Everybody Wants To Change The World (But No One Wants To Die)- E/DS

Whoop whoop we're done! Well, almost. I decided to give y'all some "behind the scenes" stuff about this li'l fic! (E/DS is just short for Extras/Deleted Scenes because I'm lazy [and I don't think it will fit])

Now, without further ado, here are the extras and deleted scenes...

Extras:

We Were Stars (And Now We're Nothing) was inspired by this:

I knew that I wanted to write something that used this somehow, and originally it was going to be an original work, but then I realized that it worked for Danger Days. And then it just grew from there, y'know what I mean?

The MCR reference in We Were Stars:
It was completely unplanned, but I kinda said it in my mind as a joke, and then I realized that it actually fit really well. So I put it in. If you didn't notice it... ok

Death Valley lyrics in We Lived For It:
This one was also unplanned. I was stuck around that point for a bit, and kinda got Death Valley stuck in my head for a bit. I then realized "hey, this is actually perfect" and decided to put the lyrics in. That section of Death Valley is one that hits me really hard, I have no idea why, and it honestly made me love the oneshot so much more because of the lyrics.

The end of We Lived For It:
So, near the end of We Lived For It, But Now We're Paying For It, I pretty much blanked. And then I remembered my "Angst Writing" playlist (yes, that's what it's called). And there's references to the songs that I was listening to sprinkled in along the Death Valley lyrics. (ie: "Some people lost the light behind their eyes.")

The end of We Lived For It (plot edition):
I didn't mean for y'all to think that Kobra had died, but... my writing took me there. It was fun to watch though because by that time I had already decided that I wanted Benzie to die (that sounds really weird but yeah)

We Are Nothing Without Mistakes:
The first title was The Tombstones Are Waiting, but I wanted to be ✨unique ✨so I changed it. The title is a lyric from the masterpiece known as Alive by Electric Century

What was Kobra whispering into Sandman's ear? (1)
Fun fact, I actually wrote it as a note before continuing onto the next bit. Kobra whispered: "Benzie can wait, we can't. I'm sorry Sandy, but we– I don't wanna lose you too."

What was Kobra whispering into Sandman's ear? (2)
"We'll let you talk."

The death of Dr. Benzedrine:
When I started writing this oneshot series, I thought it was going to be a simple oneshot about stars, but I kept adding to it. It kinda went from We Were Stars and then "Why not do this in Party/Ghoul's POV" and then "If I'm doing Party/Ghoul's, why not Kobra's as well." Near the end of writing We Were Stars, I wanted to incorporate the Bad Luck Beads somehow and kinda went "Kobra's going to Sandman, which means that Benzedrine's gonna be there... I should kill Benzedrine" Basically, it was just too good to pass up.

The title of [Bennie's oneshot]:
I had 30+ titles that I thought of. [idk, i'm too lazy to count] fucking titles. (26 before I finished Kobra's oneshot [3̶8̶ 39 titles with ≈700 words in Kobra's oneshot]) Edit: so I started this e/ds before I finished the first part (I think), and during that time, I was planning on doing a oneshot from Bennie's pov. I chickened out, because it would be too hard. I didn't even decide on a title.

The ending of How Wrong We Were...:
So I had actually planned (more like hoped) to do more for the end. But my brain wouldn't work. I'm happy with the ending though. When writing it, I knew I wanted a lyric at the very end to top it all off, and "Killjoys, make some noise" was the best one for it. I feel like it kinda leads into the album in a way, almost like a bit of backstory to the album/music videos.

Deleted Scenes/Ideas that didn't make it in:

(The parts that didn't make it will be in italics. The regular font is what is in the fic and is to "reestablish where we are". My notes will be in bold italics.)

From: We Were Stars (And Now We're Nothing)

(I was stuck at this point for a while, and wrote this deleted scene. It didn't line up with my vague idea of where the plot was gonna go, so I deleted it [I mean, I still kept it, but it isn't a part of the final])

The Girl sighed, her eyes lowering to the Trans Am where Party and Ghoul were talking. She could hear murmurs being said, but couldn't distinguish what. She saw Kobra wheeling his motorbike out, getting ready to go to the Suitehearts.

Jet placed a hand on her shoulder. "Girl, I can't help you through this if you don't talk about it."

"I know, but it doesn't make sense."

"Most things don't," Jet confirmed, "But maybe we can make sense of it together."

"I s'pose you're right."

"Girlie, you should know by now that I'm always right," Jet joked.

"Party's really corrupted you."

"Eh. The fucker wishes he has hair like mine."

"But I've got hair like you."

"Which makes you 10 times better than Party."

"I mean, it isn't hard."

Jet burst out laughing, "Destroya, I'm gonna have to tell Kobra and Sandman about that!"

From: We Lived For It, But Now We're Paying For It

(These were ideas that I was planning to use, but completely forgot about when I got to the point that I wanted to use them. These were just quick jots that I had and needed to write down before I forgot. Basically, this is a peek into my mind.)

"You don't seem okay."

"Oh I'm fucking shiny."

"Destroya, Party, you can open up to me."

‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›

*kissing?* It was too much, it was overwhelming. But at the same time, it didn't feel like enough. Party wasn't sure whether to push Ghoul away or pull him closer. (Ahahaha this one was on my mind when watching TV or something)

From: We Are Nothing Without Mistakes

(First off, there were quite a few. I'm not going to be sharing every one of them, only the few that I was at least mildly sad to see go. This first one is just because the wording is so weird, I couldn't help but share it)

Kobra didn't say anything. It was true, after all; the two of them tended to avoid emotional exchanges in exchange for chaotic happiness. Chaotic happiness that often died out and left them feeling empty.

"I guess not."

The barren ceiling did nothing to calm Kobra's nerves, and Kobra's silence did nothing to dissuade Sandman's words.

"Say, if there was someone out in the desert somewhere that I liked, how'd you react?" Sandman blurted, eyes still locked on the top of the little box called a room.

(Now THIS one I was very sad to take out.)

"Destroya," Sandman sighed, flopping back onto the bed, "What's holding you back, Kobra?"

Kobra opened their mouth before closing it abruptly. Sandman, noticing the lack of an answer, stood up and tugged Kobra up next to him. He dragged Kobra back to the main room, leaving an unmade bed and a slightly rumpled one in his wake. He walked through the main room, dragging Kobra outside.

"And so I told him– Oh hey Sa..." Horseshoe trailed off, noticing the look on Sandman's face.

Sandman tossed a glare in Horsehoe's direction. "Noth–"

"Sandman," Donnie's usually calm, quiet voice was tinged with slight anger. "Don't take your frustration out on Horseshoe."

"Sorry Donnie," Sandman mumbled sheepishly.

"And..?"

"Sorry Horseshoe." Sandman shifted their feet, looking eager to get away from Donnie and Horseshoe.

From: How Wrong We Were To Think That Immortality Meant Never Dying

(I wrote an entire thing about the stages of grief that I won't put in, but I have that in my docs so... Anyways, here's the deleted scenes, there isn't really much to say. For this first one, it was something in my mind and isn't set at any specific point.)

Party jumped out of the Trans Am, stalking forward.

"Wait!" Ghoul yelled, "Party!" Grabbing their arm, he spun Party around kissing them harshly. "I love you. So much more than I can say in words."

‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›‹›

(This next one was set at Dr. D's, but I had no idea where to go from there. So I scrapped it. I might make it into a thing for... (look at the ending note))

Dr. Death Defying cleared his throat, drawing the room's attention. "Okay tumbleweeds, I know you're all upset and wanna go fuck shit up, but I won't let you crash queens out in th' zones flying half-mast."

[There will be an ending note after this, so it's not completely over yet.]
