Samyra, she agreed.

"After Samyra's birth, our lives were completely changed! We felt like a family again. All because of Samyra! My parents even apologised to me about their lack of responsibility towards me and promised that they won't repeat it but.....I wish they had stood by that promise!

"I was eleven, when mom again resumed her work. Samyra was four then so there wasn't any problem for her in resuming her work. But soon after rejoining her work mom again got very busy and she hardly had any time for us. This caused issues between my parents once again and led to their bitter fights. I used to be so much disturbed by their fights, that most of the times I used to be with Samyra in this room. This room was hers, I guess you must have realized that by now.

"The only reason I felt normal was her, my angel. You know Samyra meant the world to me. She was like an angel sent from heaven to help me out of my miseries and keep me sane in such troubled environment of my house. She and my grandparents were the reason why I never ran away from here or did anything reckless. But certainly, God didn't like to see me happy!"

Anaisha felt something weird, if Kabir had a sister then where was she now? All the times that she had came here, she either met his GM or his parents but never ever met Samyra. Did this means she was..? She shuddered while thinking the worst of all the things possible. She got confused about it but didn't know whether she should ask him about her doubt or not.

But at last, she asked Kabir in an unsurely, "But where's Samyra now? I mean all the times I came here, she was never here.....so does this means she is....?"

As soon as she finished saying this, Kabir's eyes became dead and his face pale. Tears started rolling down his cheeks and he said chokingly, "Y-You g-guessed right, s-she is dead...dead!"

Anaisha regretted asking him about his sister! Now she knew why he never wanted to talk about his past.

Damn her! She should've never asked him about his past. His this condition was because of her. It was all her fault! Stupid her! Anaisha mentally cursed herself.

"She was five years old that time. It was the month of July, rain was pouring heavily for continuous two days and that was why the weather was so cold and chilly. Samyra had gotten drenched in rain a day before after which she was suffering from fever and because of the weather her condition worsened. We thought maybe it was because of hypothermia because she was diagnosed with mild hypothermia when she was born. She was in need of an immediate medical treatment and was supposed to be taken to hospital as soon as possible.

"Mom was busy with her work and dad too had a hectic schedule. Only me and GM were at home. Granddad was out of station that day. Her fever was not getting any better and her condition was getting worse with each passing minute.

"GM tried to contact mom but she was unavailable. She called dad, who told her to immediately bring Samyra to the hospital. Since it was raining quite badly, no vehicle was available and GM didn't know how to drive. Your parents helped us that time. They took us to the hospital but Samyra's condition became really severe. Dad had already arranged everything and was waiting for us with the Child Specialist who was supposed to treat Samyra. We were still trying to contact my mom but no success.
We reached hospital and your mother went with us inside while your dad was trying to contact my mother.

"Samyra's treatment quickly started and the doctor and his team were trying their best to save her. Dad and your dad kept on trying to contact mom who finally reached the hospital. She was irritated with us as she had to leave her meeting in between. But when she reached the hospital, she realized how crucial the situation was!"

Kabir stopped speaking for a minute. Anaisha quickly went and brought water for him. He drank it and closed his eyes. Though all the things till now were breaking him but the next part was the one that would break him into million pieces.

That memory which always breaks him, piece by piece! But he won't back off now. He'll completely come clear of his past. He opened his eyes and was about to speak when Anaisha kept her hand on his mouth and moved her head in a no to stop him.

But he removed her hand and continued speaking painfully, "After two hours the doctor came out. We all rushed towards him. Don't know why but by seeing his expressions we knew something's not right! Finally he spoke, he said that Samyra's condition was really severe and they weren't sure whether she could make it or not. He said that due to delay in her treatment, her condition had worsened and all we could do was hope!

"He also said that her condition was not due to hypothermia since she suffered from mild hypothermia. He said it was because of some other disease, probably a heart disease! Her heart wasn't working properly because of which blood circulation wasn't proper and she had difficulty in breathing too. So dad quickly contacted one of the best cardiac surgeons of Delhi. The cardiac surgeon agreed to come but it would take him some time to reach of because of the rain and the traffic jams.

"You know it was so painful and such a torture to see my baby sister like that. So much pale and lifeless! She was in I.C.U. and there were so many machines attached to her. If that was in my power then I would have taken away all her suffering and made her well. But it wasn't!

"It was around 2 am, when the cardiac surgeon finally reached the hospital. Immediately after reaching the hospital, he asked for the reports of the test he had asked to perform on Samyra. About half an hour later, he came out of the cabin and said that Samyra was suffering from Congenital Pulmonary Valve Stenosis and this defect was required to be surgically corrected by balloon valvuloplasty at the earliest.

"He said that he had called his assistants to the hospital and once they come, the surgery will be performed and till then Samyra's condition might have become stable. It was then that we all realised that the actual reason for Samyra falling ill so easily was her heart condition.

"We were hoping her to survive as the cardiac surgeon said that the surgery would make her better. But then as I said before God wasn't in our favour.

"It was around 5 in morning, when Samyra started having difficulty in breathing, dad immediately called her doctor and they checked her. But after few minutes of attempting to save her, sh..she was de..declared dead. Before even the corrective surgery could've been performed on her, her tiny heart gave up and she suffered a cardiac arrest. The weather and her medical condition took a toll on her and that led to her death!

"You know it was so hard to see her lying motionless and not breathing. She wasn't supposed to die that way! She was just, just a kid, a five years old kid for crying out loud! She was supposed to play with me, fight with me, laugh with me, trouble me, and live a healthy life!

"Doctors said she could've been saved if she would've been brought at earlier or her heart condition could've been diagnosed before! But we couldn't do either of that and that's why we lost her!

"I cried a lot, a lot! I lost the only sister, the one for whom I've cared the most, the one who was not only my sister but my baby! I lost her!"

He paused for a moment and continued, "But she was not the only one I lost, on that day along with, with her I lost my family! After Samyra's death, my parents had a huge showdown which broke my family completely! GM tried to stop them but she couldn't. They both blamed each other for Samyra's death, instead of supporting each other through this loss. Their blame game kept going on and with each passing second, we were leading to become a broken family. I felt very helpless at that moment, first I couldn't do anything for my sister and second I couldn't stop my parents from inflicting more wounds at each other and me!

"After that day my parents' simply engrossed themselves in their works and forgot about me completely. My parents were alive but I'd always lived like an orphan. If not for GM, granddad and Aarav then maybe I would've not been able to survive. But when I was 13 years old, my granddad too left me and GM alone. After his death, only me and GM have been with each other. And I'll be damned if something happens to her."

He was hugging Anaisha who too was crying with him. It was like as if, she felt his pain and sorrow! His fears about her reaction were gone and he felt relief! He never expected her to be like this, so silent yet so supportive.

"After that day when Samyra died, we have been like how we are now!", he said in a dull voice. Anaisha wiped his tears and asked him, "Kabir its because of Samyra na why you chose cardiac surgery as your speciality?" Kabir looked at her, astonished by her guess.

Not many people were aware of this but his deceased sister was the reason why he chose to become cardiac surgeon. He held her hand and spoke in hoarse voice, "On the day of her death, I oathed that when I'll grow up, I'll become a paediatric cardiac surgeon because though I couldn't do anything for my sister, I wanted to save those other kids of her age and give them a healthy life. During my internship, I was assisting my senior in a valve surgery of a five years old girl. Before the surgery I was fine and quite determined to do my best but when the surgery started, I felt like a bit of deja vu.

"It was like as if my sister's incident was taking place again. Though I tried to avoid that by not paying attention to it but when I looked at the girl's face, I felt like it was Samyra. It just, it made me all weak and brought back Samyra's memories and I became numb. It was not easy for me to continue with the surgery and my senior granted me permission to leave because of my pale face and glassy eyes. As soon as I went out of the OT, I fainted because of all the things going on in my head.

"This happened twice with me, both of the time I felt like it was my Samyra I was going to operate on and this fear of failure engulfed me. After these failed trials, I realized that I couldn't go ahead with my choice of speciality because every time I'll see my sister in the face of the child I'd be operating on, and the fear of not being able to save her wouldn't let me focus on my work so I backed out of it. Instead of pediatric cardiac surgery, I chose just cardiac surgery, as atleast in some way I was able to keep my oath that I took after Samyra's death!"

Anaisha cupped his face and gave him a peck on his forehead. She held his hand in hers and said with pride in her voice, "Yes you kept your vow Kabir and I'm proud of you for that! Kabir if you don't mind then can I ask you something? Why have you never talked about this with anyone else? Not even GM or Aarav Bhai? Why did you chose me to open up about it? I know I bugged you by asking you about this but still I want to know your reason for sharing this with me."

Kabir looked at their hands which were still intertwined and pressed his lips against her hand. He smiled at lightly and said in a less tormented voice, "I only had three people who I could call my own, GM, Avi and Shaina. But never ever did I open up with them about this. I've kept this thing hidden in my heart because I never wanted to project myself as weak or vulnerable.

All my life, I always prayed for happiness and normalcy in my life. And then God sent you in my life! You know after witnessing such things in my life, I didn't have the guts to lose one more person, that's why I never let anyone come close to me emotional. I just hated everything about myself, my life, for being the person I am! The way my parents' marriage have fallen apart, I never wanted that to happen with me so I decided to never fall in love and never get married! But then when you came in my life, I didn't know why but I let you come close to me and enter my fortress that I'd built so many years ago. And unknowingly I fell in love with you!

"Though it took me time to finally realize it. In these eight months, the way you have made your space in my heart and life, no one has ever been capable of that, and I can't deny that. The way you penetrated through my walls and touched my soul, even though I was always defensive and tried my best to not let you to close. But you challenged that and your love made me change my decision. I know you're wondering why I never shared about this incident with anyone else, but Anaisha, after being with you for eight months, three months as your boyfriend, I can say now that all my hopes and wishes are from you!

"I knew that you would never let me to get shattered and lose me to my past. GM and Aarav are close to me, but it was you who brought out my deepest fears and made realise such a coward I've been by hiding behind my mask. You made stand against my fears and become braver. You embraced me with my flaws without even complaining once. You're the only person who showed me who I really I am instead of being someone else! And the reason why I chose you, is because I knew only you are capable of handling me at any given situation, be it good or bad!"

By the end of his sentence, Kabir was smiling. He felt better. His fears about Anaisha were vanished the second he saw Anaisha supporting him quietly instead of showing him her sympathy. And now he'll tell her everything he had never told her before. His GM was right, by sharing his sorrows with someone; the intensity of it did decrease. But now it was time of the good things to get shared. Even though he was dating her, but still he had never told her a lot of things which she needed to know.

"Do you know when I realized that I was in love with you?", Kabir asked her with a shy smile.

Anaisha knew that he wanted to light up the situation, so she too played along and said with a pout, "No, not exactly! But yeah I guess after that medical camp. Because after that camp only did you stopped talking to me!"

Kabir kissed her forehead and whispered shyly, "Yeah you guessed it right! When we were returning from the camp and while sleeping you kept your head on my chest, that was the time I realised my feelings for you! Holding you in my arms that time, made me feel shamelessly complete and at that moment I couldn't ask for anything better. But then my troubled life made me weak and I decided to stay away from you. But I guess that was stupid on my part.

"Although I decided to stay firm on that! But then you know how much I used to get jealous whenever you used to hang out with Nikhil. At those times, all I wanted to do was to strangle him and take you away. But I couldn't do that since you weren't even mine. And that day when I saw with Nikhil in the parking lot, I lost it completely. I'm really sorry for whatever I said that day. I really am!"

"Kabir please don't apologise! We sorted out na? So please leave it like that, okay? And you know what; I love your possessiveness and jealousy. You look really cute with that jealous frown," Anaisha said lovingly to stop him from starting with his apologies again. He had apologised to her trillion of times! So she changed the topic.

Kabir shook his head and replied in his husky voice, "Well prepare yourself madam 'cause I would never share you with anyone!"

Anaisha mumbled romantically, "As if I'll ever share you!"

After that, Kabir showed her his and Samyra's pictures and told her many stories of theirs. It was bittersweet for him 'cause he was feeling happy as well as sad. But with Anaisha with him, he knew he'll be fine. He was proud of his choice. He thought that she would sympathize with him or be pitiable towards him.

But he was wrong; she though didn't say anything but just with her presence soothed his pain. She didn't even flinch once while he was telling her about his life, but rather she tightened her grip on him. And he liked that! He always thought she was a kid, but he was wrong. She was mature beyond her age! It was the first time, he had seen her, this much mature and sensible.

Anaisha hated Kabir's broken state. But she couldn't do anything about it. She felt his pain and suffering. It was like as if they were one soul!

Did this was what true love is like? Did this mean that when you truly love someone, you feel their pain? This meant she and Kabir truly loved each other? Of course they did otherwise he would've have shared his life's darkest secrets with her.

She felt bad for him and Samyra. Samyra, his deceased baby sister. She never really thought that he had gone through so much. But she didn't want to show him sympathy or pity because that was against his dignity. And she knew her words won't soothe his pain no matter how nice they were, so she sat silently beside him and tried to calm him down with her presence.

What she didn't understand, was his parent's behaviour! She was perplexed by his parent's actions! How could his parents be so cruel with him? How could they treat him like this? But she knew that they did love him. Though they weren't able to show it, yet she knew that they regretted everything they did. Because if they didn't then his parents wouldn't have asked her to not repeat their mistakes and always be with Kabir. But she won't tell him about this now. This wasn't the right time for this! Atleast until he was okay!

She wanted to take all his pain and wounds away, and give him all the happiness in this world! True she couldn't change his troubled past but she can change his present and his future! So she promised herself that no matter what, she would never leave him alone and will give him as much joy as she could!

After some time, they kept all the albums back and locked the room again. They moved downstairs and she went downstairs to make coffee for them. Kabir sat silently in the living room and felt relaxed. He felt this strange feeling. It was like as if she had taken all his pain away from him! He's lucky to have her in his life! He mocked himself for thinking that he could live without her because honestly he could never survive without her! He couldn't stay even a minute without her! She's his everything!

His mighty heart smirked at his stupid mind and said to Kabir in a matter of fact tone, "Even after misjudging her so many times, you didn't learn na? Why do you always mistrust her and think low of her? I think it's because you like to be proven wrong by her or you're really dumb Dr. Thapar! She's a gem of person! There can be no other person like her who'd be able to seize your pain away and give you only happiness in return. I really hope you learned your lesson because next time I'll shot you and your moronic mind! But hold on if I did that then where would I live? Seems like I'm extremely influenced by this crazy girl who has made me her biggest fan!"

He smiled at his crazy hearts' thoughts and lovingly looked at Anaisha, who was making coffee for them and some sandwiches as well. Though it was past dinner time but they haven't eaten anything so she made sandwiches. She arranged it on the dining table and called Kabir. She sat next to him and very lovingly fed him those sandwiches. He ate it and fed her as well.

When they were done with their meal, they moved upstairs to his balcony. It was their favourite place in his house because whenever they were there, they felt good. They were standing next to each other; Kabir hugged her from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder. He slowly whispered in her ears,"Do you know there's one more thing I want to tell you Anaisha. Should I tell you that?"

Anaisha, who felt a shiver ran down her spine, stuttered, "Y-yes! Tell, tell me Kabir!"

Kabir smiled seeing her reaction at his touch, asked to her in his husky voice, "Do you know whose photograph was there in that photo frame kept on my table in my cabin in the hospital? It's of... wait let me show you that!"

Saying so he went inside his room and came back with a photo frame in his hand. He passed it to Anaisha to see it.

Anaisha did want to know about that picture since that day only but never asked him to show it to her as she thought it was quite personal for him. But when he asked her if she wanted to see it, she couldn't help but say yes. After taking the frame from him, she gasped! It was her and Samyra together in that picture seating next to each other with adorable smiles on their faces.

She looked up at Kabir with a puzzled expression and asked in a confusedly, "Kabir this... me and Samyra? In this picture together? How? I never heard of Samyra before. Then this picture?"

Kabir held her by her shoulder delicately and answered calmly, "I know it's confusing for you but you and Samyra were friends. Infact the closest sort of friends. This picture was clicked when you were I guess five years old and Samyra was four. I found this picture really cute so kept it in my room and in my cabin in the hospital. Avi only gave me this picture.

"And what you said you never heard of Samyra before, it's maybe because when she passed away you were only six that time, really small to remember all this and then my family never talk about Samyra much because it brings back our painful memories. So that's why your parents too never told you about her I guess. I hope I cleared all of your doubts!"

Anaisha tried to speak something but Kabir shushed by keeping his finger on her lips. With his thumbs his traced her lips, making her heart do somersaults and butterflies to dance in her stomach. He pulled her close to himself and caressed her face his hand.

Anaisha closed her eyes in anticipation of his kiss as he leaned in but... But before they could go ahead with their kiss, Avi's call rudely brought them back into their senses. Perfect timing Aarav!

While blushing, Kabir attended his call. Avi asked nonchalantly, "Hey you didn't call me Kabir to pick Anaisha up, its 11 pm. Should come to pick her up now or you'll drop her home?"

But before Kabir could say anything, Anaisha snatched his phone out of his hand and requested her brother, "Bhai if you don't mind then can I please stay over here? Please! Please Bhai! We won't do anything like that, pakka promise! Please Bhai let me stay at Kabir's house today!"

At first Aarav refused her directly and said that he'll pick her up in 10 minutes but she made him agree with her sisterly blackmail. He then told Kabir in a joking yet threatful manner, "Though I'm letting my sister stay at your house but it would be better if you remain in your limits! You better be in your best behavior Kabir!" Kabir laughed at Aarav's threat but agreed.

After the call, they talked for a really long time sitting in his balcony and didn't know how many cups of coffee they drank! They talked about everything but his past, which Anaisha thought was better not to mention now. Kabir too was delighted with her for not talking about his past. It was around dawn, when he noticed that she had dozed off. He picked her up and made her lie on his bed. He was about to move towards his recliner when he felt her holding on to his hand.

He turned back to look at her, who was looking at him with love and adoration in her eyes. She shook in her side ways, indicating a no when he said that he'll sleep on the recliner. She got up from the bed and said holding his hand, "I trust you Kabir! I know you won't do anything with me of that sort. So please you can sleep on the bed with me."

She then made him lie next to her after a lot of resistance from him and kept her head on his chest, drifting into sleep soon after. Kabir smiled a big smile and too drifted into a peaceful sleep!

Anaisha woke up before him and saw him sleeping with a sweet smile playing on his lips. He looked relax and calm. She wished he always stayed like this. She slowly moved out of the bed, careful enough to not disturb his sleep and freshened up. She first thought to wake him up but then decided to make breakfast for him and then wake him up.

She made Aloo Paranthe for him, his favourite dish for breakfast! She merrily arranged everything on a tray and went upstairs to his room. She kept the tray on the side table and sat beside him, shaking him slowly to wake him. He moved a little but then again slipped into slumber.

She shook him again and this time, all of a sudden he pulled her towards himself. She being shocked didn't know what to do and ended up falling on him. He felt something fall on him suddenly and jerked out of his sleep and saw her lying on his chest.

She saw him open his eyes and said sighing, "Good morning Kabir! Finally you're awake!"

If every morning, he got a chance to wake up to seeing her face then every morning will be good for him. He sheepishly grinned to himself.

"Good morning baby," he said lazily and gave her a peck on her forehead. He sat up and helped her sit on the bed. But then they both noticed that her T-shirt got drenched with the juice she brought for him. Oh no! Why it was always her with whom these tragedies happened? Anaisha mentally groaned.

Kabir seeing her huffed expressions, got up from the bed and moved towards his closet. He picked out a grey coloured pullover for her and told her to change her tee. She came out of the washroom after changing her tee. His pullover smelled of him and she loved it.

Kabir freshened up and then they both had breakfast. Anaisha had already informed Aarav that she and Kabir won't be able to attend hospital today; Aarav told her that he'll manage everything.

After a while Kabir dropped her home and went back to his home, smiling! Finally he let the burden off his chest and felt free! He smiled to himself and turned the radio on, on the song 'Tum Hi Ho' was playing and he for the first time hummed a bollywood song! Well love surely changes people!

Anaisha after sipping her coffee went to take shower and then rested for a while. She felt nice for the fact that Kabir had so much trust in her! Her respect and love for him had increased 10 folds! She felt pride in her love! He really was her prince charming! He wasn't exactly like the prince charming she always dreamt of rather there was more to him, which made him even better! She truly loves him! And only him!

Kabir felt lighter after opening up about his troubled life to Anaisha. All his fears went away after the way Anaisha handled him. He was madly in love with her!

He had lost his share of people Anaisha, now he didn't want to lose. He wished her to be with him for the rest of his life and never leave him alone. He really needed her to in his life because she was the one who could really bring him out of the dark abyss of his past and be his light to a better life.

Honestly he was finally ready to let go of his past and embrace his future with her. He won't ever let her go away from him, at any cost. He was hers completely. Only hers!

Sure they were closer and much more in love with each other. But there was a thought going on in Anaisha's head which would surely make her do something, which Kabir may or may not like.
