The sound of crying and screaming woke up the family of Shay. They came running into the five year olds room, watching in horror as tears began to stream down their daughters face. "It hurts!" She screamed, though it was fairly week. Her skin was bright red and swollen, and her blue eyes glazed over.
         Fanti picked up his daughter, cradling her close, feeling her body in a high fever. "Start up the car. Now!" He ordered his wife, and she ran towards the car, grabbing her keys and unlocking the doors. The neighbors grew hasty as her feeble screams woke them up. Fanti watched as Barbra opened the doors, and he quickly got inside, holding Shay in his lap. Sirens went off and they drove quickly threw ongoing traffic.
        Shay's cries were becoming less and less wailing and more like gasps. When they reached the hospital, her breathing laboring terrible, sweat coming pouring out of her pores. Fanti gripped onto her little hand tightly. When they reached the hospital, a nurse came running out, looking at them startled. She escorted them quickly into a room and once inside, they began putting an inhaler on her face, but her breathing did not get any better, and they decided there was no hope for the child.
        Fanti stood beside Shay's bed, tears going down his face, gripping on tightly to her. "Shay please don't go!" He cried, placing his head on her stomach. 
        The sounds of a faltering beep began to fill her ears, and he turned his head to look at her. The difference between words was that she said Daddy and Mommy and the other words she heard where Ark. "I... love you.." Shay cried and closed her eyes, and soon found herself feeling no longer pain, and was gazing up at total darkness.
