Walking into the flat, I immediately knew that Margot had definitely not woken up yet. If she had, there would be music playing and the sound of a blender accompanying it, along with her pitch perfect voice creating lyrics to the song to describe exactly what she was doing.
That was an almost every morning routine for her.
I studied the room and saw clothes sprawled along it, slowly leading to the door of her room. Rolling my eyes, I purposely shut the front door loudly, with a bang.
That should let her know I'm here.
As soon as I did, I regretted it because it made my head pound, even with the medication taking some of the pressure away, but I knew that I had it a lot easier than Margot because the sound of someone falling and screams are what greeted me in reply.
"Before leaving the room, please make sure you have an article of clothing on your body and all of your personal belongings." I sang and the door flew open, revealing Margot standing, her hair looking like that of a bird's nest, but somehow she still seemed to look absolutely gorgeous.
"What time is it?" She groaned, stretching her arms above her and I guffawed at the marks up her neck as she did.
"Someone had a fun night." I commented, looking pointedly at the hickies dotting her skin and she looked like a deer caught in headlights as she ran to the bathroom, her hand flying over them.
The door to her bedroom opened again and a vaguely familiar guy walked out, grinning awkwardly at me, "Hey, Liana." He greeted and I waved back hesitantly, "Hiya, Andy."
He scratched the back of his head looking around and I tried not to glance at his bare chest as he did, but I couldn't help it and I cursed Margot in my head at how lucky she was - the guy certainly went to the gym every week.
Though, he wasn't as buff as that other guy... or coffee shop guy.
Wait, why was I thinking about him? Liana control your mind.
"I just need to eh, grab my clothes." He mumbled, walking into the living room and bending down, picking up the different articles of clothing and that's when I realized he was just in boxers and I quickly turned away, shielding my eyes.
"Margot's just in the bathroom." I informed him. He doesn't reply which makes me frown, "Do you want breakfast or a shower or anything?" I asked.
"Nah, I'm okay. Thank you. I better get going anyway." I turned back around and amazingly he'd already tied his shoelaces, ready to go. "Thanks for letting me stay here last night." He quickly got up, before heading to the door and I shook my head bewildered.
Should I get Margot?
Just as I thought it, she came out of the bathroom, grumbling. "Seriously, do all guys have to be so primal and just attack your-" She froze when she saw Andy watching her, as well as me, and her face lit up like a tomato. "Oh ugh... hey, Andy." She cautiously offered.
"Listen, I'm just gonna head out, I've got Uni work to do and stuff."
The amount of tension in the room, couldn't have been any more intense and I backed away slightly - this had nothing to do with me.
"Okay, yeah, sure thing." She shrugged and he opened the door.
"Thanks for last night it was... fun." He decided and I noticed her face get even darker, what the hell happened? "See ya Liana." He nodded and then looked at Margot with a torn expression, "Bye, Margot."
He's out the door in the blink of an eye and I turned to her with an accusing stare, my arms folded, waiting for her to speak up.
"Can we talk about it later? I need to get ready for the gym." She grumbled and I shrugged, I was not going to force her to tell me if she wasn't ready and so we set off getting ready to try and work off the hangover.
.
"I feel like I'm going to die." I groaned in protest as Margot pulled my arms and she chuckled at my comment, "I do! My head is going to crack, I swear. I should not have drank that much last night."
Margot and I sat sitting on the floor of the gym, our legs stretched to each other as we pulled one anothers bodies, stretching out the limbs we had just warmed up by jogging. The gym wasn't too busy - mid week days off meant that not a lot of other people had it off so anything we did wasn't too crowded or over populated.
"Well, you didn't have any tequila which is the only positive of this." I glare at her and she giggled with a wink in response. "Now, come on, get up - we're gonna do some lunges and squats."
I protested but stood up anyway, the sweat still dripping from my skin but I was happy to see that hers was doing the same.
"Right, so just easy - twenty of each and then we can take a water break, okay?" She offered and I nodded eagerly, "Right, three, two, one, lets go."
We started the exercise and after a moment, consisting of three lunges, I found it the perfect time to ask about the previous night.
"So, did you have fun last night?" I heard her sigh and immediately knew that whatever she's about to tell me is either going to be really bad, or really funny. "Come on, it couldn't of been that bad."
Halfway there, I motivated myself to keep going with the lunges while I waited for her reply, my breathing labored.
"Well, you certainly had fun with Derek." She commented and I groaned, due to the pain in my legs, and the embarrassment that washed over me. "It's okay, he was hot, plus you didn't do anything with him that I didn't do with Andy."
"That's true." I agreed and glanced at her slyly, "So... what did you do with Andy?" I asked. She rolled her eyes, muttering under her breath.
"Yes, we had sex." She stated.
"That was pretty obvious." I answered. "Okay, squats now." We quickly changed position, standing facing each other as our bodies began to rise and fall in rhythm.
"What do you mean it was obvious?" She frowned and I looked at her like she was an idiot.
"There's a reason I didn't come home last night, that and the clothes splayed across our apartment when I walked in." She blushed and looked away from me, and around the gym. I noticed a few looks our way from a few guys, which was probably due to the fact that we were in yoga pants and doing squats - especially Margot, she was stunning as she did them - but we both ignored them - this was not the time to flirt with muscular men. "Okay, so you had sex - what's the issue?" I urged and she bit her lip.
"There's no issue, the sex was great." She informed me and I nodded, wincing against the pain in my legs. "Just five left come on, Lia." She encouraged and I shot her a thumbs up, working through the burning. "And I think I actually kind of like him." She answered which gives me a little shock - sure it wasn't unusual for Margot to have a guy at our apartment every once in a while but it was unusual for her to say she actually liked them past one night.
"So, what's the issue?" I managed to force out just as we finish our last squat and the relief that passed through me was immediate. "Water break." I half demanded and she agreed as we walked to the bench where our stuff sat.
"Well, everything was great." She started, looking around nervously, "And you know we were going at it and I was on top, " She glanced behind her nervously, and moved forward, her voice dropping even lower, "And then he flips me onto my stomach which you know I'm all for." I nodded in reply, it was true - from the amount of times that she'd told me her about sex life, it was clear what her preferences were. I took a swig of my water, listening close.
"And well, you know I was drunk and I don't know what happened but one minute everything was fine and I, you know finished, and the next..." She darted her eyes around one more time before leaning in even closer and I continued to drink my water, trying to look casual to the people around us, "And then, oh my god Liana this is so embarrassing - for fuck sake Liana, I fucking farted while he was still behind me!"
The water sprayed out of my mouth like a fountain and I sputtered, trying not to choke on the bits that flew down my throat and once I was sure that I wasn't about to die, the eruption of laughter began and I had to hold onto my stomach to stop myself from keeling over.
"Liana! You sprayed me with water you bitch!" She squealed and this just made me laugh more as I looked up at her through my tears to see her top even more pressed against her body than it used to be, "And stop laughing!" She demanded, looking around embarrassed but I couldn't.
"Y-you f-f-farted?" I spluttered and she growled, shoving me and I stumbled a few steps but continued laughing.
"Liana." She hissed and I managed to straighten myself up and stop laughing but when I looked at her it started to bubble again and as she stared back at me, I watched her mouth twitch in reply and then before I knew it, we'd began laughing. "I can't believe this." She snickered and I shook my head, the tears still falling down my face.
"You farted in his face!" I howled and she screamed a protest before flinging water at me. I cried in response, straightening up and slinging some back at her.
"Shut up!" She ordered, hurling more water at me and I tossed it right back at her, making us both giggle, "I can't believe you're laughing at this!" She screeched but the grin on her face mirrored my own.
"This is hilarious though, it's definitely a classic, if I ever get a book published it's going in!" I informed her and she groaned, spraying me with water again and I did it back in return.
"Now, I know I've just moved here, but even I know that it's not normal to have a water fight in a gym."
I freeze, no fucking way.
Margot looked behind me and her eyes widened in surprise. I see them trail up and down the figure behind me before she looked at me, wiggling her eyebrows and I knew exactly who it was.
I turned and faced the person and the breath got knocked out of me, "You have got to be kidding me." I stated, glaring at the man whose face was one of complete shock and surprise.
"Holy shit, Peanut!" He grinned and I rose an eyebrow at him, "I didn't even know that was you, damn you look different in that outfit." He expressed and I rolled my eyes as he scanned up and down my body, lingering on my chest. I wasn't wearing anything special - just workout clothes consisting of yoga pants, a sports bra, a tank top and trainers - though, I suppose, they made a change from the jeans and t-shirt I wore to work.
"My eyes are up here, Sherlock." I spat and he quickly darted them back to my face, an embarrassed grimace coating his features before it turned into one of amusement and slight confusion.
"Sherlock?" He asked, as I rolled my eyes.
"I'd tell you, but I'd have to kill you." I stated referring to yesterday, "It's from Sherlock." I informed him and he looked at me surprised and nodded before chuckling.
"Pretty sure it's actually the doctor that says it, though." He argued and my mouth drops open in shock as I freeze, what? Did he just-
"How do you know that?" I asked and he shrugged, "Lucky guess?" He retorted making me frown, I was about to speak but someone cut me off before I could.
"Hi I'm Margot." I jumped back slightly, making way for Margot to stick her hand forward, offering it to the man, "I'm the best friend of 'Peanut'." She snickered, smirking at me and I glared at her.
"Margot this is... some guy that comes into the coffee shop." I stated, glaring at him and he placed a hand over his heart while taking Margot's outstretched one with his other.
"Ouch, Peanut you wound me, I thought we had something!" I rolled my eyes while he turned on his charming smile, giving Margot his full attention, "Margot, what a beautiful name. My name is Landon." He told her, bending and kissing her hand and my heart jumped as she blushed, giggling.
Landon... it was an attractive name but I frowned, he didn't really seem like a 'Landon' I expected something more interesting from him.
"Well I'm just going to the ladies room for a moment, so if you'll excuse me." She walked past me, giving a subtle wink as she did.
"Something wrong buttercup?" Landon asked and I scrutinized him.
"Are you sure your name is Landon?" I asked. He looked at me in suspicion.
"Yeah, pretty sure... why?" He stepped closer and my lungs spasmed, as I could see that the sweat was clinging to him, showing his defined muscles underneath the sports top that he's wearing.
"I - uh," I sputtered and he smirked, "You just don't seem like a Landon?" He looked at me in slight surprise before taking another step forward and my breath caught which I'm sure he noticed because he glanced down at my mouth, but I stood my ground, determined not to take a step back.
"And what do I seem like then?" He murmured and I start to feel the heat coming off of his body and hitting my own, making tingles all the way down my spin and to my lower abdominal.
I swallowed loudly.
"Kind of an asshole."
As soon as I said it, he stopped moving closer and his eyebrows shot up into his hairline, the shock evident on that handsome face of his.
After a moment of silence he burst out laughing, taking a step back and I let out a huge sigh of relief, the tension leaving me body as I patted myself on the back mentally for not giving into the pressure that his gaze gives me.
"Also, a stalker because this is the third day in a row that I have seen you."
"You are something else, aren't you Peanut?" He chuckled causing me to frown.
"Why do you call me Peanut?" I asked him and he stopped, frowning for a moment before smirking again.
"Hey! Are we going to get on with our workout?" Margot reappeared and a relieved expression crossed Landon's face as he stepped away from us.
"Please, don't let me stop you." He grinned, motioning for us to continue, "I need to get on with mine anyway so I'll leave you be." He turned to walk away before quickly turning back and winking at me. "See you later, Peanut. I'll try not to stalk you but I can't make any promises." His teasing tone made my heartbeat increase and blood flow to areas which made me blush.
He walked away and I watched as his muscular back tensed and moved with each step until he stopped at the weight section, setting it up for a workout.
"So... going to tell me how you know Captain America over there?" She asked.
"Like I said, I served him at the Coffee shop... and Captain America, really?" I questioned with a frown, watching him and she shrugged.
"I mean, yeah, look at that physique, plus he has the blondish hair and the southern accent." She explained and I watched him as she said this, realizing that she's kind of right.
"Yeah... that's true." I trailed off as I watched him reach for the end of his shirt and my heart flew into my throat. "Oh my god." I whispered as his fingers slowly inched towards the material and then he turned and looked at me and I swore I gave myself whiplash from how fast I turned my head and body, my cheeks feeling like flames as colour spread through me.
"What's wrong?" Margot asked, about to turn around but I grabbed her and made her stay facing the front.
"I think he took off his shirt and I was totally staring while waiting and he saw me." I whispered and her eyes widened as she subtly tried to look over her shoulder. "Margot!" I scolded and she looked at me innocently.
"What? Just because you don't want to look, doesn't mean I don't." She stated and I rolled my eyes.
"It's not that I don't want to look, it's that he doesn't need to get anymore cocky, he's already bad enough as it is and you ogling him will not help at all." I sighed, "Plus, I really need to work out and if I see his torso, I think my legs will turn to jelly." I admitted and she stopped trying to turn around and thought for a moment.
"Yeah, that's a really good point, lets not turn around." She agreed and we both nodded, determined not to look back at Landon, who no doubt was working hard enough to make his muscles ripple and his skin gleam with sweat.
"Stop thinking about it." Margot snapped, shoving my arm and I blinked, shaking my head.
"I wasn't." I defended.
"Yeah right, I notice that look anywhere, just keep your mind focused on the workout, you don't want him to know you're ogling him." She repeated back to me and I groaned. "Anyway, he didn't even take his shirt off so there's really nothing to see."
I began to turn around to confirm whether she was telling the truth or not but her hand shot out and stopped me with a smug expression coating her face. "No looking."
This was going to be so difficult.
I hate the gym.
