Romeo and Juliet
I went to go see the play Romeo and Juliet today. The bus ride was two and a half hours long, and we watched the original Looney Tunes part of the way up. I was listening to Owl City at the same time, and Alligator Sky came on just as Bugs Bunny was blasted to the moon. It was awesome and hilariously fitting.
When we arrived at the theatre, we were allowed to walk around the immediate town area for a few hours to get some food. Long story short, we got terribly lost and paid for overpriced food at the theatre. Next time, the teachers should just mark the recommended restaurants on the map rather than just giving us a street plan. (Although there were plenty of birds in the water and they were gorgeous, which made it totally worth it)
When we finished with our food, we went to the gift shop so my friends could try to help me overcome my anxiety when making purchases. Unfortunately, nothing that caught my eye was at a reasonable price (twenty dollars for a NOTEBOOK) and I didn't end up getting anything.
The theatre was beautiful and pretty big. Me and some of my friends got to sit at the front row in the balcony, so we got a great view of the performance.
This picture doesn't have a very good view of the size of the theatre itself, but the set is beautiful, and that was my main focus. We also got our programs, which were really neat, although the lights dimmed not a minute later, so I didn't get to read it.
On the bus ride back, some guy started singing "I'll Make A Man Out Of You" from Mulan, and then he sung "Let It Go" from Frozen. Everybody joined in, and it was aMAZING. I wish I'd gotten a recording, but the iPad doesn't have enough room. After Let It Go, we sang How Far I'll Go from Moana, and A Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.
All in all, today was fantastic, and I'm super excited for the next theatre trip in the spring.
