Meet Xander. The Biggest Butt Around(Chapter Four)
The head counselors stumbled out of the portal gasped when they realized they were in the Big House and near their own respective chairs.
"That. Was. AWESOME!" Travis and Connor whooped, punching their fists in the air.
"Shut it, Stolls." Clarrise rolled her eyes. Their mouths clamped shut since the last time they didn't do what they said, let's just say the infirmary had two sons of Hermes for 2 months. Nobody wants that. Especially Will.
The Angels were lined up in perfect order except for Omega. He was off in the shadows lurking.
"Now that we are here, teach us about your ways of living," Zoe said, smiling, though since most of her mouth was covered, it looked like a sadistic grin.
"Well, one blow from the conch horn means breakfast, lunch or dinner. Two means monster or other deities are attacking Camp." Annabeth explained. "And every meal, we have to sacrifice to the gods."
"We won't be doing that." ALuke butted in. Zoe rolled her eyes at him.
Annabeth looked shocked. "Well, um, we kinda have to. It's regulation."
"Do I have to repeat what I said?" Luke asked. Annabeth's eyes widened at Luke's statement. She shook her head no fastly.
"What I meant-" she stopped herself before she dug her hole deeper.
"Anything else we should know?" asked Zoe.
"We have Capture The Flag every Friday. And the gods visit every Wednesday, and Saturday. To, uh spend with their children."
"Alright, you heard it, soldiers! The gods visit and we may have extra training on Friday if it can be arranged." You could hear the smirk in Luke's voice.
"Do you wish to join us?" said the daughter of Athena.
"Yes, that'd be quite alright. Could something like campers against hunters against Angels?" He shrugged. Bianca looked over at Omega who was watching the scene unfold. He met her gaze and his eyes was a mix of pale sea green, the galaxy, and white. She shivered at the hardness and the look of complete isolation and torture in his eyes. How was this Percy Jackson? He wasn't. He was Omega.
Annabeth shrugged and looked over at Chiron. He nodded.
"So, in a couple minutes, it's going to be dinner. If you want to introduce yourselves to camp or..." Jason pointed out.
"Oh, yes that'll do," Zoe confirmed while looking over at Omega. He nodded mutely.
"Right, I guess we'll see you all at dinner?" Annabeth tried for a confident smile, but even that was wavering.
"Oh, yes, of course," said Zoe.
"But what about a dinner table?" asked the daughter of war, Clarisse.
Omega stepped out of the shadows and snapped his fingers. Everyone heard the clanging of metal hitting cement. Everyone but the Angels flinched.
"I guess that's fixed," Clarisse muttered. Travis and Connor looked out at the window happily.
"Oh, my gods! There's a new table!" they said their eyes becoming huge. Luke and Zoe rolled their eyes. Clarisse gave them a glare. They both straightened their backs and looked away stiffly, avoiding Clarisse's eyes.
The conch horn sounded once. Everyone slowly walked from their cabins and sluggishly sat down. Omega raised his brows along with the Angels.
"Everyone is sad?" asked Ethan. Annabeth looked down.
"Ever since. Per-" her voice cracked on his name. "He left, the camp was never the same." She nervously glanced at Omega. "The campfire has been black for years now. Nobody can get over him."
"Years? How many?" Luke said incredulously. Annabeth shook her head.
"You'll find out during the campfire if you attend." Annabeth wrapped her hands around a ring on her hand. It shone a light sea green and had small engravings on it. Luke stared at it and realized it said "Seaweed Brain and Wise Girl Forever" He choked on air, but covered it off with a cough.
"Yes. We'll attend," said Luke, coughing into his fists nervously.
Nobody argued.
*
"Tonight, we welcome allies from Lord Chaos himself!" said Chiron. Everyone slowly clapped.
Out stepped the Angels.
"Hello, I am Alpha, second in command of Chaos' army, otherwise known as Hero.." The Angels reintroduced themselves to the campers. Except for one...
"Where's your commander?!" yelled a boy from the Poseidon table. There were only two people there, the other being the head counselor who said his name was Jackson.
"Our commander is here," Luke said simply. The boy narrowed his eyes at Luke.
"I said where is he!" the boy shouted. Luke raised his brows.
"What are you? Camp leader?" said Zoe. She looked up, her eyes flashing at the boy. He shivered.
"Yes, I am! I'm Xander, the best son of Poseidon there ever was!" He smirked. Everyone was silent at this. he grinned.
"See, nobody is arguing!" He said greedily.
"Xander sit your a** down on that seat," Jackson said. Xander looked down at him and sneered.
"You can't tell me what to do!" He screamed. Jackson rolled his eyes.
" I can and I will. You forget who my mother is." Xander's eyes widened and he mutely sat down.
"Now that that's over, we can FEAST!" Chiron exclaimed and throw his arms in the air.Everyone sighed and began to eat little by little. Except for Omega. He doesn't eat. Only the souls of his enemies.(sarcasm, but he doesn't eat) In fact, he didn't even sit with his team. He was up on the rafters of the Pavillion and was staring down at every camper as if analyzing them one by one. His legs hung down from where he was.
As dinner went on Omega thought about this camp and all the memories that scars leave. He almost chuckled at the thought of saving the world from Kronos and Gaea, both who are now his close friends. He almost chuckled. Almost.
He then remembered Annabeth kissing him and telling him that he's a Seaweed Brain. Jason and him sparring with each other and constantly getting injured. Him and Leo pranking people along with the Stolls. Piper and him messing around and talking about their girlfriend/boyfriend. Frank, Hazel and him talking about quests and among other random things. This place had so many memories.
A sweet melody sifted through the rafters. Omega blinked once and then blinked twice. What was that? It's beautiful.
Omega jumped from the rafters and perfectly landed in a walking position. He walked away from the Pavilion, with people staring after him and wondering.
He walked, following the soft music.
He found himself at large gate. It was golden and lead to a massive amount of statues. Flowers were kept and the architecture was amazing! A fond smile crept onto his lips. Wait. Is he showing emotion? Omega then put on that same old emotionless mask. What was this place doing to him?
He jumped over the gate swiftly and continued his search for the source of such music. He stared up at the statues, recognizing each stoney face.
Luke was here. Beckendorf was here. Silena was here. Ethan was here. Bianca was here. Zoe was here. Annabeth was here. Jason was here. Piper was here. Leo was here. Frank was here. Hazel was here and more and more heroes of the past. But as he walked through them, it all lead to one giant statue.
Of Perseus Jackson.
He kneeled down and observed the massive amount of flowers that laid next to the statue in an orderly fashion His statue held Riptide high and with a proud expression on his face. His jeans were rugged and his shirt was torn, but he still looked happy.
A golden plate shone in the dusk light. It read:
A true hero
isn't measured by the size of his strength
but the strength of his heart
Perseus(Percy) Jackson, betrayed but never forgotten. You are the heart of this camp. We need you.
And with that, it ended. Omega looked out at the sea of roses. Notes flittered about.
He picked up one and inspected it. It was a sea green color with gold lining. Fancy, he thought. He opened it to see the golden writing. It was clearly Annabeth's by the neatness. Though you could see spots were tears had dried.
Seaweed Brain, I'll always love you even if you don't love me back. I know what I did was wrong, but please, please believe me when I say, Xander tricked us all. He-
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" screamed an angry daughter of Athena.
Omega looked up from the card and merely glanced at her.
"Don't touch them! They're for Percy!" cried Annabeth.
He raised his eyebrows even if she couldn't see them, looking unamused. His lips curved into a frown.
"For Percy?" said a voice behind her. Out came Luke, hiding in the shadows.
"Yes, for Percy!" She growled. Omega stood up and twirled the note around in his gloved hands.
"Who says he's coming back?" Luke said looking directly at Omega. Omega looked at the statue once more before placing his hand on the stone. Annabeth looked alarmed.
"What are you doing!" she shouted. Luke shook his head.
"You'll see." was all Luke said to her.
A golden color exploded from Omega's hand and traveled through the stone reaching every point until the very last spike on Percy Jackson's hair was golden.
Annabeth gasped.
The statue now stood more radiantly and shined a golden color. Omega knocked on it and it tinged like it was metal. It was gold.
"Is that..." Her voice died out as she reached for the statue and tenderly touched the smooth metal.
"Chaos metal disguised as Celestial Bronze. It now is an automaton and will attack any intruders or save demigods from monsters and return them safely. The sword works. Can't be destroyed. Only Chaos, End, Order, and Omega can destroy the statue. It will serve as a protector just like Percy once was." Luke explained. Annabeth, still shocked, stared at the statue with pride. That was my boyfriend, she thought.
Omega stepped back.
"Thank you, Omega. This means a lot to camp." She smiled fondly.
He nodded and jumped into a shadow and dissipated.
"For a guy who's the Primordial of pain, he's seems pretty kind." Annabeth chuckled softly. Luke nodded and smiled.
"He will always remain the man he once was. No matter how much he may deny it, he's still the old him. No doubt about it." said Luke
"The old him? Are you saying he was caring? Funny?"Annabeth looked at the shadows with her lips curling into a smile.
"Yeah." That surprised her. "He was funny, loyal, kind, caring, joyful and protective of his friends and family. He was a hero. But times change and people change. Funny how he was loyal and he got stabbed in the back with his friends behind the knife. He met Chaos and he grew with hatred and despair. He built high walls and never let anyone in, afraid that he'd just get hurt again. He became cold and unforgiving. He never used his voice and was even called πέτρινο πρόσωπο, Stone Faced. That's how he learned the true meaning of pain. And betrayal." By the end of Luke's speech, Annabeth was crying.
"Xander came into camp on Percy's birthday. Xander instantly hated him from the moment he was claimed as Poseidon's son. Everyone could see that. But then Xander started playing cruel tricks on Percy. It hurt me to see Percy trying to understand why the guy hated him so much. But then Xander slipped something into my drink, I don't know. I think it was a love potion of sorts. He gave everyone something that allowed him to twist their minds. I don't remember kissing Xander, I only remember the hurt on Percy's face as he threw a box at me with a ring in it. He was going to-" She choked on her words. "to propose to me." Luke pursed his lips.
He has a lot to tell Omega.
