During my last vacation, I went hiking to the Everest base camp. I had just left Gorak Shep, the last town before Basecamp, when a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal and the mountains started to rumble. If that wasn't bad enough, the very tail end of the avalanche crashed past me. If had been a little further down, I would have got the full force of the avalanche and have been killed instantly.
