Dai's POV.

"Rin, stop stressing already. Jesus Christ, I'll throw a fucking book at you." I told him, shoving my stuff into a backpack.

"I know, I just-what if they don't remember me?" He muttered.

We were packing up our stuff in Australia, ready to fly home the next day.

"I just got a text from haru literally saying that he's excited to see us again. You're not gonna pull the "ignore them till they go away" shit like you have every time you've been home are you?"

"I don't know, I was planning to."

"I will kick the shit out of you."

"Boys! I have lemonade!" Called Lori and we sprinted downstairs.

"Thanks Lori!" I said, grabbing a glass and chugging it down.

"I'm not looking forwards to the jetlag tomorrow." Rin groaned, shoving his face into my shoulder.

"Me neither but fuck it. Remind me again why you chose Samezuka rather than Iwatobi high?" I asked.

"Swim team. Fresh start. Not having to live at home. Usual stuff. You can always go to Iwatobi on your own" he shrugged.

"I'd really rather not. Come on, packing." I said, dragging him back upstairs.

The next morning, we woke up at five am and started dragging our suitcases downstairs.

"Ahhhh, fuck these weigh a ton."

"Come on, bitch princess. We've gotta get there in time to watch the skating." Rin said, shoving bags in the back of the taxi.

"Ooooh someone has a hard one for Viktor Nikiforov!" I teased.

"No, id just like to see Daniel Hughes and his new shit." He told me.

"Mmmmhm okay"I said, getting into the taxi.

We got the the airport and checked in, leaving our bags and going to find breakfast.

"I can't wait to get home and eat everything. I mean, Katsudon and Sushi and Rice balls!" I moaned, grabbing a coffee.

"Shit yeah!" He laughed.

We both boarded the plane and I fell asleep on his shoulder, only waking to turbulence.

"How long have we got?" I questioned.

"Ten hours. Go back to sleep" Rin told me.

We landed soon and got a taxi straight to Samezuka.

"Shit, we're in different rooms. Bollocks to it all" I exclaimed.

"Well it's not like we are gonna spend any time apart anyway, clingy little bitch."

"Well, this is where I leave you. Enjoy sharing with someone equally as annoying and shitty as me." I told him, walking down the corridor and dragging my bags.

I found the dorm room I would be staying in and pushed open the door, staring at the person sitting in the bottom bunk.

"Uh, hey?" I questioned.

"Hi. I'm Nitori!" He sang. (Yes I know shut up).

"I'm Dai. Uh, nice to meet you?"

"You too! I was just about to go to the pool, want to come?"

"Yeah sure. Hold up" I said, changing quickly and running after Nitori.

We swam for a while, before eating quickly by the side of the pool And going back in the water.

"Alright swimmers, im Seijuuro Mikoshiba and im the Swim captain. Tryouts are from now. Get swimming." Said a tall ginger dude, walking into the pool and throwing himself down in a plastic chair.

I lined up and launched myself into the pool after someone had left it, flying through the water before turning and coming back, climbing out and grabbing a towel.

"Fuck you, Dai. We all know you're in." Rin scolded, laughing.

"Yeah and you. Fucker. Oh, Iwatobi invited us to practice with them tonight!"

"Not a chance in hell." He stated.

"Fine, suit yourself. I'll go alone then"

The evening came and we left the pool and I caught a train to Iwatobi school.

"Nice pool!" I shouted, walking out to the poolside and dumping my bag on a chair. Nagisa ran at me and hugged me tightly, Makoto pulling himself out of the pool with haru.

"Dai! Finally!" Nagisa shouted.

"Hi!" Makoto said calmly.

"Hmm, new guy. You must be Rei Ryugazaki" I said, shaking his hand.

He nodded and we all got in the pool quickly.

"Whoa, Dai, you're so fast! Where did you learn to swim like that?" Makoto asked.

"Australia and in the sea. I had this thing where I would swim as fast as I could in the pool, then I would try to beat that speed in the sea against the current. Gets you going"

"Holy crap that's a good idea!" Nagisa exclaimed.

I noticed a tall, dark haired boy running towards us in Samezuka uniform, and I kept staring until he was standing in front of me.

"Akihito, its Matsuoka. He needs you." The boy said and I grabbed my bag, waving goodbye to the boys and running after the boy.

"I'm Sousuke, Rins dorm mate." Said the tall boy, dragging me away quickly towards Samezuka.

We arrived and I sprinted up to his dorm, storming in and examining the scene in front of me. Rin was crying in bed and curled up around his pillow, sobbing silently.

"Rin? What happened?" I asked, walking close to the bed and he yanked me down, replacing his pillow with me and curling into my chest, crying aggressively into my shirt. I petted his hair softly as he wore himself out, eventually falling asleep with his legs tangled between mine.

"Sousuke," I whispered. "Is it okay if I stay here with him tonight?"

"Yeah go ahead"

I fell asleep with the boy on my chest and woke up, snuggled against him and sweating.

"Rin. Wake up" I told him and he started stirring against my shirt.

"Fuck, I'm sorry for keeping you here dude" he muttered.

"No problem, man. I'm going back to my own room"

"Alright. See you in the pool"

I climbed out of bed and ran back to my own bedroom, climbing to my bunk and collapsing into it, falling asleep instantly.

"Dai! Wake up!" Nitori shouted in my ear.

"Nitori I will smack you" I threatened.

"Sorry. Look, we've got a meeting about the relay team" he explained. I groaned loudly and shoved my face into my pillow.
