♕ Chapter 30
He stared at himself in the mirror as he felt uncomfortable in the Crown Prince's suit which Seth had worn for a long time. He didn't feel right and he wasn't sure whether he had made the right decision. There were so many things that wandered around his mind and mostly was Rose. She'll leave for London tomorrow and it was painful when he remembered the fact.
Surprisingly, Rose told him that Seth will not be following her to London even though he was no longer the Crown Prince. She wanted Seth to continue his studies here and reach for his dream to become a director. Alex hated to admit it but he was impressed by the way Seth and Rose had sacrificed themselves for the happiness of their loved ones.
He tried to hold himself together as he took a deep breath. It was his coronation day as the new Crown Prince of Andorra. He and his mother moved into the castle two days ago, a day after King Edward had revoked the title from Seth. His bedroom door knocked. "Enter," Alex said in a calm tone.
Princess Christina walked into his chamber and she looked fabulous in her turquoise dress. Alex sighed as the last person he wanted to meet is his own mother. Christina put her hands on his shoulder as she observed him up and down in the mirror. "You look so handsome today. Just like your father, Alex," she said, proud of her own son that was wearing a Crown Prince suit.
"I don't feel right, mum," he admitted, his eyes are still on the mirror. Christina frowned. "What do you mean? This is what you were meant to do, Alex. Your father would be so proud of you," she convinced him, stroking his shoulder. "You'll be a great King,"
"What if I don't want to be a king?" he confessed, turning himself to face his mother. He looked into her eyes. "It's not me. I want to be something more than this. I don't even know if I can be a good leader to the people. This is so wrong," he shook his head.
"Alex! What are you talking about?" Christina said, raising her tone. She thought Alex was already convinced by her words. "Remember that you promised that you'll help me to get back our pride? Remember how you vowed to help me regain the throne for you?" she reminded him everything that he said when he was a child.
Alex sighed. "That was when I was seven. I didn't know which is right and which is wrong. Now, I'm old enough to make my own decision," he ranted.
"Whatever happens, you'll be the official Crown Prince of Andorra today," she said, wearing a determined expression as she wouldn't change her mind. "No matter what, Alex. Or you'll pay for it," she warned, pointing a finger at his face.
Alex shrugged. "I need to talk to Uncle Edward," he said, pushing his mother slowly out of his way. He wanted to explain everything to King Edward about his mother's plans. He didn't care what his mother would do to him. Seth were with Rose so he was sure that she'll be safe with him. Christina gripped his arm. "Don't you dare do this to me!" she said, looking sharply into his eyes. "You promised me,"
"I'm sorry, mum," Alex said and he shoved her hand away from him. He stormed out of his chamber and headed for his uncle's office room. He'd never been so sure in making a decision as this. He knew that this was something he was supposed to do from the start. Madam Hartford bowed down when he bumped into her. "Prince Alex, the coronation will begin in half an hour," she told him.
Alex nodded. "I know. Where's King Edward?" he asked instantly, with hope that he was in his office room. "I think he's in his office," Madam Hartford said. "He was there the last time I've seen him. About an hour ago, Sire,"
"Thank you," he said before he walked away from there. He then remembered that he needed to ask something more. "Wait, Madam," he called to her as he turned himself to face her. "Where's Rose?" he asked, slightly worried that she might be alone. He was praying that Madam Hartford will say that she's with Seth.
"She's in her bedroom, I think," she said, wrinkling her nose as she thinks. "She was busy packaging her belongings for tomorrow," she looked down and Alex could tell by her tone that she was sad too. Everyone loved and cared for Rose. "Is she alone?" Alex asked worriedly.
"I don't think so. Daphne and Alexa are helping her," Madam Hartford said, shaking her head. Alex sighed in relief. "Right. Thank you," he said before he rushed away from there. Now that he was sure Rose were safe, he was ready to speak to the king.
He reached in front of his office. He raised his hand to knock on the door but hesitated for a second. Was he doing the right thing? The thought came back to haunt his mind. He shook his head and tried to convince himself that it was the right thing to do. Alex knocked on the door a few times before he heard a voice say, "Enter,"
Alex turned the door knob nervously as he pushed open the door. He saw King Edward, sitting at his office table, reading a book. "Ah, Alex. Come in," he said kindly, welcoming him. Alex smiled and he closed the door behind. He approached him and bowed down. King Edward smiled. "Sit," he instructed so Alex pulled the chair and got into it.
"What can I help you?" he asked and brought his hands together as he waited for Alex to speak. Alex gulped and his heart was beating fast. Somehow, his tongue refused to move and he became speechless. "Yes, Alex?" King Edward asked again as he noticed that his face were pale.
Alex took a deep breath before he said, "I need to tell you something really important,"
~~
"Packing up?" Seth smiled as he watched Rose, who was busy folding her clothes on the floor. Rose craned her neck to look behind her and saw Seth, arms folded to his chest as he leaned to the wall. She gave a smile. "Almost done," she said, pretending like she wasn't feeling sad or reluctant to leave him. She didn't want Seth to feel the same way.
Seth approached her and joined her on the floor. "What time is your flight?" he asked and his expression changed as he failed to hide his sadness. Rose sighed. "3 o'clock in the afternoon," she answered and wimbled with her fingers. Seth nodded and he was too, looking down to the floor.
They were officially divorced yesterday - in front of the lawyer and his families. Rose's family was shocked but after she had explained everything, her parents understood her decision. Jace and Ethan cried though - seeing that they didn't have any connections to the royalties anymore. Surely, they would lose all the girls.
Rose had told Lily and Cassidy everything that happened. They cried the moment she said that she is moving to London tomorrow. Lily had even given her a big hit on her back as she was angry at her for not telling them earlier. The three of them cried together and Rose promised that she would always call them.
But somehow, Rose didn't feel like she had lost Seth and they were divorced. Everything was still normal and right after the divorced happened, Seth had pulled her into his embrace and told her that he would always love her. For her, she will always be Rose Larston.
Seth braved up himself as he raised his head to look at her. "Good luck," he said, smiling assuringly. Rose chuckled weakly as she still wasn't sure whether she had made the right decision. "Thanks," she said shortly. "Are you going to Alex's coronation later?" she asked, changing the topic to ease the stress between them.
"Should I?" Seth smirked as he was annoyed. "He's taking my position, Rose,"
"Still, he's your cousin," Rose said, looking into his blue eyes. "And it's not his fault. It's no one's fault, Seth,"
Seth stared at her. "You aren't dressed like you're going to the coronation," he said, observing her up and down. Rose was still in her jean shorts and white top. "The event begins in half an hour,"
"What?" Rose startled and she grabbed his hand to take a look at his watch. "Sh!t, I almost forgot about dressing up!" she shouted and stood up to her feet immediately.
"Relax, don't panic, can you?" Seth said as he rose up to his feet. He beamed at Rose who was running to her wardrobe to choose a dress. Rose took a simple flowery dress and showed it to Seth. "What do you think?" she asked his opinion.
Seth curled his lips as he thinks. "Wear something shorter," he teased, looking at her legs. "Pervert," Rose joked before she motioned towards him. She smiled at him as she beamed in his eyes. "Get out, I want to get dressed," she instructed, pointing her finger to the door, asking him to go out.
Seth laughed. "What? I've seen everything, right?" he purred, wrapping his arms around her hip as he pulled her closer to him. He leaned in for a kiss but Rose stopped him. "I'm already late, monkey. Go and get ready. I want you to come with me or I'll drag you all the way to the hall," she said, blinking her eyes.
Seth sighed. "Fine," he sulked and pulled himself away from her. Rose chuckled as she knew that he was sulking. She grabbed his arm, stopping him from walking. She chirped, "I love you," as she planted a kiss on his cheek. Seth blushed and smiled at her. "I love you too," he replied before he went out of her bedroom.
~~
Rose and Seth walked into the hall and everyone stared at them. They must have been curious why they were still together even though they were divorced yesterday. Seth ignored the stares as he whispered through her ear. "Are you okay?" he asked concernly as he noticed that she was looking down.
"I'm fine," Rose gave him a weak smile as they motioned towards Queen Carla, Princess Liana and Princess Christina who was standing at the end of the hall. Rose gave a smile at them and only Liana replied her smile. Carla didn't even bother to look at her while Christina gave her an arrogant smile.
They waited in the hall for more than half an hour but neither King Edward or the new Crown Prince showed up. Christina started to panic as she was afraid that Alex had been serious about telling Edward all her plans. She started to sweat and her eyes kept checking the doors, waiting for her son to finally show himself.
The hall doors were opened but it was Mr Jameson who stepped into the hall. Rose and Seth stared at him as he was rushing towards them. "The king wants to see everyone in the common room immediately," he announced, panting for oxygen as he was running all the way to the hall. Seth and Rose exchanged looks as they were curious.
"But the guests?" Carla asked, showing her hand around the hall. Mr Jameson bowed. "I'll take care of them, your Highness," he said assuringly. Princess Christina hesitated and her heart was beating fast. "Where's Alex?" she asked, with hope that he wasn't with the King.
"Prince Alex is already waiting in the common room," Mr Jameson replied, crushing Christina's hopes into pieces. Rose and Seth made their way out from the hall, heading towards the common room and Princess Lexie and Carla followed at once.
"Princess?" Mr Jameson awakened Christina who he thought, was daydreaming. "Are you coming with us?" he asked. Christina cleared her throat. "Of course," she said before she made her first step, nervously, heading to the castle common room. She tried to think of something in case Alex did tell Edward everything about her. She wouldn't let her plans destroyed just like that. She'd been working hard for all this.
Rose and Seth arrived in the common room first, followed by Queen Carla and her daughter. They bowed down as they saw King Edward, sitting on the sofa, in the middle of the room and Alex was sitting on the sofa on his left. "Sit," he said to them and they followed his instruction. Princess Christina finally arrived and she bowed down. She could notice that King Edward was glaring at her and from that moment, she knew Alex had told him everything.
King Edward cleared his throat. "I need to say a few things to all of you," he started, glancing at Rose and Seth. "Especially to you both," he specified. Rose chewed her lips as they waited for him to continue his words. "Alex told me everything. About the real reason why'd you divorced. At first, I was disappointed that you, Seth, didn't tell me the truth. You made me look like a bad father for not understanding my own son,"
"I'm sorry," Seth said shortly. "I didn't want you to worry about it. I know that you've so many other works to do instead of worrying about Rose and me," he explained. King Edward smiled. "Nothing is more important than my own son, Seth," he said honestly. "You're my son, Seth. And I'm proud of you. I never thought that you would actually do that for Rose's sake,"
Seth chuckled before he beamed on Rose. "I would do anything for her," he said in awe as he took her hand into his. Rose gave him a bright smile as Alex looked down, smiling even though he was hurt. "Well then, I've discussed this matter with Alex and he was kind enough to have agreed on everything. I've made my decision to restore back your position as the Crown Prince of Andorra," King Edward announced happily.
"What? You can't do that to Alex!" Christina protested, raising up to her feet as she speaks. "You crowned him so you couldn't take it back just like that," she gave a sharp look at him. King Edward nodded before he said, "I believe I can, Christina. Alex himself has agreed on this. Said this is unfair for Seth," he flicked his eyes to Alex. "Right, Alexander?"
Christina glared sharply at Alex, warning him not to say anything stupid. It took a few moments before he finally said, "I'm sorry, mum. I just want to do the right thing. It isn't fair for me to be the Crown Prince. This is not mine - it's Seth. Always were," he explained. Christina shook her head repeatedly. "No, the throne is yours, Alex! Your father is supposed to be the king!" she shouted and didn't care what will everyone thinks of her.
"Prince Michael died fourteen years ago, Christina," Carla added. "You can't just assume everything that way. Sometimes, you just have to accept everything with an open heart," she looked at her and was slightly sorry for her.
Christina pointed a finger at her. "You don't know what I've been through, Carla! We've been chased out of the castle just because of the stupid rule! Fourteen years living outside Andorra!" she ranted.
"I'm sorry for everything, Christina. But I'm sticking to my decision. Seth will still be the Crown Prince of Andorra," King Edward said firmly. Alex motioned nearer to his mother. "Let's just get back home, mum. Forget everything and start a new life without any grudge," he tried to coax her, wrapping his arm around her.
"I won't forgive you, Alex!" Christina swore before she stormed out of the room, leaving the stunted Alex alone. Alex looked down and he closed his eyes, trying to hold himself together. Now, he got nothing left in this world. His mother hates him and someone he cared so much will be leaving tomorrow. Rose approached him. "Are you okay?" she asked concernly. No matter what, he's still her friend.
"I'm fine, Rose," Alex said, smiling assuringly as he put a hand on her shoulder. "You're still leaving tomorrow?" he asked, with hope that she'll stay even though he could never have her. Seth didn't say anything and everyone was waiting for her to answer the question.
"Princess, you belong here, in the castle with us," King Edward said, smiling at her. Lexie nodded excitedly, agreeing with her father's word. "He's right. You gotta stay here and be my sister, Rose. We still haven't done all the girls' things together so you must stay!" she chirped, encouraging Rose to stay.
Queen Carla, for the first time, smiled genuinely at Rose. "Yes. We need you here. The castle will not be bright any longer if you leave," she added as she motioned closer to her. Carla hugged her for the first time. "I'm sorry that I haven't been a good mother-in-law for you. I've never accepted you and cared for you, Princess and I'd regret it deeply,"
Rose smiled as tears dropping from her eyes - she hugged her tightly. "No, you've been a great mother , your Highness. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't because of you. There's nothing to be sorry for," she said. Carla lets her go and she beamed at her. "Stay, Princess. For everyone's sake. And call me, mother," she said, squeezing both her shoulders.
Rose silent herself as she looked around her. Everything was so perfect yet she has to leave them tomorrow. A part of her was telling her that this was where she belongs. If she leaves for London, she wouldn't just lose Seth but also the wonderful Larston family.
"I have to leave," Rose said, sobbing as she knows her decision will hurt so many people. "This is my dream. I've been wanting to go there since I was five," she explained, looking down to the floor. Seth frowned as he was sad about her decision - but he realized that it was for the best. He wanted her to reach for her dreams.
"I understand," King Edward gave her a weak smile as he was too, disappointed with Rose's decision. He has considered her like her own daughter. "Good luck in London," he wished. Rose smiled. "Thank you," she said, smiling with tears. Lexie sulked as she approached her. "I'm gonna miss you, Rose," she said in a sad tone and gave her a big hug.
"I'll miss you too, sister," she said, hugging her tightly. Rose had never gotten any sister before so she cared for Lexie just like her own sister.
Rose glanced at Seth, who was looking away as he tried to hold himself together that was broken into pieces. It was 20 hours to go until she lost him and the Larston.
~~
"Don't forget to call me everyday! And don't ever skip your dinner! You must take care of yourself, do you hear me?" Lily babbled as she held Rose's shoulders. Her eyes started to fill in with water as she spoke. Rose nodded and she was already in tears. "I will, Lily. Don't forget me either," she sobbed.
"Of course I won't, stupid!" Lily laughed with tears and she hugged her. "I love you. Take care of yourself," she said for the hundredth times. Rose nodded before she pulled herself away. She glanced at Cassidy who was sobbing beside Lily - she took her hands. "Stop crying, Cass," Rose coaxed. "It's going to be alright,"
"I can't. I don't want you to leave," Cassidy said, crying. Rose hugged her tightly. "I'll call you every day and we can still talk about One Direction together. We can Skype whenever you miss me, Cassidy. Please stop crying, you're making me feel guilty," she said, trying to coax her. Cassidy sobbed as she faced her. "I love you," she said, her eyes are red.
"I know and I love you too," Rose replied, holding both her hands. "Take care of yourself," she wished. Everyone was there, in front of the castle entrance - Lily, Cassidy, her maids, Mr Jameson, Alan and Seth. Rose didn't want them to send her to the airport as she realized she can't handle it. It was too painful to leave everyone that she loves. She'd met her parents yesterday and they ended up crying for more than three hours.
"Take care, ballerina and good luck! I'm sure there are hundreds of hot girls in your school so don't forget to e-mail me their numbers, okay?" Alan said, winking his left eyes. Rose chuckled. "Sure, player. I'll send you the janitors phone number," she joked. "I'm sure they'll be glad to know you," she added and Alan laughed.
Rose looked around, trying to search for Alex. She glanced at her wristwatch and it was almost time. He is supposed to be here by now so where was he? Rose would be very disappointed if he didn't show up. A limo was waiting in front of her to take Rose to the airport.
"Princess, take care of yourself," Daphne said with tears trailing down her cheeks. Alexa nodded and she was crying too. "Yes, Princess. You must come home for holidays and visit us here," she added. Rose nodded and she hugged both of them. "Thanks for taking care of me this seven months. I'll miss you guys," she said, closing her eyes.
"We'll miss you too, Princess," they said, sobbing. Rose then motioned to Madam Hartford who looked calm even though she felt like crying. She loved her just like she was her own daughter. "I'll miss you too, Madam Hartford. Everything that you taught me, I'll remember them forever," Rose said, smiling at her.
Madam Hartford grinned. "Take care of yourself, Princess," she wished before she startled when Rose hugged her. It has been ages since the last time she was hugged by someone. "Take care of yourself too, Madam," Rose said, hugging her tightly. Madam Hartford might be strict at some point but Rose now realized that it was for her own good. Rose let go of Madam Hartford and finally she turned her eyes to Seth who hadn't said a word to her.
Rose approached him. "It's time," she said, refraining herself from crying. She didn't want to see him crying. Seth looked deeply into her eyes with a blank expression. "I can't lose you," he admitted, unconscious of what he just said. "I thought I could but when I woke up this morning, I just realized that I can't," he looked down to the floor.
Rose placed a hand on his face, lifting it to look at her. "We've promised that we wouldn't be crying about this, right? You'll be fine," she said and a tear dropped from her eyes in slow motion onto her cheek. "I don't want to lose you either, but it's just...." her words trailed off as she didn't know what to say.
"I get it," Seth smiled reluctantly. "It's your dream and I want you to reach for it. I want you to be happy and that's all I've ever wanted, Rose," he cupped her face, looking into her eyes. "I love you and I'll wait for you even if it takes forever. I will always care for you. Just remember that, simpleton,"
Rose's heart clenched as she was touched by his words. Her eyes beamed at him as she knew that she won't be seeing him for at least 3 years. The driver came out of the limo. "It's time to go, Princess," he told her. Rose closed her eyes as she cried even harder - she put her head against his forehead.
"I love you too, Seth. Take care of yourself and be good. Don't you even dare to stop thinking about me, monkey," she said, teasing him. Honestly, she knew that Seth wouldn't stop thinking about her just like how she wouldn't stop thinking about him.
Seth leaned in and their lips touched. He was crying as he kissed her, wrapping his arms around her hips. He realized that it would be the last time Rose would be so close to him. They'll be miles away and only phone calls will keep them connected. Then, he pulled away as he was afraid that he might not let her go.
He planted the last kiss on her forehead as he hugged her. "I love you," he muttered and Rose immersed her face on his chest - feeling the comfort of being in his embrace for the last time.
"Bye," Rose said and she held his hand. She turned her eyes to the others. "Bye guys. I love you," she smiled with tears and they waved back at her. Seth opened the limo door for her and he gazed at her for the last time before Rose finally got into the limo. He closed the door and stepped away from the car.
Rose opened the limo's window. "Bye," she said, waving her hand to them. She took a final look at all of them before the limo finally pulled away. She watched Seth, disappearing from her sight as the limo finally left the castle compound - she cried.
~~
Rose sat on the bench in the airport terminal as she waited for the gate to be opened. She took out her iPhone from her handbag and opened her photo album. She smiled as she looked at her picture with Seth. She took a lot of his pictures, including his picture of sleeping as she will miss him a lot.
She just left him about half an hour ago and yet she was already missing him. Rose wondered how will she survive her years without a guy named, Seth Larston. 7 months of her marriage were the best time of her life. She fell in love for the first time then she was hurt and in the end, Seth finally fell in love with her. She would remember everything forever.
Without her realizing it, a tear dropped from her eyes as she beamed at the pictures. An old woman who sat beside her, saw she was crying. "Are you alright, child?" she asked her. Rose flicked her eyes to the lady and wiped her tears. "I'm fine," she croaked.
"Where are you going?" the lady asked her. Rose smiled. "London. I'm going to study there," she answered her question. The old lady nodded. "Then why are you crying?" she asked again, looking into her eyes. It took some moments before Rose said, "I have to leave someone I care about," she said, faking a smile at the lady.
Meanwhile, Alex was searching for her at the airport and he was pulling a luggage in his hand. He'd made a decision to follow her to London, no matter what. Princess Christina had gone missing after yesterday and he'd failed to contact her. Alex realized that he'd nothing left in Andorra.
He spotted her, sitting on the bench. Alex smiled as he made his way to her and couldn't wait to see her reaction.
Rose silent herself as the lady pulled a long breath. "Sometimes, we thought we had made the right decision when it's actually not. That decision didn't come from our heart, but it was made because we were too afraid to let go of the past. Sometimes, we have to let go of the things we love and let something new to fill the empty spaces. It's never too late to change our decision to make sure that we won't regret it forever," the old lady said wisely.
Click!
"What am I doing?" Rose muttered to herself like she just awakened from her mistake. The old lady was right. Ballet is her past and Seth is her future. "You're right," Rose smiled brightly, pointing a finger at her excitedly. "I have to let it go for something better," her mouth fell open before she slapped her forehead. "Why am I so stupid?"
"Life is just like a riddle, sweetheart. I'm happy that you'd finally figured it out," she smiled before she took her hand. "Go and retrieve your answer. Don't ever wait!"
"Right," Rose said, nodding excitedly. She stood up to her feet, grabbed her luggage and rushed towards the exit door of the airport. She slapped her forehead as she forgot to say thank you to the lady.
Rose turned herself to look at her. "Hey.." she trailed off when she realized that the old lady has gone.
That was fast.
She ignored her thought as she rushed towards the exit door. Alex waved a hand at her but she didn't notice him as she was rushing out of the airport. He stared at her as he saw Rose leaving the airport. At that moment, Alex knew that she'd change her mind - she won't be leaving Andorra or Seth.
"Passengers to London, flight A2749. The gate is open and you may board the airplane. The gate will be close in thirty-minutes. Thank you."
Alex sighed and he determined to stick to his plan. He will leave Andorra, with or without Rose. "Goodbye, Rose," he muttered under his breath, tightening his jacket to his body as he walked towards the gate. He made his first step into the gate without turning back as he knew he would hesitate if he stop.
Rose failed to find a taxi that was willing to take her to the castle. Everyone refused to send her as they realized that no taxi is allowed to be there. They called her mad. She walked to the last taxi that was available and prayed that he would agree. The taxi was old and rusty compared to the others but honestly, she didn't even care about it.
The taxi opened its window as Rose arrived. She took a long breath before she spoke. "Can you send me to the royal castle? I'll pay double," she said slowly, trying to catch her breath. The driver turned his head to her and he startled. "Princess Rose?" he said excitedly as he recognized who she was.
Rose nodded awkwardly as she smiled. "So can you help me?" she asked again, biting her lips as she hoped.
The driver nodded instantly. "I'll try my best for you, my Lady," he said, saluting Rose. She smiled before she threw her luggage into the taxi and she got into it. "I'm in a hurry," she said, leaning forward to the speak to the Mexican taxi driver.
"Anything for you, Princess," he said before he drove away from the airport in maximum speed. Rose's back slammed onto the seat as he was driving in high velocity. "Not too fast," she screamed, her hands gripping on the seat as she tried to hold herself together.
The road was jammed when they were just a few kilos from the castle. Rose looked outside the window and she didn't think the car in front would move any time soon. "Is there any other way?" she asked the taxi driver, Pablo. Unfortunately, he shook his head. "I'm sorry, my Lady. This is the only way to the castle," he sighed.
Rose ran a hand through her hair as she tried to think of something. "If I walk from here, how long will it take for me to get there?" she asked. Pablo wrinkled his nose, thinking. "About half an hour of walking, Princess," he answered.
Rose sighed. Half an hour? Then, she heard a car's horn from behind and she realized that the only way that she could get back to the castle was by walking. She opened the taxi door. "Thank you, Pablo," she said and stepped out of the taxi - determined to walk to the castle.
"Wait, my Lady!" Pablo stopped her and he went out of his taxi. Rose turned herself to him as she watched him taking out his phone from his pocket. "Can I take your picture?" he said hopefully. Rose laughed and then nodded. "Sure," she said and posed next to him as he took their photos.
Pablo smiled brightly. "Thank you, Princess. May God bless you and Prince Seth," he said, looking up to the sky. Rose smiled. "Thanks, Pablo," she said before she started to walk away from there.
"God bless you, Princess!"
Rose panted for breath as she had been walking for miles. The only thing that kept her going was the sight of the castle that was getting near to her. She'd been imagined Seth waiting for her and his perfect smile. Rose crouched down and took off her high heels - she was now walking in a barefoot and her hair was a mess because of the wind. No one would recognize her as a princess if they looked at her.
She finally reached the castle and tried to get in but she was stopped by a guard. "You can't get in here. This is a restricted area," he said firmly. Rose who was still panting for breath, showed her face to him. "I'm Princess Rose. Prince Seth's wife," she said slowly before she realized that she'd say something wrong. "Ex-wife,"
The guard observed her up and down. "I'm sorry but you don't look like Princess Rose. You have to leave now, Miss, or I have to call the cop," he warned. Rose's mouth fell open. "What the hell? I'm Rose Humprey! Can't you tell it?" she said, ranting. The guard started to chase her away. "Please, I'm Rose Humprey. Just let me in!" she said, trying to escape from the guard's grip.
Rose saw a familiar face, walking inside the castle front garden. Her eyes widened as she waved her hand excitedly. "Mr Jameson!!!" she shouted as loud as she could. The man called Mr Jameson turned himself to face the person who called him. He jumped slightly as he was shocked to see her. "Princess Rose?"
Rose nodded and sighed in relief. "Yes. It's me. Can you open the gate for me? I need to talk to Seth," she babbled. Mr Jameson approached her and he instructed the guard to open the gate for her. "Thanks, Mr J," Rose said, running her fingers through her hair and she was still trying to breath in properly.
Mr Jameson looked her up and down. "What happen to you?" he asked, raising an eyebrow as he stared at her curiously. "Did you miss the plane?"
"No time to explain," Rose said, shrugging her shoulders. She flicked her eyes to the guard. "Remind me to raise your pay for this month. You're the best guard in the castle" she joked, pointing a finger at the man.
She motioned into the castle, running as she headed to their bedrooms. There were loads of things wandered in her mind. Most of them was what she wants to tell Seth when she meets him. She wanted to tell him everything - her feelings, her decision and her love for him.
"Seth?" she called to him as she entered their building. She stared at the couch, the place where they usually hang around together but Seth wasn't there. "Seth Larston?" she called again, motioning deeper into the building. Maybe he wasn't here. Rose then ran to his bedroom and pushed open the door.
"Seth? Are you in here?" she croaked and her eyes felt hot. Tears started to drop from her eyes as she was disappointed to know that Seth wasn't here. She cried before she dropped to her knees. She kept thinking where was he and she was desperate to meet him.
"Where are you," she faltered, crying on the floor.
"Looking for me?" Rose heard the voice that she was longing to hear. She craned her neck to look behind and saw Seth, smiling and he didn't look surprised. Rose frowned, tears were still trailing down her cheeks and she was speechless even though she had loads to tell him. Seth approached and he lifted her up to her feet.
"Is this a payback?" Rose said, recalling the fact that she trolled him the other day. Seth laughed, putting his hands on her shoulders. "Sort of," he joked, looking into her eyes. He curled his lips and made a waiting expression. "Tell me everything that you planned to say," he said.
Rose chuckled. "There were too many things that I thought on my way here," she started and Seth nodded. "I don't even know why did I run 5 kilometers to get to the castle," she rolled her eyes when she remembered how stupid she was. Seth wouldn't go anywhere and she should have stayed in the taxi.
Seth wrinkled his nose and his eyebrow raised. "You ran?" he laughed and Rose nudged his stomach playfully. "I can imagine you running like a buffalo," he joked and was still laughing.
Rose frowned. "Funny," she sulked. Seth chuckled and traced his fingers on her cheek. "I'm sorry. Now, continue," he smiled.
Rose breathed in before she speaks. "I realized that I lived without ballet for seven months when I was married to you. That just means that I don't necessarily need it my life. When I was at the airport, I opened my album, looked at our pictures and I already missed you. I need you more, Seth," she said, gazing into his eyes.
Seth smiled, his eyes downcast. "I was about to kill myself before I heard your voice calling my name," he said. Rose was taken aback. "What?" she shouted and her eyes widened. "Seriously?"
"Kidding,"
Rose slapped the side of his shoulder as she was annoyed. Seth laughed and put his forehead against hers. "Is there anything you want to add?" he grinned, rubbing her shoulders.
"I love you, Seth," she confessed and it was genuine. She'd never loved anyone the way she loved him. Seth Larston was everything to her and she couldn't live without him.
Seth chuckled and her words made the butterflies in his stomach to flutter happily. He closed his eyes and took a long breath. "I love you, Rose," he said honestly. He leaned in and brushed his lips against her.
Seth could see his promising future with Rose by his side. She will be the queen of his heart forever and they will live happily ever after. He imagined how their kids will look like. He was sure that they will have cute kids, just like Rose. Seth vowed that he'll make her happy for the rest of his life.
Rose wrapped her arms around his neck as they kissed. For the longest while, she had never felt this happy. Their marriage was never a mistake and she was thankful for this. If only her grandfather is still alive, she will thank him for arranging her marriage to the sweetest guy in the world.
Seth pulled away and he gazed into her eyes. "I've got a surprise for you," he said before he ruffled his hand in the pocket, searching for something. Rose waited as she saw him taking out his car keys out of his pocket. He stumbled when he tried to take out the key ring out from the keys.
Seth got down on one knee as he said, "Rose Humprey, will you marry me?"
