25 | Crawl in Circles
Somehow, Lucas has found himself standing in front of the line, almost leading them. He turns slightly, shooting Noah a panicked glance. If anyone should be leading them, it should be the boy who specialized in two not a Luxine who may or may not be able to see the future.
In response, Noah grimaces and shrugs slightly.
"How do we want to do this?" Lucas asks, stopping mid-step causing everyone else behind him to stop.
"There's only one way to go right now, so I guess keep going that way," Orion replies standing behind Zoe who hadn't left much space between her and Noah, in fear of losing him or herself.
"Sounds like a plan to me," Raylene adds, looking around her surroundings, trying to use something as a clue. But all she could see was green around her and brown dirt beneath her.
They continue walking.
Noah pauses, his hand reaching around to feel the green. He then bends down to feel the dirt beneath. Even though Orion knows this is hardly the right time to be admiring the boy's backside, Orion can't help but be impressed.
"Do you feel that?" Noah asks.
Orion doesn't miss the exchange between Lucas and Zoe before Raylene mimics Noah's posture.
"The Earth is shifting. Be careful when you're walking," Raylene says, her eyes hyperaware now.
"I'll be the first to walk then, so I can sense any changes just in case spikes shoot up out of nowhere."
Following his sentence, Noah exchanges spots with Lucas.
Tentatively Noah takes a step, following another with his palm pressed on the greenery.
"That might not be enough," Raylene says. She bends over a little and pulls one shoe off, so one of her feet is barefoot. "This way I'll feel the ground."
Noah nods in approval and continues.
Without walking for a complete five minutes Raylene screams, "Stop!"
Noah freezes, just in time for the ground to split into a hole that would've frankly swallowed them hole.
"Fuck," Lucas curses, his eyes wide.
Zoe sighs.
"Fuck indeed."

There are many things concerning Sierra about the task. The first being that she doesn't really know anyone in her team. Noah, Lucas and Zoe are in Team B, even Orion who has recently become her companion in the library isn't in her team. The closest she has right now is Amisha and she looks a bit occupied with Alec.
Sierra Kingsley is also concerned with the fact that she's standing very, very close to Day Blackwood who is currently leading the team on their walk. She mentally laughs at the word walk, as if they're simply taking a walk in the park and not possibly their death.
She takes a deep breath.
Before she can even exhale, the consumer witch walking in front of is no longer there. In fact he is falling off the ledge created from the ground splitting.
Sierra screams with so much worry that she surprises herself, "Day!"
She kneels down, peering over the edge.
"What the fuck," Alec says, leaning over Sierra.
Day hangs of, barely holding on to a dent in the wall, a metre away from the top.
"I'm okay!"
"How the fuck are you going to get up here?" Amisha yells back, bewildered by the lack of panic in Day's voice.
"Can you climb back up?" Sierra asks, her eyes scanning Day up and down.
If Day wasn't so occupied with trying to not die, he may have flipped her the finger. But taking all scenarios into account, he simply resorts for an incredulous look and a snarky tone as he replies, "Using what?"
Sierra doesn't reply for a moment. "I have an idea. Just hold on for as long as you can."
"Will do," Day replies, almost sarcastically.
Sierra stands up.
"Alec, can you do something, use an incantation to help Day hold on for longer?"
Alec's eyebrows furrow.
"Yeah, I think I might have something."
"Good, do that. Amisha can you levitate me across?"
"What?" Amisha asks, her face full of bewilderment.
"I said, can you levitate me across?"
"I heard you the first time, I just hoped you would be able to rethink what you were saying."
Sierra sighs. "We don't have time."
"Why don't you do it to yourself?" Aarush asks.
"It'll take too much power, and I don't want to waste that much."
"Alright, let's do this." Amisha moves, raising her hands. "Vitreus caelic certium. Vitreus caelic certium."
Sierra feels her body become almost weightless, and she tries to fight the scream that builds up in her throat. She hates this feeling. Hates it to her core. She presses her lips tight, trying to hold still until she finally feels the ground beneath her feet. And now she stands across from the others, at a slightly higher ground.
Wasting no time, she kneels down, her arm aiming precisely for a space above where Day's right hand currently is. Shooting a prayer to the Gods above she really hopes that she won't miss and injure Day instead.
"Impentus sionum," Sierra screams, the words holding power and precision. Her vestiums glow, and blue light shoots from the palm of her hand and attacks the dirt exactly where she was hoping for. A dent forms a few spaces from where Day's right hand is. Day tries not to jump from surprise, and stays frozen.
"Impentus sionum. Impetus sionum. Impentus sionum." The dents form, and Day grabs onto them. He uses his arm to follow his body up, and repeats.
Sierra's heart beats faster and faster in her chest. In this moment, she's aware of very few things: her erratic heartbeat, Day's fingers as they press into the dirt, and his contracting muscles as he pulls himself up higher and higher.
It's only when Day pulls himself over and stands does Sierra's heart calm – a little. She stands up and meets his eyes. This is the second time today that he's stared at her so intently, and she's not sure what he wants her to do except stare back.
"Sierra, can you levitate us over?"
Sierra nods in response to Aarush, and uses the same incantation as Amisha to bring Aarush closer.
Aarush uses the same incantation to bring Day.
Day chants, "Vitreus caelic certium, vitreus caelic certium."
His vestium glows red and Sierra's eyes are mesmerized by the red wisps glowing around Alec as he moves closer to them.
Sierra watches as Alec levitates Amisha closer, his eyes lingering on her a few moments too long.

"Wow," Zoe says, the awe evident in her voice. She pushes past Noah and Lucas, her eyes taking in the room of potions they've found themselves in.
She moves in a circle taking everything in, not missing the bridge Noah had created using the Earth. She can't help but wonder how the other team had done it, not having a Bender in their team.
"We need two potions," Orion starts. "One for survival and one for strength."
"This should be easy, breezy, cover girl, right Zoe?" Lucas says, looking at Zoe, and glancing back at Orion. "She takes Potions, she knows her shit."
"What allows survival? What allows strength?" Zoe mutters to herself.
"Survival could mean anything," Raylene interjects, her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Strength, strength, strength." Zoe walks around the room full of potions, her fingers lingering on the flasks and jars, her eyes scanning the labels.
"We'll need something with holy basil, wild schwanna berries and rhodian," Zoe says, as a trigger to send everyone in a frenzy around her to search each label.
It's only a few minutes later that Raylene yells a proud: "Got it!"

"Won't the potion for survival be totally dependent on the scenario?" Sierra says, standing near Alec, looking at the potions.
"That's what I don't understand."
Amisha holds onto the flask in her hand, the greenish solution moving within. The label reads boldly: The Potion of Merida containing: holy basil, wild schwanna berries, keras, turmeric, rhodian.
"Maybe it's a trick question," Amisha adds.
Day focuses his attention on her. "What do you mean?"
"Maybe there are multiple answers, and we're meant to choose what would mean most to us in terms of survival. Maybe it's all about team working and coming to a compromise on what would ensure survival for us."
"That would make sense," Alec responds, a soft smile on his face. Amisha nods, her eyes a little bit softer than before.
"So what does survival mean for us?"
