Chapter 3: A Release of Anger and Healing
Alexandria got up about 12 minutes after breaking down. She was pissed off at Jay for him saying anything about Douglas. Jay felt bad for what he said and just wanted to forget anything happened. Jay walked up to her so he could apologize, but she interrupted.
"Alex I'm so-," he tried to say.
"I want some time to be alone. You're welcome to walk around if you want. Don't die. Meet me back here before sundown. I'll be fine don't you dare think that I'll die out there. See you soon," she explained.
Alexandria then walked down the stairs of the sign to the edge of the building. There was a ladder on the edge of it, so she slid down it then back flipped off of it. Jay just stared as she made her exit. He was in disbelief that she just cut him off from his sentence.
*sigh* "She always does this," he said to himself.
He already knew what Alexandria does when she gets mad. Jay was waiting to hear it once the time was right. He knew that she'd be okay. After all, she did watch "the best" fire off some bullets before.
Alexandria was running away from where Jay was. She came upon a small group of zombies and pulled out her knife and pistol. There was about 6 of them wandering the ally way. She hid behind a wall as she waited for them to pass. Alexandria didn't like just killing them without them knowing, she liked putting some fun in to it.
She fired one bullet in to the wall next to them, so she could get their attention. The hoard turned around noticing her and went over to her. Alexandria ran up to them and fought them off using Doug's fighting style. She put a bullet in to one of zombies heads as she sliced off another. She kept doing this until all of them we're down.
Off in the distance Jay was still at the sign. He was going through his backpack seeing what supplies he had left. While looking he heard a sudden gun shot. Startled, he packed up his stuff and ran towards the sound. He wanted Alexandria to be okay. Constant gunshots kept going off as Jay ran towards the sound. Once he got to an ally, he slowed down just in case anything was there.
Alexandria finished off the final zombie and put away her gun. She then saw a slow shadowy figure thinking it was a zombie. Knife still in her hand she his behind a wall and waited til it got close enough.
Jay was waking up to where there was a turn in the ally. He heard something and walked up to one of the walls. Alexandria swung the knife at him, but luckily he grabbed her arm before she cut him open. Her eyes were wide open startled to see Jay.
"Damn it Jay, you scared the hell out of me!" She exclaimed.
"Could say the same with a knife so close to my face," he joked.
She couldn't help but smile at what he said. She put the knife back in her pack and walked with Jay.
"Hey, I'm sorry I said that" he said.
"It's alright, I'm fine now" she replied.
"How'd you find me so easy?" She asked.
"Your gun. I know you shoot down zombies if your pissed. I got worried for you, so I wanted to see you." He explained.
"Well that's sweet," she smiled.
They stopped and she kissed him on the cheek. Once she did, Jay looked at her surprised that she did that. She looked straight ahead with a faint smile on he face.
"C'mon, we have some killing to do" she joked as she ran up ahead.
Jay was just staring at he running up ahead as he was still stunned from the moment. He then snapped out of it and caught up to her. They both took out their gun as they ran towards the street. Smoke was in the air as wrecked cars and broken glass from shops were around them. This was the one place they knew zombies would be swarming.
Standing back to back, they shot down any one of them they could see. Alexandria got scratched by one of them and fell to the floor. Jay turned around and shot it in the face. He grabbed her gun and put it in his pocket as well as his. Jay then picked up Alexandria and headed toward the ally where there weren't any zombies.
"Alex are you-" he looked at the arm of her leather jacket and examined it.
"Take off your jacket and let me see your arm," he demanded.
She did so and there wasn't a scratch. There was a tear in her jacket due to the zombie, but she was lucky enough to avoid it reaching beneath her skin. Alexandria stood up and put her jacket back on.
"I'm fine, nothing got into my system as you can see" she reasoned.
"That's relief, but plz be more careful. I don't want to lose you" he said with a worried expression.
She just looked at him surprised at his words. Alexandria did think he'd ever get to hear that from him.
"Let's go, I don't want you getting hurt" he smiled.
Alexandria nodded and they both left. She was still thinking of what Jay said to her. She had a faint smile on her face as she treasured those words from him...
