"Lydia? Come in Lydia. Lydia?" A voice rumbles through the intercom. Scratchy noises interrupt the speech, and the voice is obviously worried.
"Lydia? Lydia wake up" the voice continues.

Lydia stirs but doesn't open her eyes.
"Thank goodness she's alive" the voice whispers. "She's alive!" He shouts to the rest of the scientists in the room. They all cheer in amazement.

This is when Lydia let's her space grey eyes peek through into the world. She sits up in fright colliding with the computer system in front of her.
"Oww" she complains.
"Lydia are you feeling normal!" A scientist asks from the screen. Lydia glances at the monitor to see a Dr Worliti staring at her through his thin spectacles, dressed in his crisp white lab coat.

"I feel fine Dr Worliti" she grumbled.
"Thank god" he replied. "Now Lydia I need you to go and look out the window, and tell me where you are" Lydia did just that, and the sight that greeted her, struck every one in her body. She felt dizzy, and light headed, as she gazed out the window into the deep, withering blue.
"Dr Worliti?" She almost whispered.
"Lydia? Lydia wha- d-ou-se" and the intercom shut down.
"Dr Worliti? She gaped in horror, realising she was alone. The machine jolted, and Lydia hurriedly sat back down. She wasn't going to be hurtled anywhere while standing.

Lydia's breathing quickened, as her mind racked over the situation. She was in the machine. She glanced to her left where the porthole window was, and immediately turned back. She was in the middle of- god knows where. She had no communication to Dr Worliti and the scientists, and for all she knew she could be stuck in this endless abyss.
"Crap" she mumbled as she drifted off into a semiconscious sleep.

I want to apologise for the shortness of the chapter, but I've been sick all week and if I tried to write then the extent of it would have probably be:
"The small red fox ate a great big log"
