Forty Four-Live Audience(p2)

Opal's pov

After the Sophomore and Junior class elections, Imp finally came to usher Alexandrite, Rainbow, and I onstage.

"Good luck, Opal." Alexandrite said softly while we stood onstage waiting for the lights to turn on.

"You too." The lights came on, revealing us to the audience. There was a large applause; most people were there to see us.

"A very warm welcome to our Senior class nominees, thank you." Mrs. Diamond said. "First I'd like to start off with the standard question of what your plans are for your term and then we have some questions from your classmates on our Facebook page. Opal, your plans?" I cleared my throat and began.

"Honestly, I didn't plan to run for president. It was really a dare from my sister. But now that I am, I think it's important that we address the needs of our student body. Figure out which departments have too much funding and which could use some more. Make our school a better place for the students." I concluded my statement, and the crowd erupted with applause. Alexandrite smiled.

"I think it would be impossible to word something better than Opal. Our school needs to hold fundraisers so that we can buy better learning supplies and fund our extra curricular activities." I blushed. Alexandrite had mentioned fundraising and supplies, something I hadn't even thought about.

"My plans are to take all of the funding that gets sent to small stuff and focus it towards senior class trips, prom, and graduation." Rainbows's friends, fans, and several party students started screaming abd clapping. Someone even yelled, "Marry me!"

"Settle down, settle down! Especially you, Red!" Red Topaz. Makes sense. Once everyone calmed down, Mrs. Diamond spoke again. "And now, for some questions from the Senior class. First question, Opal, if it's true that you didn't want to run for president, why didn't you drop out?" I smiled.

"If I dropped out, that'd make me a quitter. Plenty of people have shown their support, so if you all want me yo run there's no way I could let you down."

"Thank you Opal, the next question is for Alexandrite. Do you think having served three terms will increase your chances of winning?"

"The mind of the student body is one that constantly changes. I am surprised nobody has gotten sick of me." A few people chuckled.

"Thank you, a question for Rainbow. Rainbow, will you have... Red Topaz that is lewd and unacceptable! Detention!"

"It was worth it!" Red yelled from somewhere in the audience. I laughed along with everyone else, and the evening was semi-normal.

"That concludes tonight's debate, thank you for joining us! Be sure to check out our upcoming fundraiser information sheets, and remember that you can vote during lunch any time from Monday through Thursday!" The three of us went backstage and I finally relaxed. I started walking towards the door to leave, but I was dragged quickly into a dressing room before I could.

"What the hell?" Rainbow pinned me against the wall.

"Listen, I don't know how, but you're doing better than you should be in this election. Keep it up and I just my have to call in a favor from my little friend Jasper."

"You wouldn't!"

"I would!" I spit into her eye.

"Ow! Fuck!" Rainbow's hand flew to her eye and the other released it's death grip on my shoulder.

"Is everything okay in here?" Alexandrite asked, opening the door.

"It is now, thanks."

(A/N) Sorry I never updated yesterday.  Thankfully I'll be skipping over this past weekend because nothing important really happens.

Random Fact of the day:

1.Nobody actually has any clue what grade Red's in. He's in nobody's classes and sorta just walks around all lunches.
