Ninteen-Fake It Til You Make It
Pearl's pov
"Statistically speaking, you should do at least mediocre," Peridot said beside me.
"Really?" I asked, looking down at the short blond.
"Undoubtedly. I normally spend my time waiting for mother to finish work in the library, but I could just sit in the hallway of the music department." I nodded, opening the door to the music department.
"Thank you, Peridot." I went to open the door to the practice room we had agreed upon.
"And Pearl?"
"Yes?" I asked, turning around.
"Um, well, if you happen to fail your selected goal, perhaps on Friday we can... 'hang out?'" She asked sheepishly.
"Yes, I'd like that." I smiled, causing her to blush, and stepped through the door.
"Finally you're here." Marty sighed, taking a sip of soda.
"Hi Pearl!" Rose greeted happily. "Have you decided what song you're going to sing for this?" I nodded, pushing my fear deep down. I was doing this for her.
"I was thinking about a song by Fall Out Boy..." I said quietly. Rose smiled.
"Lovely. We're just waiting on Greg to-"
"I'm here!" Greg burst through the door, briefly revealing a shocked Peridot sitting on the floor behind him.
"Greg, you were even later than the kid." Marty said lazily.
"Well, I'm here now! I got caught up in math, so..." He trailed off on his explanation.
"So, should I just... sing?" I asked. Marty waved his hand, nodding.
I breathed in deeply, beginning to sing.

Once I finished the song, I opened my eyes. Rose and Greg were smiling, while Marty sat with wide eyes.
"I don't know what musician got reincarnated in you, but you're hired!" He grabbed a piece of paper and handed to me. "Lyrics. Can you play any instruments?" He asked.
"Well, I can play the Violin..." I answered quietly.
"Great! Print out the sheet music, and bring a violin to practice tomorrow." He walked over to his bag. "Friday will be amazing!" He exclaimed.
Rose smiled, hugging me tight.
"I'll see you there," She whispered into my ear. I smiled, explaining that I needed to go, and rushed to tell Peridot everything.
"-And then Rise hugged me!" I finished my story as we arrived at the main entrance.
"Fascinating." Peridot said in monotone. A fancy car pulled up, and Yellin rolled down the passenger side window.
"Get in back, ladies." She said with a grin. Peridot sighed, and opened the door for me.
"Thank you." I said, sliding all the way in. Peridot got in after me, and soon after we fastened our seatbelts Headmistress Diamond drove away.
"How was everyone's day?" She asked.
"Good." We all replied. Yellin looked back at me.
"Why are you coming over?" She asked.
"Because Peridot inivited me." I replied.
"Your sister is allowed to have friends over too, Yellin." Mrs. Diamond said.
"Well, I wouldn't associate Pearl as being my friend, more as my acquaintance. " Peridot said quickly.
"Aww, Peridork is afraid to have friends because then she won't have enough time to do Jasper's homework anymore." Yellin taunted.
"Yellin Pearl Diamond!" Mrs. Diamond scolded. "Peridot does not do Jasper's homework!" She looked back at Peridot in the rearview. "Do you?" Peridot blushed.
"Well, I haven't always..." Peridot blushed.
"When did you start?" Mrs. Diamond interrogated.
"In the Fifth Grade." Peridot confessed.
"This is unacceptable!" Mrs. Diamond shouted. "I'm afraid Jasper's just been causing too much trouble. Next month we'll have to have a dinner regarding this." She directed her glances to me. "Pearl, do you think you could get your Father to come as well?" She asked.
"Well, you might have to invite his wife and daughters as well, but-"
"Then it's settled. We'll inivite every one who attends Crystal prep who has family attending the dinner."
"Wait a minute! Mother?" Yellin asked.
"Yes?"
"Since Peridot has friends who will be attending, may I invite a family?" She asked.
"I don't see why not, who would you like to invite?" Mrs. Diamond asked.
"The Quartzes."
Amethyst's pov
"Hey Runt! I'm not done talking to you!" I ran as fast as I could, my dyed lavender hair flying behind me.
"Just leave me alone, Jasper!" I yelled. I continued to run despite her insults aimed at my height.
I ran around a corner, running headfirst into some chick.
"Ow!" She yelled, trying to push me off of her.
"Well, would you look at this. Two runts for the price of one. Must be my lucky day." The girl looked up at Jasper.
"Whatever you're going to do, Jasper, leave me out of it. Plus, mom should be here soon-"
Jasper cut the girl off by pushing us both up against the wall. The girl pulled at Jasper's hand, which was gripping her throat tightly.
"Aw, why would I want to pass up a chance like this?" She asked. "Both of you are right here for the beating-"
"Jasper! Release those two at once!" Jasper looked back at the woman in the car, dropping the other girl to the ground. "Lapis!" The woman yelled, running out of the car.
"Woah, did you kill her?" I asked. Jasper growled, and brought her fist up, ready to punch me.
"Jasper, that is enough! I don't know how your father can let you get away with so much, but I simply cannot! We have to bring your sister to the hospital because of you! Yellow was right to want to have that dinner." She turned to look at me. "What's your name?"
"Amethyst." I replied.
"Amethyst, I think your family should come to this dinner too. We'll send a call home." She snapped back to Jasper. "And you! Call an ambulance! She's been unconscious for over two minutes!"
(A/N) Lapis is going to the hospital! I'll most likely post the next chapter later today.
