Chapter 6
"I want to go find my father." Kaze tated. He stood in front of the Zora King with Sidon next to him.
"Do you know who your father is?" The Zora King asked.
"Um, not really. I just know he was one of the pilots for the Divine Beasts. Guessing it's whatever this was." Kaze said, pointing at the bird on his father's scarf. "And that he also was the best archer in the land."
"Hmm, well, he must be from Rito Village." The King said.
"What village?" Kaze asked.
"Rito Village. It is a village by the snowy Herbra Mountains. The champion there wore a scarf just like the one you wear now." The King explained.
"That's a far off place for someone like you to go alone." Muzu said.
"Oh..." Kaze frowned, looking down, but he was determined to go find his father.
"We can come with you."
Kaze looked over and saw Mipha and Link walking into the throne room.
"We need to leave to help the other Champions free their divine beasts so you can come along." Mipha said, kneeling down to him. "Soon, we will make it to Rito Village so you can meet your father."
"Woohoo!" Kaze exclaimed and jumped.
"Father, can I go too?" Sidon asked.
"Sidon-"
"Kaze is my best friend. Even if there was the big law, we still had fun together. I-I can take care of myself, and I won't be alone." Sidon explained, interrupting his father.
"Hmmm...." The Zora King thought.
"Are you sure you want to come with us, Sidon?" Mipha asked, looking over to her little brother.
"Mhmm!"
"Don't worry, I'll protect him." Kaze said with a proud smile.
"Or, I'll have to protect you." Sidon chuckled.
The two boys laughed. The King then smiled at their friendship.
"Sidon."
The two boys then stopped laughing and looked up at the Zora King.
"You may go, but you must listen to everything your sister says."
Sidon gasped and smiled.
"Thank you, father." Sidon said.
"Alright! But uh... where should we go first?" Kaze asked.
"The closest Divine Beast is Vah Rudania, the divine beast of the gorons. They live in the Eldin Mountains region and on Death Mountain." The King explained. "To even go up there, you all need something to resist the heat."
"Oh! Oh! I know how to make fireproof elixirs! Me and my mother used to elixirs like that all the time." Kaze beamed. "I just need a few ingredients and I can make them."
"Very well, Kaze. You and Sidon can go make the recipes. Muzu, keep an eye on them and get them anything they need." The King said.
"Yes, your majesty." Muzu said and walked off with Kaze and Sidon.
"Link, I want you to make sure to watch over the two boys on your journey. Out there, they can be in harms way." The King said.
Link nodded.
"Mipha, I want you to protect Kaze and Sidon too, but you must promise me to come home safe and sound."
"Yes, Father." Mipha smiled.
--
"Now, you stir this and... there!" Kaze said he sat by a cooking pot with Sidon by his side.
"Wow, so you and your mom used to make things like these all the time?" Sidon asked.
"Yeah. She either sells them at the village the closest to our house, or she used them to help people. She's like a doctor. Well, was...." Kaze frowned at the thought his mother. He sure did miss her.
"Don't worry, Kaze." Sidon said. "We'll help the gorons, head to Rito Village, find your dad, and then find your mom! Don't forget that you and I are the ultimate team! Besides, we'll have my sister and Link to help us."
"Yeah. That is true." Kaze smiled. "Thanks, Sidon. You always make me feel better."
Sidon then did his award winning smile.
Kaze chuckled, but he thought for a moment.
"If we are heading over to help Vah Rudania, do you think that Champion may know about my dad?" Kaze asked.
"Hmmm...I think so. If Mipha knew him, I'm sure that Champion does too."
"Awesome! It's just another piece to the puzzle."
"Puzzle?"
Kaze then looked at Sidon.
"Yeah. A puzzle is made of different pieces. When all the pieces are put together, they make a picture. In this case, it's finding out who my dad is."
"Oh! Now I get it!"
The two boys laughed.
"What are you two laughing about? You know you need to get those elixirs done." Muzu piped out.
"Yes Muzu..." The two boys frowned even though they are done.
"Muzu, it's alright. They are friends. Let them have fun." Mipha said and walked over to them with Link.
"Hi guys! The elixirs are all done!" Kaze smiled.
"Good job. I'm very proud of you two for getting them done so fast."
"Well, we couldn't help it. We're just so excited!" Sidon exclaimed with a big smile.
Mipha chuckled and Link rubbed the back of his neck.
"Save that excitement for tomorrow morning. That's when you are leaving." Muzu said and walked over to them.
"What?!" The two boys exclaimed.
"Do you really think you're going out when it's almost night time? You'll get attacked." Muzu remarked.
"Aww...."
Then, Sidon had an idea.
"It's alright, Kaze. This just means we can have a sleepover!" Sidon smiled. Kaze immediately smiled at that.
"Sleepover!" Kaze exclaimed with a big smile.
"Sleepover?" Muzu asked
"Sleepover!" The two boys exclaimed with big smiled.
Mipha and Link chuckled at the two.
--
Later that evening, the sun had gone down. In Sidon's room, Sidon and Kaze played with some toys and were having so much fun. They always wanted to have a sleepover before, but with the law, they could not have one. Mipha then opened the door, and she looked over at the boys.
"Sidon, Kaze, it's time to go to bed." Mipha said, softly.
"Aww... but we were having fun." Sidon frowned.
"I guess you don't want a lullaby then."
Sidon then immediately laid down in his bed. Kaze looked confused at that, but then thought a lullaby would be nice. He then laid down on a spare bed which was next to Sidon's.
"I knew that would get you to lay down." Mipha said. She then sat by Sidon on his bed.
Kaze was looking at Mipha, confused. Sidon then noticed his confused look.
"Mipha's lullabies are always the best, Kaze." Sidon smiled.
"I'll be the judge of that." Kaze smirked
"Oh? Then I'll be sure to sing a good one." Mipha said.
The two boys giggled and then got comfy.
Mipha then started to sing a lullaby with her very soft voice. It was so very lovely. About a verse or two in, Sidon went to sleep. Kaze was still awake because he knew this lullaby. It was his mom sang him when he was younger. When the lullaby was done, Mipha kissed Sidon's head.
"Good night, Sidon." Mipha whispered with a smile.
"Mipha? Where did you hear that lullaby?" Kaze asked.
"My mother used to sing it to me when I was very young. Why do you ask?"
"My mom used to sing it to me too."
Mipha gasped quietly, but then she smiled.
"I actually taught it to your mother when she was pregnant with you. It was meant to not only calm you down, but to also help your mother relax. It would always work." Mipha whispered.
"Really?" Kaze asked.
Mipha then nodded, but then she heard Kaze sniff. He was starting to cry. Mipha then went over, and sat next to him.
"What's the matter, Kaze?" Mipha asked and wiped a tear away.
"I miss my mom." Kaze whimpered.
"Oh, Kaze..."
Mipha then hugged Kaze. He hugged back, crying a bit more.
"It's alright. I know she is very strong. She is out there, and she loves you very much. You need to look for her, and I'm sure your father is looking too."
Kaze pulled away and looked up at Mipha.
"Y-You think so? You think dad still cares about her?" Kaze asked as he wiped his own tears.
Mipha nodded and cupped his cheek.
"Of course. Your father loved your mother before the law, and I know he still loves her even when they are apart." Mipha said as she put a hand on her heart. If she still loves Link after ten years, then she knows they still love each other.
Kaze smiled.
"Thanks Mipha." Kaze said.
"Now, you should go to sleep. Tomorrow is a big day." Mipha smiled and rubbed Kaze's head. She then got up and walked over to the door. She looked back at Kaze, who was looking at her.
"Good night, Mipha." Kaze said and then laid down.
"Good night, Kaze." Mipha smiled and then blew out the candle that was lighting up the room.
She then walked out of the room. When she did, Kaze smiled and went to sleep.
He knew his father and mother were out there, and he was gonna go find them.
