Amethyst is a young Night Wing that does not live on the Night Wing island. When she was born, a group of Rain Wings found her abandoned, yet safe from danger in a den of leaves and rocks.

"Who would leave a dragon egg randomly?"said the first Rain Wing named Starfruit.

"Rain Wings," said the other, another female Rain Wing, named Opal, with blue, green (more like aquamarine), periwinkle, and magenta scales, "we, as a tribe, aren't very responsible for our children."

"She has a point," said Opal's brother named Durian, which is the name of a spikey, smelly fruit with an acquired taste.

"Why don't we look for its parents," Starfruit suggested.

"Sure," Opal said, "but how are we going to find the parents, they could be any-" But before she even finished her sentence the egg cracked and out came a baby dragonet.

Her scales were purple, black, and blue (like the color of the ocean). She was definitely part Night Wing but she was also something else. She craned her head to look up at the adult dragons and said,"What?"

"Hi there, little one!" Starfruit said.
The little dragon tried to reach for Opal's head and cried when she wasn't able to. "Up!"she cried, "I wanna hug!"

Starfruit picked her up and cradeled her affectionately and said, "Can we keep her?"
"No,"said Durian, "there might be a mother out there looking for her."

"Then we must find her mother," Opal said, "and if we don't I guess that means we must take care of her."

They flew around the rain forest carrying the child with them yelling "Hello, did anyone lose a daughter we found her!?"

After hours of searching they decided to go to the Night Wing Village in the rain forest and ask if anyone was missing a daughter.

At the village they found Moonwatcher talking to Hope and asked both of them if they knew anyone who was missing a child.

"Well, I'm not missing anyone,"Hope said then picked up her son, Peacemaker, "my child is right here!"

"And I'm sorry,"said Moonwatcher, "I can't be her mother, I'm too young to be a mom, and even if I was, this dragonet also looks part Sea Wing, and I am not in love with any Sea Wings."

"Okay," said Starfruit, "thanks for the help."

They split up and asked dragons if the little dragonet belonged to them and they did not get much luck. None of the Night Wings had a husband or a wife who was a Sea Wing, so they could not be her parents.

The dragonet also did not like Durian as much as she liked Opal and Starfruit. It was also really cute how when she laughed the scales on her face and along her neck and tail would glow. She also had three pearl sized silver tear drop shaped scales on either side of her face, by her eyes.
Which ment she had powers, but Starfruit, Opal, and Durian did not know, yet, exactly what those powers were.

After two days, they never found her mother.
"Well what now?" Starfruit asked.
"We take care of her remember," said Opal.
"What should we name her?" Durian asked.
"Faith?"suggested Starfruit.
"Nah, it doesn't fit," he said.
"How about Indigo,"Starfruit said.
"Nope," Opal said, "I think, that is also the name of a crop."
It took awhile for them to come up with a good name when Opal said, "I've got it! Her name can be Amethyst!!!!!"
"That is the most wonderful name!" exclaimed Starfruit.
"Agreed!" Durian declared, " it is a perfect name!"

Opal and Starfruit both turned to the dragonet and said, "Do you like that name?"

"Yeths!" She said, "I mean yes."

"Amethyst it is!!!!" They all declared.
