🌻The Good, the Bad, and the Fashionable Pt 2/3🌻

🌻Before You Read🌻

🌻Again, HUGE shout out to aBitGrim for helping me with a TON of dialogue with this. A majority of this is Sakura and Dani going back and forth, so I had to as them for a ton of help as I wasn't sure about Dani's fashion choices/how he'd say things would be.

🌻Also, Grim, thanks for letting me use your character, Rose, in this.

🌻A HUGE shout out to FoxyPuff, sd1229, and riceygirl101 for letting me use Koto, Mori, and Iris's Hero Costumes to roast. KEEP IN MIND: these are fictional characters roasting them. I personally love all of their costumes and would've given them all a 10/10. We just had to think of this from Dani and Sakura's POV.

🌻If they are Pro Heroes...#sorrynotsorry, they are honest opinions. Or at least they are from me. Not all pics above will be used in the story, but I thought it'd be nice to see some Hero Costumes.

🌻I think this is the most interrobangs I've used in one chapter. Can you catch them all?

🌻Alright, that's all, so enjoy!

🌻The Fashion Roundup🌻

The rules were simple. Whoever cracked first in pointing out an outfit's flaws was the one who had to take a drink, but to make it more interesting, one of us would look at the costume first to save the eyes of the horrendous costumes. It'd also result in taking another sip of wine, but there were just some designs that should have never seen the light of day. Being that we had both witnessed some awful designs all day, there were just some things we needed to spare our eyes from.

Knowing that Dani was volunteering to do this (though, I was already planning on giving him some sort of pay for his time), I grabbed the binder and opened it to the first page.

Costume #1
Pro Hero: Creati

My stomach tightened as I saw the red costume, seeing the low neckline going all the way down below her belly button. There was a yellow buckle that tried to hold it together at the top, but it didn't do anything to show off the amount of skin. I understood that her Quirk needed her to show a bit of skin, so objects could come out, but I've seen her create things with her hand and push things out of her back. Surely, she could have thought of something better.

If this was what I was thinking, then Dani would probably gouge his eyes out once more. I just needed to find one good thing about this outfit.

"Her hair looks nice," I complimented as I lowered the binder down for Dani to see. "Like, it's pulled back, but it's in a way that wouldn't become distracting when she fights."

The man sitting next me raised an eyebrow. "Are we allowed to even compliment the hair? I thought we were just noting the outfit itself."

I shrugged. "Well, a costume is never complete without a good hairdo. Why do you think I braid my hair whenever I'm on the job? Keeping it down would be distracting, and it'd give villains a way to grab it easily."

Dani shook his head. "Whatever you say," he said as he studied the outfit carefully. "I mean, it's a bold choice for a costume. The red and white color scheme is very flattering on her."

Damn, I thought to myself. His comment with the whole color scheme was the only other thing I liked about it. I tried finding other things about the costume, but looking at it, there was nothing helping me.

My hand grabbed the glass of wine as I took a sip from it. I didn't even dare to look at Dani. I was just happy it was covered by his wraps; otherwise, I knew I'd see some sort of smirk on his face.

Placing the glass on my desk, I broke.

"Where is the bottom half of her costume‽ Like, is that belt supposed to be it? It looks more like a tan floaty that's more square than round. I get that a lot of female pros will wear a leotard for their hero costumes, and it's fine, but I'm just saying this one is not even trying to be decent. How can she even fight in that‽" I exclaimed.

"You say that like it's the worst part of the costume," Dani shot back.

I leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms over my chest as I glanced over at him. "Oh yeah? What's worse than that inflated belt?"

"The provocative cowboy boots," he pointed out, tracing his finger on the tight red boots that were on her costume. "Like, which designer gave her the okay to wear them?"

Knowing Dani, he could have said a lot worse about the costume, but he simply just grabbed the binder and turned the page. Whatever it was, I could tell it wasn't good as he just shook his head in disappointment.

"If there's one thing I can appreciate about Maestro, it's the fact that she's consistent about her costumes," he explained, dropping the binder back on the table for me to see.

He was right. Maestro was consistent, but in a good way. Because her Quirk dealt with creating sound, the redhead dressed up in a music conductor outfit, with a black overcoat hanging over a royal blue corset and a bowtie sticking out. Honestly, I couldn't find much bad in it, except for the fact that I could never understand how she could move in it. It was the complete opposite from Creati's as the outfit was very conservative.

So much so that she hid her face with a blue masquerade mask.

"Seeing her blue mask makes me wish I had one for my costume," I said. "It's just so elegant, and it just ties the outfit together."

There were some things that triggered Dani when it came to outfits. Boots that ran all the way up to the thigh, gloves, and the likes. I thought I knew about all the things he hated about a costume, but apparently I didn't.

Had I known that masks were a big no-no in his book, I might have complimented other aspects of the design.

"No, you did not just say that," Dani argued as he slammed his hand on the page. "This mask is doing nothing for her! Everyone knows that Maestro is Koto. It's not like she has a secret identity anymore, so why the hell would she try to hide that‽ Don't get me wrong, I love the girl, but she keeps insisting on wearing the damn mask!"

His words caused me to laugh as his face started to grow red when he realized he had just broke. Dani had no choice but to take his glass of wine and drink. As he did, I placed it in its own pile away from Creati's. There was no way those two outfits should be in the same league. While I didn't think it was bad, I wasn't going to argue with Dani's judgement.

The man handed me the book where I opened it to a page where the Pro Hero seemed not to have changed his outfit much since high school, if at all. I didn't blame him though. He wore a dark leather jacket over a plain white shirt, and paired it up with leather pants. Normally, I had a thing against leather. So many people thought they could pull it off, but in the end, they couldn't. This Pro Hero could.

Not only that, but there was the fact that he kept with a dark color scheme. His brown, bat-like wings spread across the picture, making him look even more powerful. Yet, he didn't look intimidating as he flashed a wide smile, showing off his perfectly white teeth, even his two pointed fangs.

I didn't think I was staring at it long when I heard Dani say, "let me guess, is that Pro Hero, Nocturn's costume?"

My eyes widened at his suggestion before I snapped my head in his direction. "Yes, but I'm only staring because I really like his outfit. I don't even know where to start because I normally hate leather on people in general, but Mori knows how to pull it off. It's just perfect for his line of work being that he works at night. Villains wouldn't know what hit them."

Dani nodded his head in agreement. "You must be close with him being that you know his name, but I can't really disagree with you there. It's plain that he should add something to make it better, but at the same time, I'm glad he didn't go overboard with the design," Dani commented before tilting his head to the side. "Why is your face growing red?"

My fingertips quickly brushed the side of my cheeks as I felt the heating up slightly. Honestly, it was embarrassing.

Probably those damn rumors I heard the other day about us being a couple, I thought to myself. It was nothing more than that. Rumors. Rumors that I was with someone.

The stories people would create to try and get me to reveal who I was dating was just annoying.

I didn't want to hear it from Dani, so I tore the page, placing it in its own pile. Creati was in the worst. Koto was a maybe for the best as I liked it, but Dani wasn't a fan of the mask. Mori was a good contender for best costumes. Once three piles were made, I handed Dani the binder, realizing how much of a bust this night was going to be. We made this into a drinking game, and none of these outfits were really even that bad.

Of course, the moment that thought came into mind, I noticed Dani tearing the page out and slapping it face down on the worst costume pile, all while taking a giant drink from his glass.

When my hand went to grab the picture of the costume he thought was so horrible, I felt something wrap around my wrist, pushing me back into my chair. My eyes widened as I noticed the sheer look of terror in his face.

"Trust me, it's bad," he said.

"Oh come on, I doubt Vittoria would put an eyesore in the beginning," I commented, trying to push my way back to the table as I was curious to see what got Dani all so worked up.

But he wasn't going to happen. The moment I stood up, Dani grabbed both of my wrists and pushed me back into the chair, keeping my wrists on the armrests. He was so close to me when he did it too, that I could see his dark skin poking out from his white wraps. Dani was doing everything to keep me from seeing that design.

It only piqued my interest even more.

"Sakura, I love you too much to see the monstrosity that's on that page," he claimed.

I struggled, trying to get out of his grasp, but sadly, Dani was a lot taller than me. As tall as he was, he was also stronger when it came to physical strength. It wasn't going to stop me though. My foot slipped my shoe off as I felt a vine wrap around my leg and slip past Dani. I was careful not to bump him with the vine as I used it to grab the paper. It rustled as the vine slipped it off of the table.

Upon hearing the paper crinkle, Dani's grip loosened around my wrists, allowing me to push past him and grab the paper. The man didn't even try to fight anymore as I had the paper in my hands. In the corner of my eyes, I could see him sitting down in his chair shaking his head in disappointment.

It took everything inside of me not to laugh. It wasn't the worst Pro Hero costume, but it wasn't nearly as good as Koto's or Nocturn's either. There were two costumes on the sheet of paper. Both were similar in the sense that they were a plain jumpsuit with thick straps on the shoulders that wrapped underneath the armpit. One was a plain white with ice crawling up the left side. While that costume lacked color, the other one was a blue jumpsuit with white straps instead of the yellow ones on the white costume.

While they weren't bad, I knew why Dani loathed the costume more than anything.

"I was young, okay. We do stupid things when we're young," Dani quickly defended himself as he lowered his head and ran his fingers into his dark purple hair. "It was all his idea, and he was stuck on it too!"

A smile tugged on my lips as I sat back down in my chair, grabbing the book. "I'm getting frostbit just by looking at this picture," I commented as I tossed it back to the bad pile. "I mean, who the fuck let Captain America out of the ice to slap me across the face with this horrifying outfit?"

"Can we not talk about it and move on," Dani moaned. "I want to forget about that costume."

But I wasn't going to let him forget about it. Dani was an amazing designer, so seeing that he let someone walk away in that was just a crime.

"Were you trying to make him look like a frozen terminator?" I asked.

"Shut up, and move onto the next costume," Dani shouted.

I shook my head, opening the book and flipping to the next page. My eyes didn't need to look at who the Pro Hero was as I recognized her all too soon with her short pink hair and her dark tan skin that was the same tone as Dani's. The two weren't related, but if memory served me correctly, they both had a Hispanic background. Maybe they came from Cuba or something? I wasn't entirely sure. Either way, it made sense why they both shared the same skin color.

However, Dani was nothing like his good friend Rose. Her outfit was an absolute mess with the pants. The lines were so not clean, and they just hid her completely. It was almost as if she was trying for a steampunk look with the brown chunky jacket with gears on it, but she wasn't going through with that theme when she had the design that she did painted on the back of the jacket.

"You know I can't take off points for people who use flowers in their designs," I said, laying down the design in front of us, so Dani could see. "I love how the rose is blooming out of the clover. Not technically how roses work, but I like the creativity there."

Dani didn't waste a second as he grabbed his drink and took a drink from it. I smiled as the man just shook his head.

"Okay, I love Rose, I really do, but by God, there is no saving that woman's sense of style," he explained, shaking his head in disappointment as he swirled his wine in his glass. "It's like if steampunk and a construction worker had a very ugly child."

That's what it was! I thought to myself, looking back down at the picture. The brown jacket was steampunk looking, but it was the baggy pants that just killed it.

Thinking about it more, I remember Dani ranting about this outfit to me back when we were in school. The poor guy did everything he could, so Rose would have a decent outfit. He obviously lost that fight. Even worse, she kept it too.

He took another sip of his wine, almost as if he was distracting himself from his mistake. First Shoto, then Rose. If we had some more classmates filling up this book, then I was going to have to walk Dani to his apartment completely sober.

I didn't have a chance to say more as he grabbed the book from me and tore Rose's page out, slapping it on the bad pile. He glanced down at the outfit that was in the book and shrugged.

"Alright, so it's not the worst thing I've seen today," he started out saying. "The mask isn't trying too hard like some heroes we know too well."

Before he could place the costume down, I tried to think of which hero it could've been. I didn't think there was any Pro Hero that could have a mask that was not a whole lot. We had just seen Koto's, and I thought that it was one of the best Pro Hero masks out there. How could Dani think differently?

That was when he placed the binder down to show a mask that was basically nonexistent. It was there, but only so it could hold some lenses that the Pro Hero could see. Not that many people knew that her mask doubled as glasses, but it did.

If only my eyes would let me admire her mask. The outfit didn't leave much for the imagination. It was skin tight, hanging around her curves, accentuating every part of her body. Honestly, I didn't know how she could fight since her long hair hung down, giving villains a great opportunity to grab and yank.

Her long, Christmas tree-like hair wasn't even the worst part of the costume.

No, I'm not going to crack. If this is what I'm thinking, then Dani's probably thinking worse, I thought before taking a deep breath.

"I like the colors that she chose," I complimented. "Sure, I don't think white should be the primary color of this, but the colors aren't tacky like some pros we know."

Dani nodded his head. "It definitely fits her aesthetic too, and the boots aren't the worst I've seen today."

Weren't the worst he's seen today‽ Did he see the blue socks that came out of the black boots and were held up by straps‽

I couldn't hold it in much longer as I shook my head. "Her name is Midnight! So, why the hell would they let her have a white costume‽ She should be in black, like Nocturn's costume, but no! She has to flaunt around and make it known that she's an R-rated hero. Like, how do adults explain it to their kids that she's a hero?"

My hand grabbed my glass of wine as I took a nice long drink from it. Honestly, it was the worst costume I had ever seen.

Dani didn't seem to disagree.

"It's by far the tackiest thing I've seen all day," Dani claimed. "What is that cheap feather duster going to do against some villains? The first thing I'd do is tell her to lose that and look into some better nail polish."

"That's where you'd start?" I questioned, pointing at the broken handcuffs that she wore as bracelets. "It's as if she knows her outfit is a crime with those fake handcuffs. Like, there are villains out there that can control metal and could use that to stop her before she could even fathom using her Quirk!"

"At least she'd be arrested for her fashion crime," Dani pointed out.

I rolled my eyes, grabbing the binder to see the next atrocious outfit after placing Midnight's costume in the far left pile. A breath of relief escaped my lips as I saw a fellow classmate's costume on the page. It wasn't like Shoto's whose outfit should've been burned, but one that was really nice looking.

It was another leotard costume, but with pink lines that made an exquisite design. The leotard was flattering on her body, but was covered by a plastic jacket that wasn't really needed. Looking at the thigh high boots, I knew it wouldn't take Dani long to crack. I laid it down, so he could see it right away.

"I love how Pro Hero, Hitsuji, uses softer colors. Her one Quirk is Sheep, so it makes her seem like a warm person to talk to, and she is!" I exclaimed.

"While she's wearing thigh high boots, they're not horrible," he complimented. "The pink satin on the top really matches the design on the white leotard, and the skin color sides are a bold choice."

Be ready to drink up, Dani, I thought.

"Those are her legs," I told him. "Those are not a tan slips or anything."

Dani's eyes widened as he took a drink from his glass. Looking over at it, the once filled cup was now nearing the end of the glass. I glanced over at mine, seeing I wasn't so far behind, but I still didn't have as much as he did. All I knew was that once I drank a cup, there was going to be no holding back.

"Why?" Dani asked. "Just why would she ruin a perfectly good thigh high‽"

He cleared his voice, intimidating a higher one when he spoke again. "But maybe it's for the style," he said, before lowering his voice to his usual tone. "I don't care! What happens when it rains? She has a jacket to help protect her from that, but those boots are going to do nothing for her!"

"On the bright side, the bottom of her feet are covered. And they're platform boots too to give her some height," I recalled, remembering how she was taller than I was with her hero costume when we fought a villain together the other day.

I grabbed the page to put into the top ten, only to have it snatched and thrown into the center pile of potential costumes. Somehow, I knew once this night was over, Pro Hero Hitsuji was going to be getting a very interesting phone call from Dani.

Dani looked at the binder that was in his hands. His dark purple hair covered his orange eyes as he studied it for a bit, almost trying anything he could say to compliment it.

"At least Mt. Lady is consistent with her color schemes," he said.

He didn't need to lay down the book for me to grab my wine glass and take a giant swig from it. By the time I set it down, it was just below the line as to where Dani's glass was at.

That jerk! I thought. He knew better than anyone how I felt about Mt. Lady. I didn't even want to look at the costume when it was laid down. It was tacky that it was ingrained in my head from the amount of times I had worked with her. Mt. Lady wasn't a terrible hero. She was just too much like Midnight in the sense that she wore a suit that was far too tight, but being that her Quirk allowed her to grow, it just made her worse.

"Consistent my ass," I shot back. "There are too many colors that could better pair with purple than that damned orange. Not to mention the flesh color material that hangs on her arms and hips, like no! It leaves nothing to the imagination, and it's absolutely disgusting."

Dani laughed. "Is that the only reason why you hate that costume?"

"Oh, don't get me started!" I said, pointing to the horns. "It's like she copied Midnight's costume, but made it worse! Like, why add horns to that? Why? Why‽ This outfit needs a complete redo! The only excuse I can give her is that she doesn't have a full length mirror in her home to see how hideous it is!"

"True," Dani said, "but even if she didn't have a full length mirror, she should be able to see those awful boots. Like, what is up with the playboy cowgirl theme? Did I miss the memo that Pros are choosing the two trashiest themes to create something even more trashy?"

I shook my head. "I hope not, otherwise fashion is going to die."

"Amen to that," Dani said as he tore the outfit out of the page and placed it in the worst costume pile.

We had only gone through eight costumes, and looking at the wine that was left in our glasses, I had a bad feeling we weren't even going to get halfway done with these costumes by the end of the night without passing out, especially since these seemed to be getting worse and worse with every design.
