🌸Sakura's Sweet Sixteen Pt 1/4🌸

🌸 Before you Read 🌸

🌸This story does NOT align with the events of KL or INH at all for so many reasons. It's a crossover. What do you expect! None of it is cannon, but one can only hope all the couples in this will be someday.

🌸Same rules apply as always: my cast is in 1-B, Shelby's stays in 1-A. This moves Tami into 1-D as 1-C is a Hero Class in Shelby's book. Of course, unlike the last fic, this would take place if the dorms weren't a thing, but after those events as they're about to become second years (To those unfamiliar with it, Japan starts school in April).

🌸Also, it's so weird not to have chapter questions with these short stories, so I'm going to bring those back starting with this story at the end.

🌸Enjoy!

🌸Origami Invites🌸

One month. In one month, I'd be turning sixteen. Birthdays were never something I ever really cared about, but this one would be different. I'd just have to wait an entire month for everything to come together, and honestly, it was torturous.

At least today was the day I could start with the simple prep work.

I carried my bag over my shoulder as I walked into the lunchroom, gaining a lot of stares. I didn't care. It wasn't like I had my school books or any kind of homework with me. That would be unlike me. No, inside were invitations to my sweet sixteen party. Just thinking about it gave me goosebumps.

"Need any help?"

I looked up to see a boy from class 1-A looking down at me. His bat-like wings were tucked against his back as he balanced a tray of food in one hand and offered the other one towards me. When I first made it into U.A., I'd admit, I was a bit disheartened that I didn't make it into the top class. Back when I took the exam, I managed to get the most points in the practical exam in my section, ranking six overall. My written exam was what screwed me over. I'd never admit it out loud, nor did I ever show anyone any signs that I was unhappy, but I resented everyone from class 1-A because of it, maybe even more than my friend, Raiden, who was clearly unhappy that he was in the middle class of the Heroics Department.

Those thoughts quickly went away when the Sports Festival happened. I managed to make it to the final round, but seeing how many students from class 1-A did the same, and how they effortlessly ran through the obstacles, well, it was no surprise why they made it into class 1-A while my friends and I were in 1-B.

The boy walking beside me in particular definitely deserved his spot in 1-A. His Quirk alone was pretty impressive, but he was also equally smart and strong.

My mouth curved into a smirk as I stopped in the middle of the lunchroom, giving him my tray. I didn't wait to see a reaction from him; although, I was almost positive he was giving me a questioning look. With my tray out of hand, I swung my backpack off my shoulders and reached in for a particular invitation that was kept in the front of the bag. His name was spelled in neat letters on the front. Once it was in hand, I shrugged the backpack back onto my shoulders.

"I'll trade you this for my food," I told him, handing him a white envelope that said Mori on it.

"You know it would've been easier to just wait until we got to our table," Mori suggested as he gave me my tray back and took it from my hands. "What is it?"

"You'll just have to wait and see," I told him before walking towards our table.

At the table, there were two students sitting. I couldn't contain my excitement when I saw one of them was my best friend from 1-D, the General Studies Department. True, I did text Tami this morning to sit next to us rather than her small group of friends from her department, but seeing that she actually did got me excited.

She was quietly eating her packed lunch, eating in an awkward silence as a guy with black hair and gray eyes did the same. I guess that was to be expected from the two biggest introverts in our friend group. Knowing them, starting a conversation with these two would be hard, even if Tami was my best friend.

"So, how's everyone doing today?" I asked as I placed my tray next to Tami, sitting next to her. Seconds later, Mori did the same, sitting next to me. I didn't even have to look back to know as I felt his wing brush against my shoulder.

Tami looked up at me as her hand was just inches from her face. If I hadn't said anything, she would've had another bite of her dinosaur chicken nugget.

"Good," she said before plopping it in her mouth. I looked over at Akiba, hoping he'd give some sort of answer, but all I got was a shrug.

I looked up from the table, seeing no sign of our other friends. I guess Kaito and Raiden would've been a bit late since our class had training before lunch. Things got a bit messy that our teacher asked for the guys to stay back and help clean up. As for my other two friends from 1-A, they were nowhere to be found.

I just couldn't wait any longer. I leaned back in my seat and searched for some of the invitations. There was a bundle of one that had a paper on top saying "1-A" on it. All but Mori's was in there being that I wanted to make sure I gave his to him personally. Tami's was tucked in a different pocket. Once all the invitations were in my hands, I sat back up.

Even though Akiba and Tami tried not to watch, I could see their eyes drilling into mine. In the corner eye, I could see Mori slipping his invitation from underneath his tray and under the table to open it. As much as I didn't want him to open it right away, it would've been weird to take it back.

"Here," I said to both Akiba and Tami as I handed them their invitations. "I hope you two aren't busy a month from today," I quickly looked over at Mori, "same goes to you."

"Wait, next month is March," Tami whispered, realizing what was going on.

"What's going on in March?" I heard Misaki ask.

I looked up to see the dark haired girl from 1-A sitting across from me just as her pink-haired friend with golden ram horns sat on the other side of Akiba. It took everything in me not to smile even more than usual as it was finally happening. My hand reached for their invitations before I handed it over towards them.

Of course, before any of them could even open up their invitations, Mori beat them to it.

"I didn't know your birthday was coming up so soon," he commented.

"Yup!" I said, "and I'm having a huge dance to celebrate. I just need help handing out some of the invitations to the rest of 1-A and all of 1-C since I don't usually see them. I've got 1-B covered."

"Wow, sounds like you're going all out," Kita whistled.

"Well, duh!" I said, looking over at the girl as her golden eyes were scanning the details. My smile widened as I looked at her. "I just want to have a lot of fun, no gifts, but—"

"We have to bring a date," Tami whispered. Her voice was mortified as she read it.

Upon hearing that, everyone's face started to tinge pink. What could I say? It was my goal that by the end of the school year, certain friends of mine who had feelings for each other or had a little crush on someone would start dating. At this point, it was a long stretch, but our second year of U.A. was about to start, and I didn't want to go through another year of seeing how oblivious they all were to one another.

Would it kill them to just own up to their feelings? Honestly!

"Wait," I heard Mori say, "where does it say that?"

I turned my head and smiled. "It doesn't on yours because I want you to be my date. So, what do you say?"

This was the moment I was waiting for. I wanted to prove to my friends that it wasn't that hard to just ask someone to go out with them or to even just ask to go to a dance together. Mori and I were just friends. While I knew he had feelings for me, we couldn't date. It had nothing to do with him. Honestly! If things were different, I could totally see us being a bit more than friends. It was just that I could start working at Foxglove's Agency my third year of U.A. It was easier if I didn't have a boyfriend to distract me when I work there as I knew her feelings on interns dating while working for her. She saw them as a distraction.

It seems harsh, but all within good reason. Things would be intense. Her agency only accepted third years because of it. Working with her agency was always a dream of mine because I could ask all sorts of questions about how she juggles being a full-time fashion icon, designer, and Pro Hero.

Of course, seeing the faint pink flash across his dark skin was adorable to see. It was hard catching this guy off guard due to his excellent bat-like hearing, so the fact that I could do it now was a sight to see.

"You want me to be your date?" Mori's voice was dumbfounded.

"Duh. Why do you think there's a piece of origami in your invitation?" I asked.

Mori looked inside the envelope and pulled out my poor excuse of a paper crane as the head was barely holding together and the wings had tears in them. I had no idea how it happened as I followed a tutorial to a T. While it was probably the worst piece of origami in the history of origami, I had to do it as an inside joke between Mori and our friends.

The boy couldn't suppress his smile as he held the origami crane for everyone to see.

"So, one thing you're not perfect at is origami," he joked before looking at me. "Of course, I'd love to be your date."

"Great," I told him before I turned back to look at the rest of our friends.

Most of them stared at us with wide eyes. Tami refused to even look over as she started to rub her thumbs over her pointer fingers. If anything, I seemed to have made things more awkward for them which was not how I wanted this whole thing to go.

I just needed to give it time.

🌸🌸🌸

A week was more than enough time to see my friends asking each other on their dates. By Friday, when 1-A and 1-B had our Heroics class combined for the first time, I was able to hear all about it from Misaki. The girl from 1-A had a similar Quirk than me, which made her a formidable opponent to say the least. Little did she know how I had been practicing sprouting my vines from places other than my arms. She nearly had me on the ground when she threw one of her deadly nightshade flowers at me, but I quickly used my vines to push myself off the floor and wrap her with another pair of vines that came right out of my elbow and sprouted from my wrists.

The girl didn't even see it coming as she was quickly pinned to the ground. With nowhere to move, she couldn't use one of her deadly nightshade flowers on me, nor could she sprout a vine from her wrist. I used this to my advantage as I stood above her, smiling a bit menacingly as I looked down at her.

"So, have you found a date yet?" I asked in a sing-song-like voice.

Despite her dark skin, I saw Misaki's cheeks pinken before she turned her head to look away. "Sanada asked me last night, so we're going."

I turned my head realizing she didn't just turn her head to avoid my gaze. She did it to look at the blue haired boy she was talking about. I couldn't quite tell what his Quirk was as he was was helping Raiden up on his feet. Seeing that the two were talking to each other, I figured their match had ended, meaning they had to talk to each other about it. When I saw that, I slowly pulled my vines away from Misaki and wiped my hand under my nose just in case. Luckily, I had been training extra hard so that my allergies wouldn't flare up as bad as they used to.

Ever since I heard Misaki had a crush on the guy, I was hoping he'd have feelings for her too. Hearing that he had asked her out to go to my birthday party only confirmed that there was a good chance. I smiled at the possibility, especially since he wasn't a bad looking guy. He looked like a twig as he stood beside Raiden, but then again, someone had to have worked out a lot in order for them not to.

"So, do you have your dress picked out," I asked, looking back at Misaki.

The girl stretched her arm over her chest, probably trying to get rid of all the knots my vines gave moments ago. "I'm thinking of getting something purple, but I still need to go dress shopping to make sure. Kita and I are planning to go tomorrow. You can join us if you want."

I smiled at the girl's offer. Honestly, it was all tempting, but there was just one problem.

"Thanks," I told her, "but I have to help my moms plan a bit more. Plus, I already have my dress figured out; otherwise, I'd totally cancel and go with you guys."

Misaki seemed to have understood. We probably would've talked more about it, but at that moment our teachers called us together to call it a day. They had us evenly match that everyone seemed to have had some sort of trouble keeping up with whomever they were paired up with. It was hard to tell who won which match against their partner because of it. I was just happy to be paired up with Misaki, so I could try some of my new tricks against her.

As we walked out, I knew I should've walked back to the girl's changing room with her to giver her some pointers about her vines, but I didn't. It wasn't that I didn't want to help the girl from 1-A. I did! I just knew I could've talked to her after school about it. Despite being in different classes and all, I was certain she'd be more than happy to get a few pointers on her new skill of creating vines with her Quirk.

After all, who better to give her advice than me as I had a Quirk that centered around one?

No matter how much I wanted to do that, I noticed Raiden walking out of the gym with a dark haired boy. If I thought Sanada was scrawny against him, well, this guy was like nonexistent. Again, it had nothing to do with the boy, but rather the fact that was what happened when walking beside Raiden Yamamoto.

I couldn't help but to smile when I saw the two and quickly walked over. Without warning the two, I jumped from behind them and wrapped my arms around their shoulders. Both guys were taller than me, which was why I had to jump in the first place, but by the time I landed, I could feel both of them nearly trip on their own two feet as their torso's went flying forward.

"What do you want?" Raiden growled as he quickly shrugged my arm off his shoulder.

"Oh, nothing," I innocently said before looking into the gray eyes of the boy to my right. "Did you ask Kita to go with you to the party?"

Just like Raiden did, the boy quickly snaked his way out of my grasp. He didn't seem to want to make eye contact when he did.

"What makes you think I've already asked Yukimura to be my date?" he asked.

I raised an eyebrow. "Okay, Akiba. I know you might have everyone fooled that you two don't have a thing because 'you're too busy training to become heroes' act, but that still doesn't give you two the excuse to ditch my birthday party. Plus, I never said it had to be a date-date. You two could go as friends. I'd just hurry if you wanted to ask her cuz she's going dress shopping with Misaki this weekend."

Akiba scratched the back of his neck. "Did they mention what color dress Yukimura's going to be wearing?"

A smile slid onto my face when I heard that. There was only one reason why he'd ask that.

"Ha! So you are going together! I knew it!" I cheered.

"Wait a minute, I never said—"

"True," I interrupted Akiba, "but can you honestly say otherwise?"

The boy from 1-A snapped his mouth shut as I turned my head to my left to look at Raiden, but he was gone. I frowned in disappointment, knowing he only did that to avoid the question.

Was Raiden ever going to ask Tami to the dance? If he didn't, I feared she wasn't going to have a date, or worse, she'd go with someone other than him. I wasn't sure who all was in 1-B or 1-C, so any of them could've easily ask her. Raiden would have been the only one who Tami would've felt comfortable being with.

Not to mention, if they didn't go together, then there was absolutely no way those two would ever have a chance to be together. Then all my hard work would be for nothing!

I turned my head to see Akiba nearly turn into the boy's locker room, but I was quicker. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the way until we were a couple of feet away from the locker room. Once we were a good distance, I stared right into his gray eyes.

"Please tell me you read his mind or talked to him about his date or something," I said to Akiba.

His gray eye widened. "You know my Quirk only works if I'm touching someone, right?" he questioned.

My hand slowly slipped off of his wrist as I just happened to remember that small detail. Of course his Quirk would only work if he was touching someone. If he could read minds without touch, oh my gosh, I'd so tag team him on getting people together, but that wasn't the case. His Quirk just had to have some sort of limitation on it.

Would it be too much to ask if a Quirk didn't have a limitation? Actually, scratch that. Maybe it was for the best. If someone's Quirk didn't have a drawback, then there was a good chance there'd be mass chaos. Don't ask why, but I just had a gut feeling about that, especially since not everyone had good intentions.

I just wished Akiba's Quirk didn't max out like that or had a different kind of limitation. It'd probably help him become a hero a bit easier if it didn't rely on touch.

"Still, you have to know something about who he's going to ask or who he's taking, don't you?" I asked.

Akiba sighed. "Do you really think Raiden would be the kind of person to open up about his feelings, Sakai?"

I frowned at his point. Damn, this was going to be harder than I thought.

"But, I did happen to catch his thoughts earlier," he told me, "and I don't think you should worry."

"Worried? Do you really think he'd be the kind of person to go through with it? He just needs to ask—"

From the pocket of my jacket, I could feel my phone go off. Normally, we'd be in our gym clothes, but today, since we were all hero students, we were able to wear our Hero Suits. Unlike Akiba's dark utility belt that wrapped around his waist, mine had pockets inside my green jacket. It wasn't exactly a smart idea to have my phone on me in class, but I had asked someone from the Support Department to remodel them to make sure nothing would be crushed. You never know when you'd find something interesting during a mission and would need to keep it in a safe spot, away from wandering eyes.

My hand carefully reached for the device, seeing that it was nothing more than a text message from Tami.

Tami-tan🦕
Hey, what are you doing tonight?

Tami-tan🦕
If you're not busy after school, would you mind helping me pick out a dress for your party? If not, I could always send you pictures of what I have.

I looked up at Akiba, who just turned around, so he could get back to the locker room. I wanted to ask him if he somehow knew what was going on, when I got yet another text.

Raiden 💪
Before you even think about interrogating me, I have a date for your party. Don't think about bugging me about it.

A smile crept on my face as I read that. Too bad I couldn't really see that all happen in action, but at least those two would be going together. I mean, how could they not when they texted me at the exact same...

Oh no, he better not have asked her over text.

I would've marched into the boy's locker room myself to check if it wasn't for the bell ringing, signaling it was time to head to our next class. True, I had a free period next period, but I still needed to freshen up a bit.

At least my friends would all have a date to my party. Now, all I truly needed to worry about was how to get them from being friends to being something a bit more.
