AUTHOR'S NOTE

This story is Princess Hours FAN FICTION. Please don't go and comment about how this story is very similar to the TV series because I'm aware of that. If you still mention about this, then you're really ......

Thank you

And the cast is almost as the same as Wizard of Waverly Place but it has nothing to do with magic! It has completely different plot.

          "I'm afraid there's nothing that we can do now, my lady. The King's condition is getting worse. The cancer has spread through his coronary artery. It may lead to stroke, and eventually..." he paused, trying to figure out the right word to speak to his princess, but then he realised that there is none, "death..." his word trailed off.

           The future queen fell onto the sofa just behind her, with one of her hands on her chest, trying to keep herself calm. How was she going to tell everyone? What would the people say if they knew that their King is dying? And the most important thing was, how will her mother-in-law react, if she found out?

         The doctor looked down. "I'm really sorry, your Highness. We're trying our best," he said. The middle-aged woman looked into his eyes. "You must, doctor. No matter what happens, you must," she said in a desperate and firm tone. "And the most important thing, no one must know," she said, warning him.

             "But, his wife? She must knows, your Highness," the doctor was taken aback. He had been the royal family's private doctor for a long time. He must have felt guilty for not telling the truth to the queen, on her husband's condition. For him, she must know.

           The woman made a sharp eye contact; "No!" she stressed her word. "Not now. I will tell her myself when she's ready or when the King's really..." she stopped, not willing to pursue her words. "Promise me, doctor. The queen must not know this from you. Let me settle this matter."

           The doctor hesitated but nodded to please her. "Prince Edward? You will tell him, or this matter must be kept from him too?" he asked out of curiosity.

The princess said nothing and looked away. She was thinking hard, about her family and what would happen to them in the future, if the King passed away. Still looking away, she finally spoke, "I will speak to him. He must knows about his father," she said slowly, almost inaudible as the doctor nodded.

~~~
           She opened her eyes just enough to see the sunlight filling her bedroom. She heard her cell phone, issuing her alarm song, One Thing from One Direction. She reached for it and pressed the snooze button and went back to sleep.
           A few minutes later, she heard her bedroom door knock. "Mom," she whispered to herself. She grabbed a pillow from the other side of the bed and used it to cover her ears. The bedroom door then swung open and a middle-aged woman, brown haired stood in front of it, arms crossed to her chest. The woman marched towards her daughter's bed and pulled her pillow, harshly.
          "Mom!" Her daughter whined like a five-years old kid. "If you could notice, I'm trying to get some sleep here!" She said, her eyes were barely open.
           Her mother didn't tolerate with her, "Rose Humphrey, get up now! You have to go to school!" She screamed, and inched towards the window, pulling the flowery pink curtains.
           Rose shrugged as the sunlight burned her eyes. She finally gave in to her mother, and got up from her bed, heading towards the bathroom door. Mrs Humphrey observed her daughter's bedroom.
               It was a disaster. Posters, clothes and candy wrappers were all over the floor. The desk was a mess. Books, clothes, pants and even socks were piled together on it. Her bedroom pink wall had been decorated with posters; mostly of One Direction. She couldn't even guess when was the last time Rose had cleaned her bedroom, and doubted that she was even a girl.
         When Rose was done with her shower, she went out of the bathroom, in her bathrobe and found her mother was still here.
              Her mother turned herself to her, both hands on her hip, "Is this a bedroom or a barn?" she said, sarcasm hitting every word. "Wait, a barn is actually way better than your room!" she continued.
               Rose ignored her mother and riffled her wardrobe in search for something to wear. She took out a plain white shirt and denim jeans and put it on instantaneously.
       "Rose, I'm talking to you," her mother said, only this time, in a softer tone. Rose, still ignoring her mother, tip toed to her dresser mirror and combed her brown hair. After she finished, she motioned closer to her mother.
          "Mom, I'm late for school so I gotta go now! I'll clean the mess when I got back!" she chirped and planted a kiss on her mother's cheek before hurrying out of her bedroom.
           "Bye mom!"She shouted from nowhere in the house and headed out for school. Mrs Humphrey sighed and doubted that she'll do what she had just said. Cleaning wasn't her thing.
         Rose walked to the bus top and waited for the bus. Three juniors; 2 girls and one boy were there, talking to each other. They glanced at her before looking away. She had never been very popular at school.
         Well actually, no one had ever noticed her at school, except her two best friends; Lily and Cassidy. She ignored them and sat on the bench, tying her ponytail. She swung her legs back and forth while waiting.
        "Rose!" Someone surprised her from behind, poking her hip. Rose jumped and startled before she realized that it was her best friend.
            "Lily! Don't ever do that!" she moaned and nudged her. Lily laughed and took a seat beside her on the bench. She glared at the group of juniors who stared at them when she had poked Rose. They then whispered something to each other, and laughed. Rose looked at them, and knew that they were laughing at her.
          She viewed her friend who was now clenching her fist. Rose placed a hand on her shoulder, "Just ignore them, Lily. It's not worth it," she calmed her.
         Lily then looked away from them, and stared at Rose. "This is your major problem. You're too nice, Rose!" she said in a bold tone.
            "It's just not worth it. Plus, they're juniors," Rose said in a bored tone. She took out her iPod and scrolled down, in search for the right song.
         Lily wasn't satisfied with her answers, "Which is why they have to be nice to us! We're seniors!" she said and she sounded like a Mayor who was talking in a conference.
          Lily Downs, the girl that would always stand up for her friends. She'd never afraid to speak the truth. She was the opposite of Rose, who was shy and never stood up for herself.
Her principle; it's better to shut yourself rather than fighting for stupid matters, like people who laughed at her because she startled.
          She put on her headphones and pressed the play button. "Well, they respect those jocks and cheerleaders," Rose said indifferently. She continued, "And who are we? We're just a bunch of nerds, Lil,"
               Lily gasped and slapped her thigh, hard. "What was that for?" Rose asked, rubbing her thigh. Lily learned karate when she was nine and so she hit pretty hard.
        "That's for you, my friend. Why'd you say that we're nothing? You're the best ballet dancer in school!" she said in a high pitch voice. Rose chuckled, in a sarcastic way. True, she was the best in school, that's what every teacher said, but she was never the student's favorite. Plus, Rose never had wanted that stupid title.
         All she ever wanted is to graduate as fast as she could and leave Maximillian Art School forever. It was only a few months to go. "Yeah, like they even care," Rose scoffed.
The bus finally halted in front of them. The group of juniors got into it first, before Rose and Lily followed them from behind.
~~~~

                Maximillian Art School. A special private school of art. (Well, obviously!) This is where Rose took a ballet course whilst Lily was a fashion student. It suited her; Lily was the most fashionable girl in school even though only Rose adored her taste.

       She always wore 'different' clothes. Or should we say, the Lady Gaga of the school? Because of her 'different' fashion styles, the students gave her a lot of nicknames. Lily Gaga, Weirdo, Red Riding Hood (because she wore a Red Riding Hood's cape once!) Rainbow girl and lots more.

     Lily, like always, would ignore those bad asses and be herself. Lily and Rose had been friends since kindergarten. They lived in the same street, and always stuck together.

         "Happy Halloween Downs," a stupid jock said, when they walked pass through him in the hallway.

         Lily glared at him and wanted to beat him up, but Rose managed to hold her arm. "Ignore him, Lily. You look... Nice," Rose said, pausing before actually said the word nice and observed her clothes.

          It was a little weird. No, it was freaking weird. She was wearing a float spinach green sundress and a pair of yellow sneakers. The sundress were then matched with her over-sized nerdy glasses. That's the typical fashion of Lily Downs.

           They walked into the hallway before suddenly, the students went wild. They pushed each other, and ran toward the Entrance Door. Just like Justin Bieber had come to visit the school. Rose and Lily held each other, arm in arm, protecting themselves from those crazy maniac students.

         "What's happening?" Rose stuttered. They turned their back towards the entrance door and saw a few men wearing black tuxedos, vacating the hallway. They were trying their best to stop the madness of the students; especially girls, and pushed them aside.

         Rose and Lily looked at each other. Men In Black? Crazy girls? Well, the answers to the madness was simple. It wasn't Justin Bieber or One Direction or Cody Simpsons visiting the school.

           The figure that those men were trying to protect, finally climbed out from his limo. He was the heir to the throne of this country, the man who everyone was crazy about, Prince Seth Larston. Rose and Lily's eyes were looking at him, as he walked into the entrance door.

          His arrival to the school, was always hectic. People (girls especially) would be shouting his name and snapping his photos. It didn't happen in just one day, it happened every day! Every single day, whenever he came to school. The Men In Black escorted him into the hallway and stopped the crazy students from touching him.

            He's handsome. Almost killing to be seen. He had dark-brown hair, that went perfectly behind his ear lobes, fair-skinned, toned and fit body, tall; every girls dream guy. Even Rose had to admit that he was very good looking; and she was not one to be easily impressed.

          The prince walked into the hallway and headed straight for the filming student's school building. He took a filming course here, in this school.

             Rose stared at his face for a moment; his blue eyes were looking down. Probably he was tired of his life. Who wouldn't be? His arrival to school was frenzy every single day. Then, he turned to a corner and vanished from her sight.

          "Oh, Prince Seth! Isn't he a beauty? If only I could get near him and smell him. I bet he smells like peppermints. Well, that's what I dreamed about!" A girl chirped as she motioned towards them. She was whirling herself with both her hands on her chest, dreaming about Prince Seth.

      Lily slapped her back to wake her from her fairytale dream. "Ouch!" she bellowed, frowning at Lily. "Stop dreaming Cassidy. You won't get anywhere near him. He has Men In Black with him, all the time." Lily said, crushing her dreams.

           "Well, I can when I get married to him!" Cassidy said, clapping her hands like a cheerleader, ignoring Lily.

              Lily laughed and held her shoulder. "In your dream, Cassidy. Why would he marry you? He's got all the cheerleaders surrounding him!" Lily said, again, crushing all Lily's dream.

       Cassidy frowned and gave a death stare at Lily. "You're just jealous Lily. I'm going to be a princess! And Prince Seth is mine!" she said, pointing a finger to her nose.

        "Stop it, guys!" Rose said, hoping they would shut up. "Please stop fighting over Seth Larston. You're both acting like idiots!" she continued, looking at them.

Cassidy turned her face to Rose, "It's Prince Seth Larston, Rose," she corrected her.

        Rose gave an indifferent look at her, "Like I care? I could call him anything that I want," she said, throwing her hands up in the air. She glanced at her pink wristwatch. "I've got to practice. I'll see you guys at lunch," she told them and walked away from there.

         She could still hear them, fighting over Prince Seth from behind her. She shook her head and continued her walk.

~~~
         "Yo Seth!" Luke greeted him when he walked into their classroom. Seth, who wasn't in any mood to socialize, slammed himself onto the chair, ignoring his friend.
He was still grieving on his grandfather's death. The whole royal families were. His grandfather was a great man, and he had been very close to him. But that's not the only thing that he'd been thinking about.
           Now that his father is a king, he had automatically become the Crown Prince. It was a big responsibility for a 19 years old guy, to be the Crown Prince of a country. The whole nation was counting on him. He put his head onto the table and closed his eyes.
           "Are you okay?" Alan asked, full of concern, as he saw Seth's worried looking face. He put down his camera and took a seat beside him. Luke was standing in front of them, his arms crossed on his chest. "You looked troubled," he continued.
           But Seth didn't say anything and his head was still on the table. Luke put his hand on his shoulder, "For Gods sake Seth, tell us!" He said. He and Alan had been friends with Seth since their first-year. Even though Seth were a future king, he never did act like he one. He was humble and cool.
         "Nothing guys, I'm just tired," Seth said, his head is still on the table. He could never tell them what was happening in the castle. His mother would kill him.
          Royal families always had been secretive. He couldn't tell his friends everything about himself. "I'm a Crown Prince now so, it's not that weird for me to be stressful," he blurted.
         "Well, relax. You're not a king yet," Luke shrugged. He didn't know what else to say. He understood his friend's position. Being a son to one of the richest men in the world, was almost the same as being the king's son. Always being hunted by the paparazzi and mad girls.
            The only difference was, Luke love being in his position, unlike Seth. He liked the attention and cheerleaders cheering his name. "Those cheerleaders are going to be nuts when they see you! The whole world is talking about you man! You should be proud!" he continued.
            "Proud?" Seth echoed as he raised his head and looked at him. "Well, I'm not so proud, when mad people welcomed me to school this morning. Double craziness! You should have watched." he said. Every day, his arrival to the school would be hectic but since he's been 'promoted', the madness had been doubled.
          Seth didn't even know why they were crazy about him. There were many good-looking guys in this school, not just him. And there were tons of rich guys in Maximillian too. It wasn't just him. "Ignore me, I want to be alone," he finally said, cupping his face in his hands.
           "Whatever it is, I'm sorry for your loss Seth. Heard about it in the news," Alan said apologetically and held his shoulder.
           Seth nodded and gave him a weak smile. No one would ever understand what he was encountering. Not even his best friends. Then, the class is filled in with filming students and their teacher walked into the class. But Seth was just not in the mood for any lighting tips.
~~~

           Rose descended from the bus as it stopped. She waved Lily a goodbye, and walked back to her house. She swung the gate open and walked into the house front yard. There was a small garden; rose bushes and tulips that her father had planted (Yes, her father planted it). A cute gnome made the garden look more cheerful.

          She turned the knob and went into her house. She walked along the hallway and shouted, "I'm home,"

       She made her way into the living room and it was empty. Magazines were scattered on the couch, her mother's paperwork was all over the place. She shook her head and knew who did all this. Her brothers; Ethan and Jace. Rose is second in the family, Jace is the eldest.

              She continued to walk in the hallway and found Ethan in the kitchen, with a bowl of cheese chips in front of him. Rose motioned toward him, hands on her hip. "Where's mom?" she asked.

             Ethan ignored her, as he was too busy with his video game. Rose was annoyed so she took his video game out of his hand.

            "Hey! Give it back!" Ethan grumbled and tried to get his video game back, but Rose had hid it behind her.

            "Tell me where's mom," she said firmly.

            Ethan sighed, "She's in her bedroom, I think! Now, give it back, faggot!" he shouted.

            Rose frowned. "Dad? Jace?"

          "I don't know! Dad's in the backyard, gardening, like always! Jace hasn't got home yet!" he said, in a high-pitched tone.

              Rose took out the video game from her behind and gave it back to her brother. Ethan took it and continued with his game.

         She took a handful of chips and climbed the stairs, up to her parent's bedroom. She knocked on the door and heard her mother say, "Come in," so she entered her room.

             Her mother was sitting on the bed, which was covered with envelopes, papers and files. She sat beside her, wrapped her arms around her knees and took one of the white envelopes. It was the house bills. Their family was having a hard time to pay the bills. Her father's company had bankrupt and their family's sub shop weren't running well.

           She knew that her mother was worried about the bills just by looking at her face. "Mom..." she said softly and held her hand. "We're going to be fine," she soothed her.

             Mrs Humphrey gave a weak smile and squeezed her hand. "I don't know Rose. The authorities keep calling me. They said that we have to vacate the house if I don't pay the bills by tomorrow," she said and her eyes started to fill with tears.

            "We'll figure something out," Rose said. She didn't know what she should say to soothe her mother. They were in a deep trouble and she knew it. Her mother gave another weak smile and hugged her.

            "Mom! Rose!" Ethan shouted from downstairs. They let go of each other and Mrs Humphrey shouted back, "What?"

        "Someone's here to see you!" he said, in a weird tone. "And they wear tuxedos just like those guys in Men In Black!" he continued.

          Rose and her mother looked at each other. '

              Men In Black? Prince Seth's bodyguards?' Rose thought to herself. If it was them, what were they doing here? They climbed out from the bed and head out from the bedroom, heading downstairs.
