Carly Origin #3
Today started like every other day. I woke up, brushed my teeth, got dressed in my usual white sweater, orange sneakers etc and went downstairs. Ever since my mom passed away due to an illness one year ago, our family hasn't been the same.
We still have fun hanging around friends and doing other stuff. It's just that we are constantly being reminded of her. Her favorite restaurant down the street, the church she would always volunteer at and even things in the house like her pictures on the wall or stuff she had owned. And it's not like we want to forget her,
I slowly walked down the stairs of our house to go into the kitchen to look for breakfast.
Do my surprise I saw my dad in the kitchen drinking coffee while on his computer. I was surprised because he usually wakes up around 10:00 during the weekends, but was up around 8:30 on his computer doing who knows what.
"Oh, good morning dad. I didn't expect you to be up at this time." making myself a cup of water.
"Well you know, I was just looking around for a new house for us to move into.." My dad casually said
"Wait, WHAT!" I screamed dropping my cup of water in the process."Why are we moving?! And why didn't you ask me first?!
"Honey I gotta be honest..I think we need to start somewhere fresh.." He signaled me to sit next to him.
I bit calmed down now, I sat down. "What do you mean?"
"After the few months your mom passed away I had been thinking of leaving of moving somewhere else because I am being reminded of her almost everywhere we go. And I think that moving to a new town or city where we can start fresh will help.."
This completely caught me off guard, because while I knew that things like mom's favorite restaurant and pictures on the wall affected my dad emotionally. I never knew it affected him to the point of him wanting to move away.
"You know dad..that might not be a bad idea."
"Wait, really?"
"Yes, I think it would be a great idea!"
"Are you sure honey?"
I nodded "Of course! If it means it will make you happy." I said heartwarmingly giving him a hug.
Even though I wanted what was best for my dad, I was a bit disappointed
Three Weeks Later
Me and my dad settled on this cute small two story house located in the same city where my dad's side of the family was. Which I think is great, because being closer to family in a situation like this is probably best.
Also the past three weeks have been amazing with everyone giving us goodbye presents and a lot of support. I'm kind of sad that we have to leave a wonderful place like this. but, everything will be alright when we start over.
"Carly are you sure you got everything? Because there is no turning back."
"Yes I'm sure" as I clutched my blue gemmed necklace I had around my neck.
"In that case, next stop"
"MallowPine City !"

A/N
I feel like I rushed this one and felt like that I could have gone deeper in the story about the mom. But I think I will save that for future chapters. I'm also sorry if this felt sad or depressing, I wasn't going for that but I couldn't stop what I started oops.
Anyways, noobie author, out.
